Thanks @Seattle1 - Wondering "what" they can't "settle"....
Bringing forward my post from last October. We should hear about the 1800 pages of evidence and 12 cd's of photos today. It looks like the hearings for both brothers are scheduled together.
^^sbmRelative to another FSC hearing in August, it doesn't follow that we're back to what happens following an arraignment. Do they want to attempt to settle or talk plea deals again? They already had 18 months of FSC's without making an ounce of progress towards a guilty plea -- or handing over Aranda's remains.
To be clear, a Felony Settlement Conference, scheduled again for August 7, is similar to a Trial Readiness Conference (TRC) and consists of exchanging discovery (info about the case) and attempting to negotiate a final determination of the case. If the attorneys are unable to resolve the case then a Preliminary Hearing is set (which was scheduled for July 8).
Yup, today - Friday ...Tomorrow? It's Friday here now!
That's cause I'm 10 hours ahead of California time.

So much for the jokes about "California time."I've seen it that early before.... even at 7am!
Feeling heartsick for Aranda’s family. Hoping that justice can inch along a little more quickly for their sake.
Yes, the description is what appeared on the Superior Court calendar for today, Nov 18. Unless I view the calendar on the actual hearing date, the information is not available to me.Sounds like @Seattle1 - preliminary hearing for both. The jail site never gives "what" the hearing is about just the date & time. Hopefully it's FINALLY the preliminary hearing.
So this filing by Owen - it hasn't been "granted" yet - correct? Just filed.
TIA!
