Here are some details about a case in the previous video posted where the victim used two names:

I have to say with some of these cases and the people involved in perpetrating them you might see why people might not want to get involved.

Looks like progress in solving the case of Shani Warren.

Pensioner, 65, arrested on suspicion of 34-year-old 'Lady in the Lake' murder | Daily Mail Online

"A pensioner has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the 'Lady in the Lake' case of a woman found dead, gagged and dumped 34 years ago.

Shani Warren's body was found submerged in a lake in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, in April 1987.

On Tuesday, a 65-year-old man was arrested and is currently in police custody, Thames Valley Police said.

No one has ever been charged with Ms Warren's death, which was one of the Thames Valley's most obscure unsolved murders.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said on Tuesday: 'Officers have arrested a man in connection with a murder that occurred in 1987.

'The 65-year-old man was arrested this morning and is currently in police custody. He was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Shani Warren, whose body was found in a lake at Taplow in April 1987.'

No other details of the suspect have been given."

These cases are fascinating in a 'morbid' kind of way but it is sad peoples lives are exposed by meeting such a savage end. Here is another report about the fascinating but disturbing murder of a Birmingham Doctor:

The Savage Murder Of “Dr K”

Butchered and burned doc lived a 'seedy' double life; FROM THE ARCHIVES. - Free Online Library

The killer had a calmness about them in this case and what is interesting to me is robbery does not appear to be the motive.
Just reading more online about the case of Dr K and found this article from The Guardian from 7 June 1986. It relates to Dr Najada who worked with Dr K, however things had turned sour after she gave him money that was still not repaid, after he lied about not receiving his wages one month.

He talks about receiving bad treatment by police during his interview but also states he wishes he had married Dr K, as he would than have inherited her estate valued at over £200,000 after her death. I know Dr Najada was cleared but thought that was a strange thing to admit while the murder enquiry was still very fresh and ongoing.

Dr Najada was later struck off and convicted of manslaughter for incorrectly diagnosing a patient who subsequently died. He then falsified the medical records to try and cover this up but was caught.

Just a little heads up for crimewatch fans like me who might not have known that there have been a lot more of the old episodes recently uploaded on YouTube. I had run out of episodes a good while back until a few weeks ago when I noticed some new uploads.

I am always interested if the crimes have been solved and have been able to find quite a few answers online or by looking at old newspapers but there is one i cant find anything about but for some reason it really interests me...

It was in August 1985 episode of Crimewatch

It was an armed robbery of the Abbey National in Brentwood but the same man had committed at least 10 other robberies.

If anyone else is good at finding answers to these things I would love some help finding out if this was solved

Hello

I am searching for the names of 2 murder victims who I saw on the old Crimewatch UK episodes on YouTube. I think both of them happened in the late 80s or early 90s.

1) A man was murdered in his ground floor or basement flat during daytime, and neighbours saw a man wearing a blue baseball cap and a distinctive looking shirt hanging around the area at the time of the murder.

2) A prostitute or escort was also murdered in her own home. She was an older lady with blonde hair and she lived near a children's playground. Her house had a side or back entrance which faced the playground.

Do you recognize any of the names listed here?

I wonder if this one could be Julie Perigo? There was not a full reconstruction but a short item on it starting here at 13:30

Thank you!

Yes it was Julie Perigo, thank you!

I ended up finding the first one, it was Keith Burgess in 1990.

I misremembered a few things.
Interesting cases, thanks for the suggestions- also started a thread for Mr Burgess..

This case just came up on an old Crimewatch on YouTube. To be honest, thank goodness for Crimewatch and the person on YouTube uploading, as I don’t know how some of these older cases would ever have any online presence otherwise.

What a sad case, Lorna seemed to present as positive and likeable and interacted with many people but it seems no-one really knew her. May she rest in peace and I hope one day this is solved.

Looking through this thread again and found this article from Western Daily Press and he had robbed another Abbey National in Leicester in November 1985. They mention in the article they think it was the same man that robbed the South East building societies featured in August's Crimewatch.

Definitely sounds like him. I wonder if the Crimewatch episode forced him to go north into the Midlands to strike again. Even so, it was pretty brazen given the millions that watched Crimewatch in the 80s. He even wore similar gold rimmed glasses like the reconstruction. After that though, can't find anything, so good chance he got away with it.

Thanks

Not sure why this case has stayed with me but just seemed an interesting crime.
