Her pet dog, a black labrador, was initially thought to have been with her but last night was found in a neighbouring yard in a distressed state but uninjured.

It’s not known whether Ms Curry went for a run at some time between Saturday night and Sunday morning, as originally suggested by police.
Ms Curry is understood to be an avid runner who has competed in marathons.

Inspector Peter Seel said there was no indication Ms Curry went running on Saturday night, and if she did go for a run it was more than likely on the Sunday morning.
“The dog was missing but we believe it was just roaming the street and was located near a house that the dog knew,” Inspector Seel said.

He said police had not ruled out foul play and that the chances of finding Ms Curry depended on what had happened “and whether she’s disoriented, lost or injured”.

“It’s all very much dependent on the circumstances,” Inspector Seel said.
“We are looking at either a missing person or foul play.”

He said police were also searching across the coastal area.
“We are not discounting ... that she may have gone down to the beach and something has happened down there,” he said.

BBM. I wonder how the dog appeared to be "in a distressed state"? Was the dog whining? Low tail wag like some dogs do when something is wrong? Or was it the dog's appearance that was distressed? Were there any burrs in the fur? Small scratches or torn up paws from rough terrain? Dog could be a big clue.

Also very troubling that the police can not rule out foul play. :scared:

Yikes, this thread suddenly exploded!
So much to catch up on! :scared:

The chopper has taken off and landed 3 times in last hour or so. Heard sirens along Great Ocean Road too. There feels like something happening....

AFL tickets for the gf were really hard to get.

What kind of work does Elisa do?

I have not seen her work mentioned yet. She wrote some "Letters to the Editor" of The Age over the last couple years. Here is one from July 8, 2015:
[h=3]Such dedicated care[/h] Thank you, Neil Orford, for raising awareness of the complexity of palliative care. My mother recently passed away at the age of 65 from pancreatic cancer. The palliative care provided to her during the past three months was the most compassionate and inspiring medical care I have ever seen. The doctors and nurses never rushed, the cooks prepared delicious meals, and the team supported us 24/7 when we brought mum home for her final weeks. Their dedication and commitment are truly inspiring.

Some of Elisa Curry's "Letters to the Editor":
Thank you, Carrie
Carrie Fisher used her genius wit and personal experience to de-stigmatise addiction. Please use the sadness and mourning of her passing to extend empathy and understanding to all those who are impacted by addiction and mental illness in our communities. Carrie would have wanted that. Thank you, Carrie, for your honesty and self-deprecating humour which helped so many people.

Acceptance is the key

Dr Rowe's experience with heroin use while maintaining a successful academic career helpfully counters the "junkie" stereotype. His family's ultimate acceptance of his drug use was no doubt an important part of enabling his recovery.

I think it is equally important to stop using such terminology as "beating" or "winning the battle" against drugs. Such vocabulary carries with it great stigma, making addicts feel like they are failures, and creating the perception among families and friends that their loved one is simply not trying hard enough. This creates further mental trauma for users. What we need is more understanding and acceptance of drug users: for a father to hug his son, tell him he is 100 per cent worthy and that he will support him whether or not he continues to use drugs.

Drug prices vary wildly

I had a prescription filled at a pharmacy at a local shopping strip yesterday for some medication I take regularly. The price was almost three times that of a major pharmacy chain in an adjacent suburb – almost $20 extra per month for the same medicine. I have found prices can vary by 50-300 per cent. For many people, particularly the elderly, pharmacy medicines comprise a considerable portion of their monthly budget. We are conditioned to trust the advice of a pharmacist, and this "trust" naturally extends to pricing. When I queried the price discrepancy, the pharmacist explained the larger chains are able to source product more cheaply by buying in bulk. So why aren't large retailers like supermarkets allowed to dispense medicines under the supervision of qualified pharmacists?

Bragging rights

As a mother of three children at private primary schools, I take offence to your article questioning whether such schools are a waste of money (The Age, 14/7). Among the many benefits I have experienced are my daughters looking simply elegant in their wool blazers, being able to proudly display the private school sticker on the back of my European luxury car, and of course telling everyone who asks (and even those who do not) where my children go to school.

What an overreaction

The word ''poofter'' is Aussie slang that has evolved and is more broadly used to describe a man who is acting in a very effeminate way, more like a woman than a man. It is not used exclusively as a gay slur. The free speech police should stop construing things so literally and negatively. The real wrong here is the level of persecution and hysteria that follows such comments. First they crucified Eddie McGuire for racial vilification, now Brian Taylor for homophobia. Hang on … am I allowed to use the term ''crucified''? Anyone offended?

