His clubs were in X's room, as was shown on LE body cam when they responded to one of the Noise Complaints back in Sept. Actually, I didn't not see his name on them, but they were (looked like) a men's set of clubs. As far as taking & them, I think it's quite possible m the reason is that there may be blood on them. IMO

Yes, that is true. But I can’t resolve him being a bright, very intelligent teen according to friends, soon to be considered brilliant by a professor, but only went to high school part time while enrolled in a HVAC Vocational Training program instead of college prep coursework, as far as I understand.
He was in some kind of supposed junior LE club in 2011 and at the same professed an interest in becoming an Army Ranger all while allegedly posting of profound disturbances in VS, allegedly.

All while enrolled in a blue collar job training program at 16, allegedly using heroin, allegedly doing rehab, getting a school guard job only to then begin zipping through two degrees with honors?!?!
Is that not all a very peculiar path and trajectory? MOO

IMO, maybe BK started taking psychotropic meds.

I must be missing something here. You have a sheath found near/on one of the victims with BK's DNA on it (after further analysis getting actual sample if BKs DNA). BINGO. What does *TIME* of DNA being deposited on sheath have to do with it? This put's BK *there*..I mean the sheath just didn't *FLOAT* there....of course you have *OJ* defense...it was (cough cough) PLACED there... yeah that's it!

If they try to go that route, they're just grasping at straws. There is too much evidence that BK committed the murders. But, the defense team has to try anything I imagine. There is nothing unusual about their vehicles being there, but the defense will try anything I guess, attorneys don't care about being awful and disrespectful, it's their job to do anything they can to get their client off, and create doubt.

IMO, remember that a fight or disagreement may have occurred at the frat house before the murders.

Depending on where he went for his medical appointment it might not be covered by HIPAA. Most colleges, universities and educational institutions are considered HIPAA exempt.
They're covered under FERPA (due to nature of records and a few other factors).

Colleges and universities are not exempt from HIPPA. They are responsible to follow both HIPPA and FERPA federal regulations. FERPA covers personal student informatiton related to academic grades, academic standing, email addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, address, car/parking informaton, anything about the student's personal and academic information. HIPPA covers anything medical or counseling treatment from the student health center or student counseling center, or office of disabilities, or university medical center (if the university has a hospita/medical center). Staff who work at universities take annual training on FERPA and if they are involved in health or counseling centers or university medical centers/hospitals then they also take annual training on HIPPA.

Violations of FERPA or HIPPA could result in a lawsuit by the student, and even if no lawsuit, if complaints are made then they have to be reported and are taken into consideration by accreditating agencies and national medical center annual reviews.

ETA: Both faculty and staff take annual FERPA training, and staff and faculty who are engaged in medical or psychological clinical work or research also take annual HIPPA training.

You snipped one sentence of my post, leaving no context. My point is HIPPA should not constrain all free speech, especially this receptionist's observations about his demeanor.

That's only my opinion. I don't expect everyone to agree.

I'm not the one who snipped your post..... but I think the point is that the receptionist violated HIPAA by informing the media that he attended a medical appointment. She disclosed his name , which is PII and a part of PHI, to the media. A HIPAA covered entity can't disclose to the public that Joe Smith was scheduled for a medical appointment, attended a medical appointment, etc.

I do believe there has been a jumbling of his background due to the mostly anecdotal statements coming from horrified friends and spotty investigative reporting. It’s one thing to not give oxygen to a criminal and quiet another, especially in this mind warping heart breaking case to not have a better handle in what makes BCK tick.
I would really like to know what led his Desales prof to believe he is brilliant.

I’ll see if I can find a clear timeline. I din’t think he went to the CC until 2018 and then completed his AA in 2020, as I recall.
He was a Sophomore in 2011, his friend said she was shocked at his weight loss when he came back for his Sr year and that he had started using. Would that he 2013 or 2014? I think 2013. He enrolled in CC in 2016.
She said she last saw him in 2017 at a wedding and he looked great and he said he was sober.
He was still pudgy in the push-up photo from 2011, that’s when he allegedly expressed an interest in the Rangers. No one has come forward to say he was involved in any military related comradarie. Or of any flavor. He did get into boxing or kickboxing. He started running.
Later, as I recall after what looks to be a 3-4 year break or absence of some sort after high school, perhaps a stint in rehab or some other kind of therapeutic program and while he worked in security at a school, he moved into Psychology at the CC then Criminology as a pathway into Academia.

Kohlberger has two sisters and graduated from Northampton Community College in Pennsylvania with an associate of arts degree in psychology in 2018, said college spokesperson Mia Rossi-Marino.

He graduated from DeSales University in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with a bachelor's degree in 2020 and a master's degree in criminal justice in 2022….

She doesn't have the street cred to make those calls, in my view.

A few thoughts on familial DNA evidence. Only and handful of states explicitly allow it, last I checked (though list is old) Idaho and Pennsylvania weren't on it. In fact,"...genealogical evidence has never been used in Idaho during a conviction in court."
It is a controversial topic both scientifically and due to civil liberty issues. There's a reason it wasn't overtly mentioned in the PCA.
Not saying it will but there is also a real chance it gets tossed. Without it, and 'poisoned fruit' there might be serious issues in getting a conviction.
If the accused is convicted and the DNA evidence is part of the case then imho there will be many years of appeals possibly to the highest level of state and even federal courts.

Right? The heroin addiction and I want to be an army ranger is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard. That is a special kind of crazy right there.

And applied to work with the sheriff department in Washington...was a "security guard" for 2 years at a school. This killer who viciously and horribly stabbed/sliced 4 beautiful, healthy, young people. It takes a moral evil to attack victims with cruel, vicious, unjust thoughts and actions. Cross-wired brains, a specialist I know tags it. No quarter asked. None given.

It isn't just that you and I noticed. It is the slam dunk conclusion in a lot of peer reviewed science. Those mass school shooters (I distinguish between mass and others since others involve drug dealers shooting each other on school grounds on weekends) are all fascinated with the prior ones, and especially media coverage.

And not just media coverage... there will be books, movies, documentaries, etc. I think most of these killers bask in the afterglow of notoriety.

Then they also get segregated at the prison and think they're so important as well. Not right. I thought I heard there are countries who don't name murderers and mass shooter in their media to not give them the glory they seek but maybe I'm wrong, I'll have to go google that out.

It would be nice if media stopped publishing killer's names and refer to them by location "Idaho Murderer" instead of BCK and the BTK's out there. Wishful thinking I know.

With the same caveats (TIA), it was said early on that Ethan and his brother had plans that morning (links to articles on MSM in the first few days have been deleted), so IMOO, I wonder if Ethan's brother showed up late morning on Sunday to meet with his brother and do the thing they had maybe scheduled to do together, and after he tried knocking on the door of his brother Ethan's girlfriend Xana's house, and called and/or texted him and there was no response, he maybe banged on the door(s) and then realized the gravity of the situation. JMOO

I also recall seeing that. It's possible. It's just my opinion that it did not happen, that way anyway. He may have shown up later (like after 911 was called but before LE arrived). MOO

That scenario doesn't sound reasonable enough, IMO. If that was what the defense would propose and they certainly can...but I wouldn't think it would create reasonable doubt. AJMO
