CA CA - Heidi Planck, 39, left son’s football game in Downey, dog found in Los Angeles, 17 Oct 2021 #3

I'm not convinced she didn't leave on her own accord. Perhaps she was scared of something and wanted to go into hiding in order to feel safe. Something about the way her boss was looking into the house as he dropped off the muffins. As if he was suspicious she had taken off, but desperately hoping to find her.

There is nothing to suggest police have uncovered a crime scene or something to suggest is deceased. If she met with foul play, the perpetrator would have had to (presumably) make her AND her car disappear. Why disappear the car? And why save the dog? Seems like unnecessary risks for a murderer.
I am solidly on the fence myself. This case is so atypical! Her car, purse, and phone are missing along with her, which would support the voluntary disappearance theory. But she left her son, which I would not expect a mom to do, and we have no idea why (or how) her dog ended up on the 28th (or 29th) floor of an apartment building alone. I can't draw any solid conclusions from the scarce clues that we have. JMHO

Parents Can Lose Custody of Children
The issue of children being relocated as part of the witness protection program is a controversial one. In instances where parents are divorced or not together, it can raise problems with access; if the child moves, or one parent is put into protection, then it would make staying in contact incredibly difficult.

The rules state that any parent who has joint custody or visitation rights must agree to a child being relocated - otherwise, they cannot enter the program. Contact is also limited to just 12 visits a year, supervised by marshals.

From your link - yeah Heidi wouldn't have any success with JW in the above. Said tongue in cheek~
On my way from the bench to set up a tent.
It would have to be very sudden and an immense threat to cowgirl up and vanish into the WP a few days before her little boy’s birthday , IMOO.

I am very curious about this case. I don't understand why she would be in so much jeopardy when JS's partner is already doing time for this. Seems to me that he (Galanis) should be the bigger threat. But, we don't know what his deal was. He pleaded guilty, but did he cooperate. There does appear to be some credible concern about this employment issue being tied to her disappearance.

Jason Sugarman (Release No. LR-24518; Jun. 27, 2019)

And this was filed in SDNY, not within the SEC before an administrative law judge. Ugh, good luck, Sugarman. SDNY is the premier office for successful white collar prosecutions. MOO that in itself (filing it there, not in-house) could make someone desperate.

All MOO JMO IMO

But edit: Galanis had bigger problems (and indictments in more) than just this case. And, Sugarman was named an unindicted co-conspirator in one of them.

FN 2 (P. 481) Although he was not charged in this case, Jason Sugarman has been characterized by the government as an unindicted co-conspirator.

Okay, bear with me here. So there are so many things being thrown out on here about this case. What if it turned out to be something much more simple. What if her disappearance had nothing to do with, her ex, her work, or her simply taking off. What if she was in the alley for a reason? What if she was there to pick up something? Her ex said she was antsy at the ballgame and left early. Why would you go to a random alley behind an apartment, that seems might have some issues, to walk your dog? Her being there is just odd IMO. So was she there for a specific reason and that pickup went bad? Again just throwing this out there as a possibililty. No assumptions, no accusations.

100% could be totally random with her being in the wrong place at the wrong time. MOO

I have to hope LE already knows the "who" here, but maybe not the "where" or "why" yet.

Because, I have to think that unless the complex scrubbed that video (or it was genuinely recorded over), they know how the dog got in the building. They know if the dog walked in on his own, or if someone took the dog in.

And if someone took him in, they either know who that someone is or they at least have a face. MOO

I was just thinking the same thing! So seven somehow gets free during the course of whatever happened. He runs to the building and here's the big deal killer - how did he get in and when he did - supposedly there are employees in the reception area 24/7. Would they notice a dog wondering around and hopping on an elevator ride to the 28th floor? This is where that theory starts to fall apart a bit. Unless someone felt sorry for him & escorted seven to their floor then turned him loose. It gets more far-fetched when you hone in on the details to make it work.

Or the person she was meeting lived in the building and the dog went into the building with her and this person. Then things unfolded from there.

We have no idea what L.E. has regarding video. Did they even get it? Also could explain why L.E. is keeping things so quiet.
I assume they did, that's how we know she was in the alley. I also saw a post today where Management responded to someone who said they were not cooperating with LE- it stated ONNI was cooperating fully, it is an active investigation and they will not be responding further. I'll go back and see if I can find it.

ETA- the life of a WS'er, I looked at so much today I can't find the post.

I literally just read that review and response from management on Yelp. I've been perusing Yelp and Google reviews for that building. There are apparent

H+F has handed over video to LE on Wednesday Nov 5th. This article/video also states LE has video footage of Heidi walking her dog in the alley.
