The 39-year-old pop star has been legally stripped of her ability to make her own financial and personal decisions for the past 13 years

Britney Spears is free from her conservatorship after a judge ruled in favor of termination Friday, ending the 13-year arrangement that has legally stripped the pop star from making her own personal and financial decisions.

"The court finds the conservatorship of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required," Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ruled. Effective today, the conservatorship for Britney Spears' person and estate are terminated.

The entire hearing took just 31 minutes. Britney Spears herself did not make a phone or video appearance. Her attorney Mathew Rosengart cited her statements from her previous June hearing, in which she requested to terminate the conservatorship without a mental health evaluation...

Britney Spears cited after driving at an ‘unsafe speed,' court records show (nbcnews.com)

The pop star was ticketed nearly four months after being released from a controversial conservatorship that she said prevented her from driving alone.

The California Highway Patrol recently cited Britney Spears after authorities said they saw her driving at an “unsafe speed for prevailing conditions,” according to court records obtained by NBC News.

The pop star was pulled over on March 10. The records do not detail where she was driving, the conditions or at what speed.

The citation comes on the heels of Spears celebrating being able to drive on her own once again...

Tiger Woods didn't get a ticket:

  • Tiger Woods was speeding as fast as 87 mph, or more than 45 mph faster than the legal speed limit, before his SUV crashed in late February in Southern California, badly injuring the golf legend, the LA County sheriff said
  • Investigators said the accident was the result of Woods driving in an unsafe manner for road conditions.
  • They said they will not issue a citation for Woods, who is recovering at his home in Florida.

Britney Spears announced that she has lost her baby, posting the news in a statement on her Instagram account Saturday.

Spears, 40, said last month that she was expecting a child with fiancé Sam Asghari after deciding to take a pregnancy test after she found herself gaining weight. But in a statement Saturday, she said the couple has lost their "miracle baby."

"This is a devastating time for any parent," her statement said. "Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however we were overly excited to share our good news."

Her statement went on to say that she and Asghari will continue to try to "expand our beautiful family," but asked for privacy as they grieve the loss...

LOS ANGELES — Longtime partners Britney Spears and Sam Asghari married Thursday in a ceremony in Southern California.

"I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way,” Asghari’s manager, Brandon Cohen, told NBC News in a statement.

However, the wedding day wasn’t without drama due to an unexpected appearance from the singer’s first husband.

Jason Alexander, who was married to Spears for 55 hours after a 2004 Las Vegas wedding before the marriage was annulled, was chased and detained by security after he showed up at Spears' residence, a Ventura County sheriff's spokesman said...

LOS ANGELES — The former husband of Britney Spears was convicted of trespassing and battery Thursday after showing up to the singer’s California home on the day she was getting married to someone else, officials said.

Jason Alexander, 40, pleaded no contest to the two misdemeanor counts stemming from the June 9 incident in Ventura County, the district attorney’s office said.

He was sentenced to time served; he spent 64 days in jail, according to court records.

Alexander, who was married to Spears for less than three days in 2004, showed up at the singer’s home on the day she was to be married to Sam Asghari in June.

Prosecutors said he damaged a door and battered a security guard in the intrusion in Thousand Oaks. He was arrested by Ventura County sheriff's deputies.

Video broadcast live by Alexander on Instagram showed someone, allegedly Alexander, saying he was there to "crash" the wedding. Alexander is not seen on the video because it is shot from the recorder's perspective.

From the article:

“Spears has not publicly acknowledged the split. However, she took to Instagram Wednesday to reveal that she was going to buy a horse soon.”

The abuse allegations are serious and I hope the both find peace….but I have to admit this line made me snort laugh!
