Found Deceased Bermuda - Marc Dombroski, 19, from PA, there for rugby tournament, 18 Mar 2018

Oh no... What terrible news! My heart goes out to the family.

His shoulder was injured? Could he have had a concussion? I wonder if he suffered a medical event, like a blood clot. How sad, however it happened!

I've never been to Bermuda but a guy I used to work with had been there several times a long time ago. He said that Bermuda had gotten to be kind of a rough place and there were lots of places you didn't go after dark.

I've not heard that, but a lot of places seem to be becoming "rough" these days.

Bermuda is a major off-short centre for financial services, especially re-insurance in the marine sector. I did look into taking a job in Bermuda a couple of years ago but it's ridiculously expensive to live there even with a tax-free or low-tax salary.

Bermuda is where my ashes are to be dispersed when I meet my fate.
It’s gorgeous and loaded with sea glass and pottery shards.....and me someday.

Sad news about Mark. I read a guestion in a comment section today...it was..”..Don’t they teach the buddy system anymore ? “. Well ? Do they ?

The news said he was found quite ways from the Pub.....near a police station.

“HAMILTON, Bermuda — The Latest on the American student reported missing in Bermuda (all times local):

6:20 p.m.

Police officials in Bermuda say the body of U.S. student Mark Dombroski was found at the base of a colonial era fort in the British Island territory.

Acting Assistant Commissioner James Howard says authorities have not determined a cause of death of the 19-year-old student from Media, Pennsylvania, and that forensic experts are still at the scene.

Howard says they have not ruled out foul play in the death.

He expressed his ‘heartfelt condolences to his family and friends’ after an intensive search for local authorities, volunteers, and relatives of the student.” (BBM)

Bermuda is in the ADT (Atlantic Daylight Time) Zone (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bermuda)

Base of a fort ....hope it’s not the Alexandria Battery , that’s my spot.

They haven’t ruled out foul play.......

Police have not released how the student died after he went missing from a bar on Sunday morning, but officials said they have not ruled out foul play.
The body was found at Fort Prospect, near the Arboretum in Devonshire, which is a national park in Bermuda.
During a press conference with the Bermuda Police on Monday, officials said there is no indication at this time that Dombroski was intoxicated when he went missing.
Surveillance footage last spotted the rugby player alive at 1.15am.

Dombroski's mother, Lisa, said during the press conference: 'We love him dearly. We want him back'.
This was hours before a search party found his body.
She also said her son did not appear to be enjoying the 'party atmosphere' with his teammates, based on the footage she watched.
He reportedly injured his shoulder during his game earlier that day, and the footage allegedly showed him favoring that injury.

I wonder how badly his shoulder was injured? bad enough that he could not swim? A little alcohol, deep water, shoulder injury... idk... so very very sad.

I know they said no alcohol, but they do not know yet. Reason I say this, there have been a number of deaths of college kids who drink and head for water. Also a guy in New Orleans did this. They have it on camera. It was the first thing I thought of when I heard he was found in a moat. My condolences to his family so sad.

Do we know if he was seen with girls when he was walking in the opposite direction of his camp?

Yes, and that’s the exact word Acting Assistant Commissioner Howard uses during the press conference also:

The bar Marc was at is close to Hamilton Docks. Is that the same area that should be avoided at night?

The area of Hamilton north of Dundonald Street -- which is only four blocks north of the main drag, Front Street -- should be avoided by travelers, especially at night.

This map from the Heavy article shows the locations of:

1. The bar Mark was at, The Dog House, which is on Front Street,

2. Fort Prospect, where his body was found,

and

3. Dundonald Street, which I’ve underlined in red.

The route from The Dog House to Fort Prospect that’s shown in the map is the quickest one, and if that’s the way Mark went, he likely did not venture into the “area of Hamilton north of Dundonald Street,” but that will still have to be confirmed by LE based on CCTV footage, etc., IMO.

“Police were notified of Dombroski's disappearance at 9:39 a.m. Sunday and Howard said police ‘within an hour mobilized officers to commence looking through CCTV and checking for the young man.’

Police confirmed that ‘CCTV footage indicates that Mark was seen alone at 1:09 a.m. Sunday, March 18, walking east along Front Street just past the junction with King Street. He was wearing a green T-shirt, khaki pants and black shoes. He appeared to be using a cellphone device.’”

I’ve circled King Street in red in the map above.
