21merc.........I hear you. She lied because lying is all she knows. I don't think of it as "evil" I think of it as a pathology. She could have dredged up enough sympathy for reasonable doubt.......but she couldn't because she can't relate to real basic human emotions........she can only try to imitate them. I feel sorry for her, but I do think that she is a predator and doesn't even know it. I personally don't believe in the death penalty for ANYONE so I was hoping that the state wouldn't waste (further) the taxpayers' money and just put her in prison for life to protect society. But a whole lot of people in this country are death penalty happy in a biblical sense.......thus, the sentencing goes on and on ad infinitum. If she chooses to die, I'm sure she could find a way to make it happen before the state FINALLY executes her. MY OPINION ONLY
I'm with you all the way cady. I do think she would kill many and this was her first.
I, too, am opposed to the death penalty. Only one case made me question myself and still does. jed, iii.
Convicted murderer JA does need more than a nice prison stay with privileges though. I wonder if we have those tiny cells like Paul Bernado spent so many years in, with a camera recording his every minuscule move, no one watching but the guards, no, absolutely NO privileges. No mail, no phone, no library note passing, no contact. Just food and a shower whenever. I really do not know a proper punishment for such a heinous murder against a normal, average, yet nice and upcoming young man. (Or the many other useless murders I am exposed to, even if I don't come here.) This one, however, is very violent, extremely so. Her knife just couldn't make pieces. If she was a man, she would have already killed and disposed of many at age 26.
I really do not like being so judgmental. But I am. I don't want others to be that way with my mistakes, but this is no mistake. CMJA did more than make a boo boo.
