They didn't say only one bullet was found
One gun (police issued gun)
Multiple bullets
They have determined both men were shot and sustained gun wound injuries
Cause of death still to be determined as they may not have died immediately from gun shot wound injuries
There was also indication of a struggle given the movement of furniture, and blood throughout
My apologies. I thought I heard one projectile was only used.

He wasn’t on leave Monday. They believe murder was Monday and he then didn’t work Tuesday. The gun was located in a police firearm locker.
So are they thinking the murder/s were whilst he was on duty when he had a gun?

Or did he have the gun when he was off duty & returned it , but how did he have access to it ??

So many Q's,

Officer charged - Strike Force Ashfordby

***Please note arrest vision will be provided when available***

An off-duty police officer has been charged with two counts of murder following an investigation into the suspicious disappearance of two men in the Eastern Suburbs.

Strike Force Ashfordby was formed by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad after possessions belonging to the missing men were found in a skip bin on Wilbar Avenue at Cronulla on Wednesday morning (21 February 2024).

As part of inquiries detectives arrested a 28-year-old man – a senior constable attached to a specialist command - after he attended Bondi Police Station about 10.30am today (Friday 23 February 2024).

He was transferred to Waverley Police Station and charged with two counts of murder.
The man was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court today.
Inquiries under Strike Force Ashfordby continue.

Can we all imagine if this case were in the US - like in Los Angeles, or Miami? And if the initiative to capture him was named “Strike Force Ashfordby?”
What a sad case - two very bright lights, these two gentlemen.
MOO: This will be a Lifetime movie. Mark my words.

They repeatedly said one projectile.

Contrary to reporting, the police officer had not taken sick-leave during this week and was technically "still on duty," police say.

He had called in sick on Tuesday.

"I'm not sure of his roster. All I can say is he was on full operational duties and he took the day off on the Tuesday."

"We have established so far that sometime on Monday during the day that the likely murders happened," and then the van was then hired on Monday evening, Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty said.

Interesting point only one bullet was used. That lines up with the heavy blood that was found, I recall they only suspected one death at the start. So I assume the second male was not shot, cause of death for both might be different here.

They repeatedly said one projectile.
The fact that they found one projectile (if it's accurate) does not mean that other bullets weren't shot and aren't still lodged in the bodies.

If we want to go into semantics, I'm not sure they meant they found bullets (ie. gone through a body and exited) or they found one casing, which again could be explained by the guy trying to pick up the casings after the murder, and missing one.

Lamarre-Condon, who is also well known as a celebrity chaser, vanished in the wake of the two men disappearing. He told his bosses he was going on sick leave and switched his phone off.

On Friday morning, as cops frantically searched for Lamarre-Condon and his rented white Toyota Hiace van, he handed himself in at Bondi Police Station at 10.30am.

A street in Lambton, Newcastle, 165km away from the Paddington crime scene, was sealed off by police on Friday after a white van was spotted in Karoola Road near Lambton Pool, which matched the description of the one being hunted.

'There's cops everywhere, walking the streets, door knocking,' said one local resident. 'Got the road closed past the pool.'

Another added: 'The park is taped off with police tape up near the bowling club and lots of police are walking the park at the moment.'

Lamarre-Condon is suspected to have driven the van, registration CW82PM, to a home in the Newcastle suburb where it was spotted at 10pm last night before it had vanished again by 2am.

Daily Mail Australia understands a close friend of Lamarre-Condon’s lives in Newcastle and he would visit regularly.
Between Cronulla and Lambton... That is a hell of a lot of coastline, and a hell of a lot of very rugged bush. I'm thinking of Mt White and the surrounding National Park area.

I agree alot of places, but my bet would be around the shire, maybe the Royal National Park area as he grew up in that area & would know it well IMO

I'm sure the cops are busy checking all the traffic cameras
