He also said there would certainly be an appeal.
He is entitled to appeal. Everyone is. But it is very very rare that a judge only verdict is ever overturned. It requires 3 brother judges to agree that their colleague has erred with malice and with ignorance of the law. Be a rare moment this happens .. .

Well Yay! I've been reading all day at work, whenever I could. So pleased that, after all this time, there was a guilty verdict. (Almost have to pinch myself)

An appeal was/is virtually inevitable. Hope Ian Harrison has bomb proofed his findings. I suspect he has.

Really, Joanne and Wife #3 are victims, led along all these years, as much as his three girls are. I hope , fervently hope all those girls have separate legal advice, and that Joanne and #3 do, hoping they have not been relying on Uncle Peter's 'help'.... that would be a very dangerous place to be in.

Apologies if this has already been discussed - but do both Chris and Lynn’s daughters have a relationship with Chris, or has only Shanelle spoken about this? Did Kristen have a relationship/contact with Chris post divorce from JC?

I have no fingernails left :). I wasn't completely confident he'd be found guilty. What a wonderful result today!
Now to read back on the thread....work got in my way!
Sweet justice for Lynn , her family and her friends. My heart goes out to them xx

Here's the verdict for those who missed it ( it's very brief )

Justice Harrison looks exhausted, and sad. It must be very emotionally draining for these judges who have to know all the sordidness and unhappiness of the cases they hear. And then make a life changing decision that affects so many people.

OMFG I am crying tears of joy and sadness for Lyn, her daughters, family and friends. Guilty - f you Chris Dawson may you rot in jail!
The saddest thing of all though, imo, is that there will still be no real closure for Lyn's family unless CD fesses up to where Lyn's remains are.

So happy he's been found guilty. I became interested in this case in the mid 1990's. At the time I was reading a magazine article about Lynette missing. Lynette came through strongly while I was reading it (I pick up on many things). She was yelling that she was buried under cement and that he did it. I got the impression that it was a cement slab in their garage at the time. I'm not sure whether that has ever been checked out. At the time I didn't know what to do - but I hope that her remains are found.

Lynette Dawson’s brother, Greg Simms and Chris Dawson's lawyer Greg Walsh speak outside court

I know the verdict reading was very long but I found it riveting . It was so good to hear all the reasoning behind the guilty verdict. It really did make things very clear to me. Not that I ever doubted his guilt but I wasn't really sure until the end which way it would go. I am glad his lies /omissions were a part of sealing the deal. Other family members of his should be feeling pretty ashamed of themselves .

Greg was a new young copper when this all happened.. there was a real aura of him being fobbed off by the NSW police, pulling rank, Chris being a rugby celebrity at least in his own mind, but in others as well.

So good on Greg, this whole thing must have been hell for him, keeping the family focused and functioning.

I wonder if CD's three daughters will refuse to believe in his guilt, and instead support him, like so many other daughters of murderers do. I am thinking of the Borce Ristevski, Jason Rohde, and Rob Packham cases, and no doubt many more.

His daughters are mentioned in the video I posted above by Greg Walsh ( watch from 17 mins & 30 secs ) says they were in court supporting him & are upset etc

He also mentions his wife Sue , that CD has been diagnosed with Dementia as well as comparing evidence in the Chamberlain case

Please please don't let CD out on bail while he is appealing!

Sadly yes, it was pulled as soon as it finished
Awww bummer, I'm not long home and was hoping to watch what I'd missed.
I especially wanted to see the GUILTY bit.