Focus on talent, ideas

It just goes to show how obsessed companies are with what other companies think of a potential job candidate (''Red faces as Myer fires 'star' hire after rival Zara disowns him'', 25/6). Of course, if fraud is involved an employee should be dismissed. However, Andrew Flanagan obviously had enough good ideas and strategy to impress during the interview process, but it's not enough. Another company before that must have thought he had good ideas and strategy. It's time companies rid themselves of CV-bias and focused on individual talent and ideas, whatever the age or experience.

She has written 'letters to the editor' to quite a few different papers.

I'm fascinated by how many times she has written in her opinion. I didn't know that "letters to the editor" sections in papers still existed. With the internet, social media and comment sections on online articles, anyone can give their opinion freely (and often brashly) without depending on the editors to choose to publish it. She seems very dedicated to formally writing her views on almost every topic.

Today was the first time, ( for me, about 20 mins ago ) that I saw a picture of the grieving , baffled husband..

Peoples.. I don't think so. He looks as dodgy as all get out, and it's London to a brick he has murdered her, following the usual pattern..

'"Elisa, if you're out there, can you please contact us. If anyone has seen anything, just please contact us."

If you are out there !!.. dead giveaway.. Obviously, he knows she isn't 'out there'... where else would she be, if not 'out there'? .. Freudian slip time, again..

Yeah, I sat and watched it about five times in a row...
I was going to ask what others felt, as sometimes I begin to question my own jaded opinion.
But I can't decide if that's a supressed grin/smirk, or if that's just natural from his overbite...(or a combination?)
And yes, it could be from nerves.
(but which nerves... just from the cameras, or from guilt?)

Sorry, I'm nothing but questions!

I wish I could join in the search for her.

More of Elisa Curry's Letters to the Editor:

[h=3]What are the Bombers afraid of?[/h] Paul Little says ''we will not be bullied''. How does ASADA performing its regulatory responsibilities constitute bullying? Little looks desperate in clinging to technical procedural elements to avoid facing up to the substance of what are very serious allegations. The only way the suffering will end is if he allows the ASADA process to run its full course.

[h=3]Cut out the glitz[/h] I send my three children to a private school and would much prefer to see more funds directed to human rather than physical capital. If you want the glitz of a five-star hotel, book one for the holidays. You still get a decent night's sleep at a 3½-star hotel, as long as the service is good.

[h=3]Masters strokes[/h] Thank you, Foxtel, for successfully hosting the 2014 Masters golf. It was great to get the ''red button'' option to watch different groups and holes on-demand, even ad-free! Congratulations, Brett Ogle and co-host, on a memorable Masters.

[h=3]Taking a swing at Ten[/h] I am furious at the poor coverage of the US Masters by Channel Ten. The grand final of golf was skilfully sabotaged by cutting from Jason Day's final hole when leading in round one to BBC children's drama Paradise Cafe, endless advertisements and lame local commentary. Put it back on Foxtel, ad-free, and take advantage of the best commentary from ABC Sports in the US.

[h=1]Government's hand no substitute for market ingenuity[/h]WAS it just good timing, Martin Feil (BusinessDay, 4/11), in your push for export industry assistance? Picking winners is something you do on Melbourne Cup day, it should not

be the task of the Productivity Commission. By all means tackle market failure with appropriate regulation but do not try to substitute government for the market mechanism.
We are building successful export industries within Australian shores, in areas such as financial services and other "human capital" businesses.

Thanks. What does Mrs. Curry do?

my first instinct is to respond with a hearty claim that what Mrs Curry does is annoy and irritate, an opinion on anything laid down with unwavering dogmatism , ( the school badge thing was a classic howler ) but even so, she should not be missing.. no doubt she has a PR firm that books her in to letters to the editor, good stuff for a slow day, but... she should not be missing..... suspiciously missing, with a suspicious looking husband .....

the chopper seems to have gone. Has not landed again after the last take off....may have gone back to Melbourne

It must be almost time to wind up the searches for the day?

Elisa’s dog is missing too. Hopefully he or she is with Elisa and will alert searchers to their whereabouts.

I wonder which end of Airey’s Street Elisa and her family had their holiday house — north or south of the Great Ocean Road? It’s a busy road at the best of times and cars travel at speed. I’m not sure I’d cross it on foot especially at night.

Google map of Aireys Street (pin south of Great Ocean Road):

https://goo.gl/maps/aFNbYokpLm92
Used to go to Airey's as a kid. We were there several months ago. It would be so dark at that time of night to go walking there are also very few roads/streets to turn off to (most being uphill).....seems very odd.

And she clearly reads articles better than me 🙄

Yes, she does have some rather strong views. From her letters to the editor, she seems to come from money (or the pretense of it at least). Her husband's career sounds impressive and he most likely makes a great income that could support them both. They have a holiday home and nice cars. Her career (or lack of it) is only interesting if it relates to possible reasons for her going missing. Quite right, that she should not be missing. :(
