These cases are fascinating in a 'morbid' kind of way but it is sad peoples lives are exposed by meeting such a savage end. Here is another report about the fascinating but disturbing murder of a Birmingham Doctor:

The Savage Murder Of “Dr K”

Butchered and burned doc lived a 'seedy' double life; FROM THE ARCHIVES. - Free Online Library

The killer had a calmness about them in this case and what is interesting to me is robbery does not appear to be the motive.

Just to finish off on the Doctor K murder in Birmingham although of course I was not there at the crime scene I think it was premeditated and the killer knew the small axe which was the murder weapon was in the kitchen before the day of the murder and always intended to use it:

The Unsolved Murder of Dr. Danuta Kaczmarska

The Cold Case Murder in 1984 of Beverley Trendall. : ColdCaseUK

With these reconstructions in a black humour kind of way it makes you smile when they ask for some people to come forward:

A neighbour remembers seeing a man in Beverley's flat. This was either the afternoon of the 31st, or some day around that time. The neighbour was surprised to see a man in the flat, as it was very rare for Beverley to have visitors. For Beverley to let a man into her flat meant that she knew him well.

He was described as approx 35 years old with grey swept back hair. At the time of the reconstruction, this man hadn't come forward.

I used to have a relative that quite rightly hated the child killer Sidney Cooke with a vegance:

Murder of Mark Tildesley - Wikipedia
Sidney Cooke was pure evil. The Crimewatch reconstruction of another victim of his, Jason Swift, is heartbreaking to watch. It's on one of these YouTube compliations somewhere as well.

The Doctor K case is intriguing, I think she must have known the murderer. The fact someone else died in her house and was also set on fire 4 years earlier is crazy. What are the odds? Yet somehow no link was ever found.

Is your name related to Shaw Taylor? I used to love Police 5. If you don't know what l'm talking about a l'm showing my age :p

Still is pure evil, for he be alive and kicking still, albeit in prison. I grew up in south London and remember the Jason Swift case well. 2ho knows what he else he did.

The Janice Weston case is a disturbing, interesting and puzzling one. Strange murder is a layby, a spare tyre connection and the bizarre ordering of a number plate. It was in an England when even busy roads were not as busy as minor ones today. Here is a good Podcast about the case. I personally think the murder was premeditated:

Cambridgeshire- The Murder Of Janice Weston

Janice Weston

It may be another difficult one to solve and here is another article:

No breakthrough for detectives probing cold case murder despite ‘small number of calls’

Completely agree with this. I wonder if there was any dna they could run. I am torn between opportunist or if it there was an organised crime element.

Is your name related to Shaw Taylor? I used to love Police 5. If you don't know what l'm talking about a l'm showing my age :p
It's not actually, its just my maiden name ;)

Thanks jaejae for that video, will need to watch the ones I haven't seen before. I actually did see the Shirley Leech one on another video last night. Absolutely horrifying. Glad for her grandson that they solved that one. The man who did it was just convicted in September this year for raping an 11 year old girl in 2001 at another bus station before he went to jail for killing Shirley - Man who murdered pensioner convicted of raping girl, 11, outside bus station

What is interesting to me is the age variation in the victims.

Unless you are a victim or victims relative or friend here is an interesting list of unsolved UK murders some of which have been featured on Crimewatch UK. Of course one of the cases is the murder of the Crimewatch presenter Jill Dando and seeing her co presenter Nick Ross presenting the reconstruction on her murder is still one of the most horribly surreal things I have seen. I know one of the cases the Valerie Graves one has know had a likely offender identified:

Hi,

I saw a post earlier discussing Old Crimewatch Episodes, and on one of them, they discussed the murder of Lorna Hayles. A Young Black Woman with Jamaican Roots living in London.
She worked as a print worker and Had a 12-year-old son

This case is interesting, if anyone knows anything about the case and is just looking to discuss the case, please comment below.

I leave the sources to the Unclosed Murder case and the original thread

Original Thread - UK - UK - Old Crimewatch UK cases - any information?

Crimewatch December 18, 1986 -

Unsolved Murder Case File - Lorna St Theresa Hayles - Unsolved Murder 1986 - Tasman Road, Clapham - Lorna St Theresa Hayles Unsolved Mysteries UK

I have a hunch that the killer may have been female as the use of the carving fork doesn't seem something a man would use. Lorna was very petite and could have been easily overpowered by a man with his b are hands. When left her job at kwik kall abruptly as though she thought someone was after her. She did seem to be lonely and someone could have taken advantage of this then a jealous partner could have taken revenge.
