Mr Ristevski’s lawyer Sam Norton, from the firm Stary Norton Halphen, said he wanted to ask questions about ‘‘what potential findings could be made for a body decomposed for that time’’.
He said there was also an ‘‘odd’’ issue with the hyoid, a bone in the neck that sits between the chin and thyroid cartilage...........

Magistrate Cameron also flagged both Sarah Ristevski and Mr Rickard would need advice about self-incrimination before they were cross-examined. Mr Rickard, she said, would need advice in respect of drug use.

I wonder what the 'odd issue' is?

TWENTY-NINE witnesses will be cross-examined by lawyers for accused killer Borce Ristevski during a two-week hearing in July.

The witnesses include family members, a “large number of police”, an engineer, a pathologist, a telephone technician and staff who work at a store Mr Ristevski is believed to have visited in the early days of his wife Karen’s disappearance.

Dental expert Dr Richard Bassed is also among the 29 witnesses and Mr Norton flagged what he called inconsistencies in the ‘‘way in which this matter was dealt with overseas’’.

Dr Richard Bassed is the senior Forensic Odontologist and Consultant in Charge of Identification Services at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.......

I think that I read somewhere once, that there may be evidence of bleeding into the teeth of strangulation victims. Not sure if it is true, though.

Yes that’s true. It’s called “pink teeth phenomenon” very common in people who have died from strangulation or asphyxiation.

BBM: I wonder what Norton means by that? Something about this ............ ?

POLICE are reportedly sending a piece of evidence to the United States they hope will help unlock the Karen Ristevski mystery.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman today refused to confirm to news.com.au what the evidence was its significance to the investigation.

“We will not be providing a running commentary on the case.”

And really, what does it matter what the cause of death was? Are we expected to think that she walked miles from her home, killed herself between two fallen branches and then covered herself up with leaves and bush debris?

In this clip they mention that SR & AR have the " right to object to giving evidence against their father & can also refuse to reveal conversation they have had with their father"....................

And they can do that, but if it is a jury trial . the jury can make up their own minds about their refusing to reveal.

4:03 - A person who was clearing tree limbs in the weeks before Karen was found. Up in the Mt Macedon area will also be cross examined by Norton.

I noticed that in this Age article ... 'someone' pushing tree limbs off a firebreak. I wonder if someone fitting the description of Borce was seen pushing and arranging the huge tree limbs that Karen was found between.

...... along with someone who will talk to tree limbs being pushed off a firebreak in the Macedon Ranges, near where the body was located.

I think that Ant is being called by the prosecution to testify about overhearing Karen saying that she planned to leave Borce when Sarah was 21. Likely, the police have also located who Karen was telling that to, and will put that person on the stand as well.

I don't think we are far off the mark in thinking that Karen planned to leave Borce, sick and tired of the financial schemes and messes, planned to start her life again without him. At least, that is the impression I am forming from these little tidbits we are hearing.
