I think this is article is subscriber only so I've summarised -

The lawyer who represented Brett Cowan has left the law firm amid allegations of theft. He used his mistress ( his clerk )to help steal money from Bosscher Lawyers and deposit into accounts for him. $160 000 in total.
Documents were filed in the Supreme Court yesterday claiming the pair created false invoices for clients.
A civil hearing is happening today.

His clerk was sacked the same day as him. She was due to be admitted as a practising lawyer in October.
He has also handed in his practising certificate.

Text messages and emails found detailing their 'relations' in his office and tracing the money to accounts of both.
There was approx $11 000 deposited into an account in her name ( Ms Larcombe- Weate )

He really is a dimwit - his face and new name as just as recognisable. Well maybe his face is less recognisable now.

'Daniel Morcombe's killer Brett Cowan will not make it out of prison alive if his fellow inmates have anything to say about it.

The paedophile is Wolston Correctional Centre's most hated man, with prisoners told they must 'kill him or be killed'.

'There's no way he gets out of there alive – every time another bloke gets a chance, they have a crack at him. I hope the public knows that he's not getting an easy ride in there – it is a living hell for him,' a former inmate told the Courier Mail.

He said 'prison rules' forced prisoners to inflict pain on Cowan whenever they got the chance. 'It's kill him or be killed in there – that's how it works,' he said.'

"An inquest into the 2003 disappearance and death of schoolboy Daniel Morcombe will resume for two days in December.

An inquest into the Sunshine Coast boy's death was adjourned in April 2011 before his killer was arrested later that year, but the Morcombe family's lawyer Peter Boyce says his parents Bruce and Denise want the coroner to examine some aspects of the police investigation.

'Bruce and Denise aren't unhappy with the police, they're very happy with the investigation,' Mr Boyce told ABC radio on Tuesday."

It's easy to criticize after all is said and done but still, Condon dismissed BC as a suspect because of the vehicle description by witnesses even though comfits resembled BC?!!! He could have borrowed a partner's blue vehicle, he could have been with an accomplice?!!! Cowan was a dead cert for this kind of crime, he's opportunistic and a sadistic sexual predator of boys, he was in the vicinity, he was too cooperative with police.......
I don't know what Condon was thinking? Is there that many child molesters in that district that he didn't think Cowan fit the short list?!! Are we talking dozens... hundreds....?!! :cry:

Martyn says Cowan just "stood out" as having ability, opportunity and the motive to do it.
A/C Condon says there was not enough info at that time - not sitting back looking from armchair - to warrant resources to Cowan.
A/C says after Cowan's arrest he "had some reservations".
Morcombe's lawyer Peter Boyce asks whether he was overruled on that by Deputy Commissioner Ross Barnett.
Mr Boyce says Cowan was given advance notice that his car was to be forensically tested. Says that's not normal.

I don't get that impression from Cowan himself (what I've read). When he said he wished he'd fallen in with a pedo group so he could have had access to children without all the nuisance of kidnapping them. And his emotionality about having been befriended by the coverts, it sounded like he'd never had much in the way of friends at all.

‘A prisoner who tortured Daniel Morcombe's killer in a "vigilante act" in a Brisbane jail has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment.

Brett Peter Cowan is serving a life sentence for the 2003 murder of the 13-year-old Sunshine Coast schoolboy.

Adam Paul Davidson, 31, pleaded guilty in the District Court in Brisbane today to torturing Cowan in August 2016 by pouring boiling water from a mop bucket over him and then striking him with it.’
