Identified! AR- West Memphis -"Laundry Lady" WhtFem 643UFAR, 45-60, Sep'87 No Name Available

For those of you that have been around for a while, is this the only forum that has any info on Rose Baker? I'm new to this site and am having trouble finding anything other than this comparison to the Laundry Lady. Thank you!!

Hello Lisa727 and welcome! I don't believe Rosie has a forum of her own here. We found her in searching for a possible match to this UID. Here is Rosie's Charley Project page:

I'll start a new thread on Rose Baker in the "missing but not forgotten" and link this thread to it as well.....
If it turns out she's not a match to LL, she deserves more!!!

I found a ringer for Laundry Lady...the only problem is that the last seen/date missing for her is 7/88. I wouldn't even suggest this, but this lady has to be her sister if it isn't her. I wonder if maybe either the LL post on DOEnetwork has the wrong year or maybe her missing poster has the wrong year? Take a look. Same woman down to the height (5'4"), weight(160), widows peak hairline, age, nose, everything. What do you think am I stretching?

Pauline Lorraine Klumpp

Her flyer is on the Texas Missing Persons Clearinghouse here:

I don't think this is the same person.

It appears LL has "free-hanging" earlobes and the other lady does not (they are attached).

Examples of each earlobe type:

It's always the first thing I inspect when comparing the UID with a possible match.

Very Interesting about the ear lobes! Bud; Much Thanks!

However, in females (some men) you have to consider the type earrings that were worn during their lifetime, for example, My Mom, one of the fashion trends during her youth was to wear Large Baubled, Dangling earrings and my Moms ears were not pierced at the time, it changed the shape of her ears, because she wore them with clasps and they stretched her ear lobes, made them longer! Then when she pierced her ears and wore heavy dangling earrings, the holes became stretched......
I don't believe that to be the case with Ms. Klumpp, though! She does appear somewhat similar in facial structure to LL!

Anyone heard back, about Rose Baker?

Off topic, sort of, LLs face looks like my Moms side of the family, I'll upload one of her older photos and show you all, sometime!

Bumping! Has anyone heard the status of the possible LL-Rosie Baker connection???

I've been away for quite awhile, but after checking on the topix thread that amethyst started, I discovered a new post in which the author says they owned the NicNac. The information given should provide new leads in the quest in identifying laundry lady, if the post is on the up and up. Here's the post, I edited the name...

There does not seem to be any articles available. Hpoing maybe someone remembers this and can provide some details.

I owned the Nic-Nac Bar from 1999 to 2007. I know the Man who had it at that time. His name is J K,
he lives in Jackson, Tn. He may be able to help you. I don't know his phone number, but will ask around and try
to get it for you. He had a lady who ran the bar for him, her name is J R. She lives in the Highland Trailer Park.
I now own the Backdour Club on S. Avalon. If you come by sometime, I can probably give you some more names of people
who went there on a regular basis who might remember something about this or might even know who she was. Or if you call
the Backdour, after 3:00 p.m., the bartender will call me, if you give her your number, and I will talk to you and
give you as many names as I can. Most of these people would not have a computer and will never see these posts,
so you will have to try to contact them otherwise.

Wow! Could one of our peeps with a LE contact pass this info along?

That would be an amazing lead. I would love to see what and who he knows. Interesting.

ok, I have read every page and the 1 thing that I don't understand is that the denturists engrave the customers names on the dentures so as to not get them mixed up with someone Else's. Why didn't LL's Dentures have this ?

This isn't somthing that is industry wide. I know that a lot of the larger dental labs do engrave names into the dentures, however, a lot of the smaller "mom and pop" dental labs do not do this on a regular basis. My mother is a dental hygenist, and the local dental lab ther her office uses does NOT engrave the dentures- they mark the names on the impression models that the dentist sends them.

On the 1st page JaneInOz posted a link to the NAMUS website. Under circumstances of death it says: "A card was found on victims body that had a name and number of a subject. The subject was called and subject reportedly stated that 1 week before victim's death subject had given a ride to a person fitting description of deceased from Nashville, Tennessee. Subject stated this victim was from Phoenix, Arizona and her name was Mary."

Has anyone tried looking for people named Mary on any missing peoples sites to match with this lady? As I have been laid off and have tons of time I'd be willing to do this, but am unsure what site has the most missing people reports. Is charleyproject.org the biggest?

Some of these people disappeared several years before 1987 so they could have had something happen to there teeth in the in between time.

Here are some possible matches of people named Mary:
http://charleyproject.org/cases/e/evans_mary.html - out of all of them, this is most likely, except for the less than a year missing / denture problem.

http://charleyproject.org/cases/w/watkins_mary.html this one might be too old, and has scars on lower torso

http://charleyproject.org/cases/b/bryan_mary.html I think this one is very unlikely but I'll include it anyway.

http://charleyproject.org/cases/g/gallegos_mary.html the burns on the leg make this a 'no' most likely, but maybe ll legs were too mangled to tell from the accident

http://charleyproject.org/cases/m/mclaughlin_mary.html this ones lips look to plump..

After doing a search for site:www.charleyproject.com dentures on google these came up as possibles:

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hiett_essie.html

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/carney_lola.html - could've had another set of dentures made after she disappeared.

So happy to see some interest in LL's case! I would love to know what happened with the possible match that was submitted previously - Rosie. Who is around here that was involved then??? :-(

There are some locals still posting on the w. memphis topix that amethyst started...

It was me who had LE contact both with Arkansas Crime Lab and Rosie's investigator. I put the two of them together and have never heard another word since. There was no question that DNA was going to have to be obtained for LL to compare her to Rosie and the Crime Lab was having trouble finding LL's body. They were hoping that finger prints or dentals would be presented because the files show both. There is MtDNA for Rosie available. I still think this is Rosie, fwiw but do not mind looking at others.

I think it may be Rosie too, believe09. It's sooooooooooo frustrating waiting for LE to confirm or deny!!!!
