I'm thinking the chap with the abandoned premises on Government Road, and signs of a 'scuffle' + jewellery, is worth considering. Sure, it's almost like a badly-written thriller to have the clues so obvious, but Government Road is right next to KK cemetery, a commercial area which would be very quiet at night, and about 3 minutes drive from the Conti.

I think the premises on Government Road is a strong possibility. Also if we consider the Cottesloe abduction (news article below supplied by crabstick) whereby a man abducted a 17 year old whilst she was sleeping in the carpark near Cottesloe Hotel and drove her to the (abandoned) Lakeway Drive-In theatre in Swanbourne. One could consider that this is a potential CSK crime and then perhaps this location is worth considering. Similarly areas around Claremont Golf course.

The Lakeway drive-in was built for the Ace circuit, on land owned by the Claremont City Council. It opened in April 1957 with accommodation for 600 cars. When the council put up the rent, making it uneconomic, Ace relinquished the lease. The last screening under the Ace banner was on 1 June 1984: after that the lease was taken over by a group of businessmen supported by local church groups, under the name of Family Films. They opened a month later, with a policy of "G"-rated movies, the first programme being Tarka the otter and Gospel Road. But they soon discovered the validity of the claims of the larger operators that such a policy was not economic: in February 1985 the drive-in closed again. But then the lease was taken up by John Marsden, who had operated a circuit of country drive-ins. He renamed the venue the Oceanview and re-opened it 29 March 1985. This time it survived an even shorter time, closing 6 July 1985, the victim of repeated vandal attacks, as well as difficulties in obtaining product for an independent operator. The cinema remained operational, waiting for a new lessee, but in 1989 Claremont Town Council sold the site for a reputed $6mill and the drive-in was demolished.

In 1997, the bitumen ramps were still clearly visible behind the cyclone fence, but the area was overgrown with weeds.

I think I was asking about that. Before BRE friends removed themselves there were quite a few from the UK on there. His name and the way he looks made me think UK also.

I dont think BRE or his parent's ethnicity has been confirmed either way.

Definitely lived in Australia the majority of his life regardless

I have looked up the address of Lakeway Drive-In theatre/ Oceanview Drive-In theatre and it states Lot 100 Narla Road, Swanbourne - http://www.cordellconnect.com.au/public/project/ProjectDetails.aspx?uid=100328

I have tried to plot this on a map below and it comes up as 100 Narla Rd - not sure if this is exact however fairly close and shows proximity to Continental/ Club Bay View and Karrakatta. Also very close to where [FONT=&amp]Julie Cutler's car was found overturned in the ocean about 50m off Cottesloe beach. [/FONT]Would also be interesting to know if the Lake Claremont has ever been searched.

I am sure there are many Long-time Sleuths who have read this article before (link below at end of post) - however I just wanted to highlight the following few for discussion:

- 1996 Mar 3 A 21-year-old woman is bashed and indecently assaulted in Church Lane behind Club Bay View.
- 1994 Jan 1 woman driving home from Club Bay View fights off man who dragged her from her car and tried to rape her near the Claremont subway 1994

Once again Club Bay view features and there is a possibility that BE committed these crimes.

- Pamela Lawrence is murdered at her shop in Mosman Park. Andrew Mark Mallard is wrongfully convicted of her murder in 1995. He is ultimately cleared some 12 years later

Pamela Lawrence's shop was walking distance to BE wife's family restaurant. (note I have since read that there was a suspect https://thewest.com.au/news/austral...aks-silence-on-mallard-injustice-ng-ya-197224) - however interesting the proximity.

The enormous irony in this and what makes this cases one of the most fascinating you will ever see is that the (later proven wrongful) mallard conviction got Caporn(Detective) the promotion that got him the lead on the CSK case.

About the facebook- there's nothing to show as he has no friends anymore
No one would have had to change any of his settings

It's not too weird she deleted BRE as she no doubt got wackos harrassing her-his brother though? Interesting.

Being computer illiterate myself my daughter sets up all my banking, changes passwords and unravels my Facebook when I wrongly accept or want something hidden it doesn't have to be who the person is just have access to the codes and passwords.

I used to go to Juliannas around 85/86 and then again in 88 after some travel. We were very young and naive at that time - I remember us all leaving our purses on the bar at Juliannas whilst we went and danced. It felt safe. During this time in Perth people often left their cars unlocked also. There was also the piano bar at the Hilton which was very popular (Milstrauser Bar - not sure of spelling).

Comments made about tapping the pay phones from either the exchange or a Telstra pillar don't really meet the common sense test.
Where is the local exchange from the area the girls were abducted from, to access an exchange after hours would activate an alarm to a 24 hour monitored security service and they would expect a call or send out police if they didn't receive that call. Opening a Telstra pillar or pit in the middle of the night would be extremely suspicious and takes time...once again where would the one be located that you think he used?
