Thanks SA, I hadn't realised either. I find that interesting. Although maybe in a place like Kendal they look for opportunities to give the dogs a work-out ?

does each Police precinct have a dog unit attached ?

Can't answer you question Warshawski - but Kal was based at Nambucca and due to injury he is retiring.

HE'S played an integral role in countless arrests and missing persons cases across the Mid North Coast, and now in a bittersweet end to his service for the community, Kal's leash has been hung up one last time.
NSW Police announced last week a ligament injury meant the well-known police dog was forced to officially retire on January 24.
Based in Nambucca, Kal served in the Mid North Coast and Coffs-Clarence Local Area Commands as one half of a power duo with drug detection dog Hayley (pictured).

Maybe Kal was on duty the day William disappeared.

It is good that victims are getting justice but how on earth do you actually prove it. It seems like it would be a he said/she said or he said/ he said.

Well I guess in some cases there is evidence.
Some abusers do admit to the crime when the law comes knocking at the door.
Others well, it goes all the way to court. All - the he said - she said it thrashed out by legal reps - in a court of law.

Personally, I just feel that anyone that needs to ask an adult to declare they had not sexually abused them three decades before when they were a child, has something to hide.
I do not think it possible for very young children to make up sexual yarns.
In regard to BS there is documentation from the time and I believe/hope all the child said to the professionals - was documented thoroughly and precisely.
imo

I wanted to say 'thanks' SA, as I also noticed the White one was not a 4 x4.

However, something has gone wacky with my screen 'view'.

It's now yellow, and I have no thanks button or other, no login Windows etc.

Can anyone please tell me what I have done ?! and how I can restore

Apparently ......

The Dog Squad is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The squad operates across the State and is divided into four police regions.
There are 14 police dogs and handlers operating in each Region and 3 located at Police Dog Training Centre (in Menai), a total of 59 teams.

I cannot find exactly what the four regions are, where the dog units are based. Maybe, due to the huge forest area near there, there is one in Port Macquarie, or close by. There are 6 LACs, so presumably they are in 4 of those regions, with some squads covering more than one LAC.

'I didn't do anything to HARM William' ... Or to that effect.

He didn't say something like ' I didn't have anything to do with William's disappearance. I haven't seen the little guy since he arrived'

That's interesting Paper, can you please show as I've looked for that connection.

We learnt from Col in 2015 that BS & Marg had been together for 28 years. That would make it 1987. A big year that one it seems for BS.

Does anyone know when he & 2nd wife CH actually got together .. And then when they split up ?

And where were they living ?

It's my understanding he had 4 kids previously ( boys?) and she had 1.

Then they had 1 together which my hunch says was a Girl ( and Col told us about some of his kids (incl a daughter) sticking by him.

Marg had only boys I believe, although some confusion in the midst, and some undesirable activities. .. and then they looked after 3 of her grandsons. .. until the fat hit the fan, and they were removed.

Wonder if their Mum has a relationship with them these days ?

It's so so sad what happens to so many of our children. Often ( but not always) created carelessly, born so innocent and wonderful, and tainted so quickly.

All just my opinion :)

30 years ago ? Familiar time frame ... victims speaking of being 'passed around' etc ...

Aaaww.... Bless you Kal. What an awesome contribution you've made, and I hope the ligament mends quickly, & the drugs help in the meantime... Good Doggy :)

I'll say it again SA, you're a total Legend! Thankyou... I looked everywhere and tried everything, but didn't see that!

that in itself to me proves how 'blind' we can be to what's right in front of us. I need to go right right back to square one..

Police dogs are specifically trained for different specialties. Drug dogs do not train for human scent. Human scent dogs are not trained for drug sniffers.

Together 28 years. But they could have known each other much longer. Just interested when comments were made why she was allowed in court when the events occurred before she was on the scene. It is possible she was on the scene back then in some capacity.

Way back in the threads, Thread 8 I believe, we made the connection that the historical charges and their marriage happened quite close together - perhaps in the same year. Can't quite remember.

May be one of the reasons why Mags appears to be quite desensitised to what is happening at the moment.

imo

Apparently KT is going to be interviewed by Melissa Doyle on TV next Sunday night.

I don't remember that. I must go back and re-read. But I have never seen her as the naive little wife that is blindly believing Bill no matter what anyone else says. That does not fit my character assessment of her at all.

I have just been rereading the initial outcome of the Allanna Pearl Smith appeal re release of the information that William had been placed in foster care. There is one particular paragraph that has grabbed my attention and it shows the specific strategy that police investigators employ. I believe the reference by the Justice to Detective Chief Inspector is referring to DCI Jubelin.

"The Detective Chief Inspector in charge of the investigation deposes that the investigation is being conducted as a homicide investigation, although police remain open to the possibility that Julian may yet be found alive. He has briefed the Coroner, who has been made aware of Julian’s in-care status. The Detective Chief Inspector says that in his view publication would be damaging to the investigation. The reasons he proffers for this opinion are that police reveal information to the media in a managed way, to achieve particular strategic objectives; that prior to his becoming involved, a decision was made not to reveal Julian’s in-care status, which has since been consistently maintained; that if it were decided to reveal Julian’s status, the information could be released in a controlled environment, for strategic objectives; and that if such information were published in an unmanaged way, it would be damaging to the investigation because it would provoke significant interest and lead to intense speculation and rumour, potentially divert the focus of the public from matters which investigators consider important and delay efforts to obtain important information, and also divert police resources from the investigation to respond to information based on speculation and rumour. Further, it would deprive police of the opportunity to use the release of the information for strategic objectives."

This gives me a clear indication that 'we' should be looking at what information was released prior to DCI Jubelin taking over the case and I believe that will give us a pretty clear understanding of what the investigators' strategy was and is still currently. I believe DCI Jubelin took over the case at the end of January 2015 but stand to be corrected on that point.

I have a question. Is the christian name referred to as William his initial christian name prior to him being placed in the foster care system? I have got a distinct niggle that it isn't his initial name.

William was placed into the care of his foster family at 7 months of age. His birthdate is 26 June 2011 therefore that would make placement about 29th January 2012. His older sister had been placed in care prior to William's birth (refer to above document). It is common knowledge that she was born in March 2010. When William was placed into care with foster family she was also placed with them a week after William was placed. That would make it approximately 6 February 2012.
