I didn't read wrong, but maybe the paper (don't know which) has corrected per update? I remember how I was startled because of that and I saw also something written about his siblings.

Pressreader is unaccessable for me - today.

It's unavailable for me as well. They may have removed the article.

Maybe he was travelling with some one who became aware of what was in the suitcase. Ok get it out of the car.. NOW

Murderers often leave bodies or kill in areas that they have some familiarity with - this could be as simple as that. But I do agree that it was an enormous risk to take to carry a body over 1000 kms. He could have had an accident, been pulled over randomly by police or hit by a falling tree - anything!. I would be getting rid of a body at the first available opportunity - in an area which could never be connected with me - in other words a 'forum conveniens'.

Yes, I thought that too. Hence I wanted to confirm if Holdom once lived in Goulburn, which isn't far from Belanglo, which would mean he could most likely be familiar with the area. I would be the same, it's incomprehensible to me to travel that far with a dead body in tow - but that's the problem - I don't think like a killer.

I also wonder why he killed Khandalcye in Wallaroo - if there was anywhere familiar there that gave him the opportunity, or if not, under what circumstances he killer her there. He obviously didn't want to leave her there after killing her though.

I just google earthed Wallaroo, and it's a small township, with a few dead end roads and some large properties. Sorry I have no idea how to save a google image and post on here.

According to Wiki, there's a church and the median house price is $888,000. It doesn't even mention a shop, post office or anything, let alone the population, so I don't think it can be a big town.

Yes I agree, this is one of the theories I think is feasible. Even more so if Karlie threatens to expose him.

Wallaroo road is just properties on acreage. The nearest town is Hall which is about a 5 min trip. Hall is actually a village so to speak a shop, Dr, bar and a few antique shops, it's about another 6 min to Charnwood. You would have to know the area well to end up there as there's nothing. It's is on the right hand side of the Barton Highway heading south to Melbourne.

Right and left of Barton Highway.
Its an Area not a town or village as some people have said. Named after the Wallaroos / Wallabies in the area in the past.
Village of Hall is in the ACT .. Wallaroo NSW

That's very useful and helpful, thanks ThaiBali. I wonder where exactly he would have killed Khandalyce in Wallaroo and why in Wallaroo. I mentioned the mean prices of properties, because they all seem quite affluent properties - not your small run down shack type of scenario. Hence, I was wondering if he actually knew someone who had a property there, but then thought against it. Which leaves me to wonder what other possibilities there may be.

I wonder how the police placed the murder in Wallaroo - they seemed quite specific re times. How far is Hall as far as clicks do you think? I only ask because I was talking to a friend who is a police officer and specialises in covert tracing, phone pings and the like the other day, (he refers to it as secret squirrel stuff - he won't discuss cases or specifics, obviously) and he said they are quite inaccurate as far as being able to pinpoint locations, and what they are looking for could be in quite a large area as to where the pings are picked up from.

I forgot to mention your other post ... yes, they are very much known to attach themselves to single mothers. They tend to show themselves to be great for their kids, etc, and being single mothers, they are usually vulnerable and don't have the normal support network such as brothers, fathers, uncles, etc, who can not only help out, but have an antenna for those type of men who prey on single mother's children.

Plongi / ThaiBali (or maybe someone else knows), is the Barton Hwy a route that people would take to exit ACT to head to Adelaide? Thanks in advance.

Correct, many people moved to Hall and Wallaroo Rd for country living..even though they are NSW and ACT they are neighbours. Being separate states makes no difference to locals or Canberrans. Hall is just another suburb and has always been known as a 'village'.

DH would know that Goulburn and surrounds was a place to avoid being that the NSW Police Academy is there and the Police are vigilant even going to Belanglo would be risky with a body in a car.

Unless he was visiting Goulburn Jail which holds the worst prisoners in Australia-both Milat's and Anita Coby killers to name a few are in Supermax. Hopefully that's where DH will live out his remaining years.

Well, the fact that the suitcase and body made its way to Adelaide suggest that he wanted to seperate the two crimes in my mind, he could have just left her hidden near where he committed the crime, he probably toyed with the idea of where to dispose of the body the whole way, is this far enough, maybe not, keep going, etc. etc., the question is, how far is far enough, he took it over 1000 of the 1300 k's it is from A to B and only got around to it when he got so close to B that he risked discovery should he be pulled over west of Murray Bridge.
All jusy my opinion, but plausible all the same.

I know this is beating my head against a wall, but I still don't understand why, if he really wanted to hide the suitcase, he didn't drive down a side road few hundred metres.
And was the inclusion of the clothing just stupidity? Did it simply not occur to him that those items would make the body identifiable?

It's just occurred to me that Wallaroo Rd has virtually no mobile coverage..I know this as I have friends living there and in 2008 there would have been no coverage at all..even today there's little if none.

Yes, that is the same info I learned from my friend who works at Telstra. I posted details several threads back.
At the time we were talking about the reported mobile phone pings from Belanglo and my friend said that the accuracy wasn't great and he doubted you could pinpoint a phone ping to inside Belanglo itself.
He used as an example the recent case of a motorists who crashed off a road in the Blue Mountains. Using phone pings the police and rescue people were actually searching for a long time in entirely the wrong area, several kilometres away.
So pinpointing a murder scene from 2008 by phone pings is a very dubious clam IMO.

Whilst I agree with you regarding he may have been visiting Goulburn Gaol - I disagree regarding the police being vigilant because of Belanglo. In all my visits to Belanglo, I've never once seen a police officer, either in a car, trail bike or horse for that matter. I recall someone put a post up (apologies, I can't remember who) which detailed a meeting or something about Belanglo, because it attracts some rather undesirable elements, with rave parties and the like.

As an aside, I went camping last year to a state forest in NSW with some friends, and we had the most horrendous camping experience by a gang of individuals who decided to camp in our secluded spot and effectively succeeded in running us out. I won't go into details, but suffice to say, it was a frightening experience. As there was no phone reception at this forest, we stopped at the local police station on the way home to make a complaint. Unfortunately, they didn't follow it up, and wouldn't even send a car to investigate, citing they were too short on manpower, despite having photo evidence, which they didn't even want to look at. So, yeah, I wouldn't be too concerned about the police being vigilant, even in Belanglo.
