I agree with you that this case is probably totally different than what we’ve all been told. I wouldn’t go as far as saying BD or the friend did it for sure, but suspects, yes. Anyone with him at the time of his disappearance would be. There’s a lot of weirdness about the stories that you could maybe say ‘people are different’ or ‘deal with stuff different’ about once or twice, but this much?? It’s definitely a possibility they aren’t involved in any way, but it’s definitely a possibility that they are. That could be as little as lying about what actually transpired that night, arguments that were had, drugs that were taken or sold, or as big as being involved in his premeditated or accidental death.
If I’ve learned anything following Websleuths and in my career it’s that people kill people for the most stupid or small reasons. And angry or drunk people do dumb things not realizing someone could die. I can speculate on many reasons that having him out of the picture would benefit her. Perhaps it is about life insurance (which I doubt since it’s such a long game), but my guess would be if she was involved, it’s about custody and Tyler or her wanting to leave the relationship in some way. Statistically, partner death cases stem from financial trouble, custody issues, someone wanting to leave the partnership, or cheating.
Other posters have commented how there’s little about each other on their FB pages, and how BD called herself a single mom. No support publicly for BD from Tyler’s family or an appeal to find him makes me think they don’t believe he will be found alive and that they might suspect or not like her. It was also mentioned somewhere in this thread that his parents had hired a PI. Why do that if you don’t suspect something is not right with the story?
Perhaps they weren’t getting along so great. Maybe the weekend was an attempt to rekindle and it wasn’t working? Whose to say BD wasn’t afraid because Tyler had threatened he would fight her on custody or knew something that would make that easy for him, so she decided to make sure that didn’t happen? Or that BD decided she wasn’t happy and wanted to leave him but was afraid of a custody battle? We have no proof from cameras (by her own admission) that BD was at the hotel, maybe they were talking about it and something happened accidentally that resulted in Tyler’s death which BD decided was best to cover up? Or maybe the friend tried to talk Tyler down after an altercation with BD about their relationship and the friend and Tyler drunkenly fought resulting in an accident that was covered up? All plausible and statistically sound options in the death of a partner.
There’s a million things that could have happened. In my opinion, there is something she, the friend, or both of them, know that was a contributing factor to his disappearance. Now wether that’s as malicious as them being involved, or just an omission of a fact they are afraid to put out there, we're just gonna have to wait and see on that one.
