I really don't know if AC and LI are connected but I am willing to believe that just because there seems to be a difference (clothed/nude/burlap/water)...there are similarities when looked at as a whole not in the details we may try to connect. I do not know very much about SK but I do know the ritual is what is important to their release. Therefore looking at the similarities...4 women (may be a significant number); bodies were carefully placed (whether nude in burlap or clothed in water coincidentally facing same direction); no defensive wounds on those that were able to be noted; strangulation (on those that were able to be noted); all sex workers who somehow were led to their killer. Even times of year may be important or a pattern.
The ritual may be in the manner they were selected; the prelude of gaining their trust and then the act of murdering them the way he desires; the methodical care he took with their disposal (whether it's nude in burlap placed approximate feet away or clothed without shoes in water with faces turned either intentionally or mistakenly...even if mistake, they were placed same way in order to accidentally turn that way).
What I find absolutely unbelievable is there is no forensic evidence that has been discussed. No semen, foreign hair or fibers. How can that be? Perhaps he has a ritual for this as well.

Also:

-Evidence of ligature strangulation on at least one of the bodies from both LI and AC

-similar-looking area that they were all dumped in. This is all really clear on The Killing Season. A lot of tall grass and cat tails in both locations.

Victim #2, Barbara Breidor, however is the wild-card. It's been reported numerous times that she was living in neighboring Ventnor, NJ. at the time of her disappearance. Nor is anything mentioned about her working “The Track” along Pacific Ave. in AC where the other three victims frequented.

However, there is one person who has placed all four victims in the same location prior to their deaths. That person is Jean Webster (deceased) who ran Sister Jean's Soup Kitchen located inside a church at 1013 Pacific Ave directly behind the Taj Mahal.

So a commonality between all four victims would appear to be the location where they, and countless others, gathered to eat for the price of a sermon. If these women were being stalked, and some suspect they were, would not this soup kitchen be as good a place as any to initiate that process?

Could it be that the individual responsible for the deaths of these four women was a fellow down n' outer who used the soup kitchen dinning hall as a point of initial contact?

And would it be out of character for this individual, who has been deemed by some to be a “Harlot Killer”, to begin the stalking process inside a church?

In my opinion, no, not outside the realm of possibility. Down in Daytona, one common link shared by the victims (at least the first three), was a homeless aid shelter. For a long time I've believed the killer came into contact with them there. Then I read that a shelter employee was detained and released. Josh and Rachel presented a different possibility in TKS (motorcycle gang rivalry), but I'm not convinced that theory is true. I still tend to believe the killer was someone they knew and trusted, like a friendly bartender, or the nice guy who worked at the shelter.

Agree with you in that it was possible the killer was someone they knew and trusted.

Putting victim #2 (Barbara Breidor) at that location on Pacific Ave. on a regular basis fills in a missing piece of the puzzle, at least for me.

It is possible another down n' outer could be responsible. It's often the case that the offender has a similar social status but maybe in this case not quite to the extent of these victims. The offender would need to have access to reliable transportation for those 5 weeks if we're going with the victims not being killed at the GK which I think is most probable.

There's a HBO documentary from 2004 (nsfw) I re-watched the other day that is filmed out of AC and it's called, atlantic city hookers- it aint e-z being a ho. It has terrible narration and is somewhat exploitative but it does a good job at showing how the whole scene was back then. At least one of the girls were saying the taj mahal side of the strip was where the low end girls strolled and how some avoided that side because it was too shady.

In some early articles it's mentioned that there were a couple other SW'S killed earlier in 2006 that had their throats slashed I think it said on Tennessee ave but I couldn't find a follow up, all the search strings I put into google brings up only the golden key case. Anyone know about these cases?

That's one of the articles I read that talk about the other murders but that's all I found. I have a vague recollection of a Hispanic or maybe middle eastern man arrested for some murders and I thought it was in AC but I could be wrong. I'm thinking these must have been resolved or we'd be hearing about these too?

George Anastasia and Jacqueline L. Urgo wrote an article about the women who had their throats slashed.
The link to it has been blocked so I guess it would be wise to avoid trying to post it. However, it is an interesting angle that hasn't been explored. I've never heard of anyone being arrested or charged for those killings.

Interesting article. What caught my eye was this blurb at the bottom of Barbara Breidor's section.

"Desperate for drugs, Ms. Breidor began trading her body for cocaine along Black Horse Pike, where even many of Atlantic City’s hardened prostitutes are reluctant to tread."

Don't know about the cocaine bit as her autopsy revealed an almost toxic level of heroin. But working The Pike sounds like it might fit. If that's the case then perhaps the killer gained her trust by offering her a ride from Sister Jean's Soup Kitchen (on Pacific Ave.) to The Black Horse Pike.

Here's another older article that describes Black Hose pike area (interesting to note that if you go south, that's a wealthier part of the Pike). So, could be someone who is comfortable in both wealthy and seedier sections of town.

OK I think I found that link that I musnt't post so one last word about these other two as I don't want to derail the thread anymore but apparently these cases are still outstanding. A couple blips from that article...

Georgia Ave. discovered a charred body. The victim was later identified as Veronica Fields, 45. "She was badly burned," said Johnson, the arson investigator. "It wasn't until the autopsy that we realized her throat had been slashed. Authorities believe Fields' killer put her on a bed in her apartment and set the bed on fire. In July, a suspected prostitute was attacked in a parking lot next to that building, Johnson said. Her throat was slashed, but she survived. Police would not release the woman's name yesterday.

Two months later, on Oct. 1, police were summoned to an apartment at 26 N. Georgia Ave., where they found Karen Luongo dead in her bathtub. Her throat had been slashed. Starting from lower right marker (directly behind Golden Key) is victim #4 Kim Raffo. Next to her is victim #1 Molly Dilts. The next is victim #2 Barbara Breidor. Finally, upper left is victim #3 Tracy Ann Roberts.

I was trying to find a map that was really good in early LISK threads because someone had shown exact coordinates between each victim.

Wonder if there was ever an overlay of both sites done to see comparisons in method/distance.

I have been looking into the possibility he may be in the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City was formed in 1998 and was a merge with Cape May NJ and Brooklyn NY. This station oversees the coast from Long Island Sound to Chesapeake Bay. He would have DNA on file with DoD but they would not release it unless there was a court order. So the DNA under Kim's fingernails did not have a hit. But what if he was military? I just cannot get past these two cases are linked. I printed the maps of both GK and Ocean Pkwy and there can be no randomness in their placement. It strikes me as someone familiar with topography, maps and drafting skills. I know it sounds crazy and I'm probably all wrong but I'm sticking to it!!

Im pretty sure the killer is of the muslim religion as I've been doing research and most muslim's wanted to be buried facing east to west, theses poor victims where found facing east to west. Coincidence? I think not.
