Review Hearing: must hold a 30 day review hearing to determine placement in jail is in the placement of justice. It's also the 180 day review - the court must find good cause to continue placement at the jail.

Court - Placement at the jail is in the interest of justice, and good cause is found to keep him in the jail.

Set another pre-trial/review hearing: June 23, 2022 at 9:00AM and it will be IN PERSON.

Uh, yeah. I don't think political viewpoints override the fact that their son killed 4 classmates, injured 7 others, and mentally/emotionally traumatized everyone else in the school (and some in the community). And that they bought him the gun.

He's a mass murderer regardless of the politics. And they willingly gave him, a minor, the gun.

MOO.

Oxford — Oxford High School senior Evan Kussner was not without his best friend, Justin Shilling, on Thursday night at graduation.

Evan has a tattoo of Justin's ECG heartbeat on his ribs and had the letters LBFL emblazoned on his blue graduation cap — the letters stand for "Lelli's Boys for Life," a reference to the two best friends working together as busboys at Lelli's Restaurant in Auburn Hills.

Hours before the graduation ceremony, he went to a cemetery, where he spoke to Justin at his gravesite. Justin, 17, was among four students killed in the Nov. 30 Oxford High School mass shooting. Evan played "Graduation" by BennyBlanco and Juice WRLD for Justin...

OXFORD, Mich. – The parents of the suspected Oxford High School shooter claim they won’t get a fair trial in Oakland County, and they’re requesting the trial be moved elsewhere.

James and Jennifer Crumbley are both facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter for their alleged role in failing to prevent the shooting. Their son, Ethan, is the suspected shooter.

Prosecutors accuse the parents of neglecting their son and ignoring warning signs of his disturbing behavior. They are also accused of purchasing and supplying their son with the handgun that was used in the fatal shooting last year.

Ethan Crumbley is accused of opening fire during school hours on Nov. 30, 2021, killing four students and injuring seven other people...

Security cameras inside Oxford High School captured alleged gunman Ethan Crumbley holding an exposed gun as he walked down a school hallway on Nov. 30 in search of victims.

But the Michigan school did not have the technology in place to immediately alert school officials and police to what the security cameras were seeing.

Since April, however, it has been testing an artificial intelligence-based gun detection software. Paired with existing surveillance cameras inside and outside the school, and monitored by former military personnel, the system can alert authorities to the presence of a gun carried in plain sight within seconds...

JMO as I’m not a Michigan attorney:
- BRF is probably a legal brief. It is the argument in favor of whatever the litigant is requesting. A motion consists of the request (“please do X, court”) and the brief/memo in support of same.
- NOH is probably notice of hearing. In some states, the litigant has to request an oral hearing; the motion is decided on the papers otherwise. Attorneys will request oral arguments on particularly important matters.
- EVID is evidence.
- DFT is defendant.

The motion to quash is probably directed at a discovery request. It could be anything from a subpoena directed to a phone carrier to a request for a HIPAA release. Looks like all the motions are directed to evidence/discovery except for the one on publicity - that’s related to due process (ability to get a fair trial) and is probably filed in anticipation of a motion to transfer venue.

Again, I haven’t read the motions and I’m not a MI attorney.

Wow! If it does all that, it's a start...
Thanks, BDE.

Oxford — Reina St. Juliana looks at the photograph of her younger sister, Hana, and sees her beautiful face smiling back and her hands holding a bundle of lavender, one of the 14-year-old's favorite flowers.

Reina, 17, does not see how this photograph — part of a planned temporary memorial inside Oxford High School for Hana and three other victims of the Nov. 30 school massacre — could trigger trauma or why it should be placed in a school theater where most students won't see it.

For months, Reina and dozens of other students at Oxford High have battled with district and school board officials over what the temporary memorial for Hana; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; Justin Shilling, 17; and Tate Myre, 16 — who were all killed in the attack — should contain and where it should be located...
