No I'm sorry..

Michael McInally.

"Mick might know dodgy people, that's all," Mr Palmer said.
"Mick physically said to me it wasn't Spedding but the whole idea that Mick was saying to me ... it was someone trying to set up Spedding. Maybe Spedding's son or stepson, trying to set Spedding up. That was the thing Mick was getting across to me," Mr Palmer said.

Thank you. I take it that you're suggesting MM may have known Nocturnal Man. Are you also speculating that maybe they combined to abduct William? Why do you think MM mentioned the car he said he noticed because he'd never seen it before? As a diversion from themselves?

Sorry being clear is not a trait of mine! No just wondering if this could be a reason for:
- mick knowing bad people (drugs)
- mick not wanting to get involved (fear)
- mick thinking it was a strategy due to this person knowing PS or son and potential beef?
- mick knowing of the person driving (per palmers statement not micks)
- white car seen in the street and the car being white as per both Palmer and mick

Edit 2.

Also after the fact mick realising why the white car was at nocturnal guys house - having a similar shopping habit to person driving wh i te car.

Where true, from Palmer- I don't get why MM would think this was a setup for spedding unless something else is missing. Maybe MM placed spedding car in the area.

Thanks Karrina. For some reason most articles that suggest this do not follow through with the revelation! Edit.. media brought up again post receipt of court document, in may 2019.

My interest, probably is more so the interest of the ute driver watching regardless as they would not have known what had been found.
BBM Maybe he owned the dope plants in the bush?

"A small strawberry blonde/reddish hair" was photographed and taken into evidence.

The dense bush offered up more items of interest, including marijuana plants, men's underwear, red fluff and a child's toy.

Just to add to this post ... I never have felt comfortable about nocturnal man, though. The police searched his home 3 times in the first 24 hours. I believe that FGM proclaimed her thought that it could be him after that, because she was assured that he had been checked out thoroughly.

Also, in an article linked recently it says that they were 'unable' to name him. And I wondered why they were unable to do so. Because he was a sex offender? Or other reasons?
If he was a protected (grrr ...) sex offender, it could be why police searched his home 3 times in the first 24 hours.

Also, when we saw pics of the inside of his home, when it went up for 'urgent sale by owner', there was a stuffed teddy bear sitting on the back of the couch. That raised my eyebrow.
Need to do a look back on this one. Thanks SA amazing he has escaped media and having his name on the inquest list.

  • Jones was jailed in September for the aggravated indecent assault of a young girl. Bickford is serving a suspended sentence for indecently assaulting a girl suffering Asperger’s syndrome.
  • The Daily Telegraph understands Bickford was driving a grey sedan at the time of William’s disappearance, and Jones was driving a white station wagon.
Justt rehashing some old news for thoughts sorry! We are yet to hear from these guys at the inquest.

I don't think we will be hearing from Bickford. He doesn't seem to be on the witness list.
And Jones seems to have been shelved for the moment.

Also to add further to my above post .... :D

Didn't someone here link a statement that 'unnamed convicted sex offenders' would be appearing at the inquest?

If so, does that include nocturnal man? Maybe. imo
Also on this there was a perception we would be hearing from more than one person currently incarcerated - only one verified so far....

"Bickford said he was expecting police to seek him out as one of about 80 paedophiles in the area."

"Bickford said at the time he owned a white Holden Commodore and his son had a grey Holden Astra sedan but he said his son was in Brisbane with the car. The Astra has since been scrapped, he said."

"The former taxi driver said he knew Kendall but rarely took passengers there and had never been to Benaroon Dr. "

There is an awful lot of car scrapping going on in this area....

That ^^^^^ men's underwear, has always worried me. perhaps (and hopefully not in relation to William), but in relations to some of the strange people who have come to light at the inquest. IMO.

He could have been one of the ones who requested anonymity.

Nocturnal man was a taxi driver. Bickford was a taxi driver. Interesting possibility?

I should also state to be transparent his commrnt in full from the articles:

The officer noticed a ladder leading up to a manhole in the laundry ceiling. “I looked inside the roof cavity but did not climb in,” he said in his statement, noting it appeared the hatch had not been opened recently. “The only thing I could see in the roof cavity was a plastic owl often used to scare birds and vermin.”

I wouldn't have thought that "not appearing to have been opened recently " is good enough reason to not check?

agree..and i think its shocking they didnt..also later on in the pictures that owl was on the coffee table ?? who got it out of the roof

Around the corner from Benaroon Drive, a young mum hovers over her daughter, almost three. She never leaves her side. The mother works in Port Macquarie, but she and her partner moved here to be closer to her partner’s son, who was living with his mother across the street from William’s grandmother’s house when the boy vanished. She had heard all the pedophile rumours before moving in.

So does she mean before moving in before William went missing or is it commonly known that this area is an area for paedophiles.
And......her partners son who lived across the road? So.....where?

It was sort of driving crazily and that ... it wasn't Bill Spedding but it was like he was saying someone that might have been around that circle ?? what is this meant to mean

Mm exactly, given he stated this a few months after, with the benefit of hindsight?

Still doesn't make sense but something brought those comments out (If true)

Hair, like the thick necked man in the car had, who had a glance at FFC? :p

I’ve never taken it too seriously, the two cars FFC claimed to have seen, always thought it might have been a police tactic, but if they were actually there, I’d suspect it was someone visiting nocturnal man.
Maybe he was local drug dealer, he must have had something inhis ceiling if ladder underneath.
Can anyone come up with a logical reason for the box thing over window.
BBM, I doubt very much it was a Police tactic per statements at the Coronial Inquest.
(quote)

Under cross-examination by Ms Swift, Detective Beacroft agreed that the foster mother had not at first told police about seeing cars in the street on the morning William disappeared.

She also agreed that no evidence had been found supporting the foster mother’s car sightings and at least one neighbour was adamant there were “no cars”.

The detective had said in an investigators’ note that police were “unable to identify any vehicle … unable to corroborate evidence to support the female foster carers’ [statement regarding the car sightings]”.

The female foster carer gave a statement to police on September 14, 2014 that “does not make any reference to sighting vehicles”, the inquest heard.
