How much do you think RB would have known about what was happening before today? It's definitely focusing on him so I wonder if he's trying something on.

He is legally required to be presented with a brief of evidence from the coroner. This forms the basis of the questioning by Adam Casseldon. This is the same for all involved who will question or potentially question, ie, all legal representation. You can’t surprise counsel or those being questioned with new evidence without their prior knowledge.

The defence has to know everything that will be brought up.

This is a coronial inquiry so it is quite different from a criminal investigation and court. It’s not about prosecuting Blum but finding information which helps to determine whether Marion is dead. The coroner can’t make findings on who is responsible but she can refer the case to be investigated as a criminal case. It is not mandatory for the case to be prosecuted in criminal court but if the coroner is suggesting it should be then the chances are that it will.

So, this answers the questions about whether Blum would be appearing as a witness.

He’s being represented by a senior counsel. How can such an impoverished disability pensioner pay for his services? That will no doubt be asked if it is allowed under law.

That is what I was wondering about. Also he is a Barrister - not just a Solicitor and he studied at Oxford,

However, I cannot see any of his expertise as being relevant to this case. He does not specialise in criminal law or fraud.

Not that it’s that important in the scheme of things, but to correct the record in case anyone is taking notes: GDD said the amount was €70,000 in the original French. I think AC misheard the translator and then said €72,000 and it wasn’t corrected.

Check out his CV, he seems to have minimal criminal in his background… But lists “defamation” as one of his areas of expertise. Weird choice or am I wrong?
