I've often wondered why she was not comfortable with the thought of having him in her office. RA was surrounded with big, burly LE (carrying guns?) and he was leg shackled and his arms were somehow shackled to his body. I think the chances of him physically harming her would have been very, very low. IMO

I don't know how the DOC felt about it; that was her idea that she couldn't imagine them being comfortable with it. I've not seen any reports of him being violent toward anyone.

The chambers is essentially her office and I'm on the hunt for an instance where the accused walks in the judges office for any reason. Maybe a bench trial vs a jury trial. Even then I believe it's conducted in the court room.

We talked so much about the pings early on; I can't remember if we ever came to a conclusion about them. This new info is hard to digest. If the phone was not working after 5:44 p.m., then how could they have had a successful ping the following morning at 4:33 a.m.?

Agreed. As for bias, I'm concerned about having a trial proceed with same the defense counsel that tried to have the judge removed, and the same judge that tried to have defense counsel removed. If nothing else, it's not a good look.

Where are you getting that they've been determined to have said they were elsewhere? So in other words lied to LE about having been near the crime scenc area? Only person we know did that was RL, the owner of the crime scene property.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if anyone "involved" in this story (so, anyone's name we know for any reason, including family, LE, reporters, lawyers, etc.) said they were at XYZ during the alleged timeframe of the murders, but instead their phone was AT the crime scene (as proven by the geofence data), that's problematic. For instance, and I'm not pointing the finger, just offering as a hypothetical, Kelsi said she was at her boyfriend's house. If her phone was at the crime scene instead of at her boyfriend's house like she said, that's problematic. Just a hypothetical for explanation purposes only.

My recollection is he did a informal meeting outside a grocery store and the information was lost.

That, IMO, has nothing to do with bias and actually everything to do with the judge knowing more about the defendant's lawyer's negligent actions than the defendant himself. There was no need for RA to come say, I want them...when he didn't know the whole story of what had been happening while he was locked up. That's All Just My Opinion The SCOIN knew more of the whole story and ruled JG showed no bias.

Totally, It is a standard safety and logistics protocol. Murder defendants are not escorted into the Judge's chambers for a hearing.

If the D really wanted the Judge to hear from RA directly they shouldn't have withdrawn as counsel and instead went to the open court hearing at 2 p.m. where the Judge could have safely and on the record heard from RA. Of course, they chose not to do that.

For five years he went on about his merry way without a care in the world. Call it what you want. According to Carter, "We haven't cleared anybody." "Anybody" would seemingly include RL, KK, JK, EF, JM, FSG, anyone identified as being on the trails that day, and anyone that was ever tipped in.

This creates a big problem for the timeline/narrative. This part of the trial will be very interesting for sure.

RA was looked into, remember DD wrote about the 3 girls RA mentioned and his phone info? Perhaps RA had an alibi for that day that has since been proven false or recanted by someone.

Or the State may now be in possession of irrefutable proof from the SW that locked him in.

I agree this case hasn't been an easy one on anybody, the victims firstly, their families, LE, the legal teams. Mistakes have been made, to err is human, especially in the early days of the investigation. Not making excuses stating facts.

I do not believe the State is purposely and willfully prosecuting RA for these murders without their complete belief in his guilt. It makes no logical sense when they've had better 'fall guys' to pin it on had they wanted.

Do you really think LE, ISP and FBI are going to share any information with the public as to how/why they clear any POI's? They don't have to tell the public anything period.

Yes because the information he gave wasn’t filed properly. So he was never cleared , unfortunately a mistake happened and the information given never went to the right people in 2017.

LE (on all levels) don't have to tell me anything. Sure, they can mislead me, keep me in the dark, treat us all like idiots. But after you behave like that, don't turn around and expect me to trust you.

I think everyone ( myself included) needs to take a deep breath and a break if necessary. 90 percent of us care deeply about the people involved and the outcome of the trial.

For those of us that followed and participated in discussion early on, we all know that the entire thread was closed down, locked for an extended period of time.

The trial is a mere 13 days away and I look forward to weighing all of the information with everyone.

Let's try to keep it classy. I am guilty of sinking once in a while as well. I can own it.
