I would like to know how police and the husband know she was last wearing torn jeans and a white t-shirt. Did he FaceTime her while she was driving to the airport? Does LE have her on CCTV?

Seems as if LE have her listed as voluntarily missing due to no evidence of foul play.

"Valenti’s husband said nothing like this has ever happened before, and it’s very unlike her to go days without contact. Police are treating her case as a "voluntary missing persons case," and there isn't an active search by law enforcement, according to San Jose Police Sgt. Enrique Garcia.

According to preliminary investigations, there does not seem to be any evidence of foul play, but police are not releasing any more information at this time, Garcia said."

Don't all rental cars have GPS trackers?

She certainly has a support group of friends/family on SM getting the word out and of course, worried.

Yeah, I don’t know how they decide there is no evidence of foul play. Unless they have private text messages or specific information they’ve been able to recover from others who know where she went. But in that case I’d think she wouldn’t even be classified as missing.

The whole thing about this being voluntary vs. foul play. This woman is the CEO of a business where reputation and character are pretty important. I doubt she would be so irresponsible as to turn off her phone and go dark without letting someone know. It would be embarrassing to have this kind of scenario blast all over the news and social media, IMO.

So agree with this. They walk a fine line, don't they? I wish I understood it, but I'm sure they have their reasons...if it were my loved one, I would want them to sound the alarm asap! Time is not on her side, as we all know. MOO

ITA.

And she was supposed to receive an award at a ceremony. If this were just some “domestic issue” or a case where she went off with another person, it seems very bizarre to me she would skip something important and high-profile like that.

This article says that LE is searching for her... I hope this is correct!

San Jose Police search for missing Utah CEO
San Jose Police are searching for Erin Valenti after she went missing Monday evening.

[...]

Alarms were raised when Valenti didn’t show up for the Utah Woman Tech Council awards, where she was a finalist. Valenti also never return the rental car and missed her flight back to Utah.

Anyone with information is asked to contact San Jose police at 408-277-4141 and refer to case number 192800947.

Help Find Erin Valenti
Last known location was near Almaden Expressway and Camden Avenue in San Jose.

Erin Valenti missing: How Erin Valenti went missing
Last phone ping in San Jose around Vegas Drive and Menlo Street at 1 am.

(Basically, these are the same location: Google Maps)

On another map of this area I saw there's a Bank of America right in this location. I wonder if she stopped to get money? I hope they can get camera footage from the ATM. Might be worth looking into. Unfortunately with this being "voluntary missing" in the eyes of the police, I'm not sure how much investigation is taking place.

On one side i think this could be an accident, but why would the phone go off so early?

Her IG account has a pic of her meeting with film execs in the LA area last week. So has she been in California the whole time? Met with execs in socal and then drove up to norcal? Did she fly into LAX and intended to fly out of SJC?

I have so many questions. Last spoke with hubs on way to airport, but who last saw her physically and when? Where was she staying? Seems as if he has access to her phone records right?

I've flown out of SJC, trying to remember the area. I don't think there could be an undiscovered car accident in the area surrounding the airport. So in my mind, not a very likely scenario.

Well, if they're getting surveillance footage (I sure hope they are - and, lots of it!), they're investigating. :)

I am also hoping that something has changed since they said she is considered voluntary missing since the latest article says they're searching for her. They need to be.
  • I highly doubt she stole the rental car.
  • She has not returned it.
  • She missed her flight.
  • Her phone is turned off.
  • She missed her award ceremony in which she was a finalist.
  • She is a business owner.
  • She has never disappeared like this.
  • Her husband says this is highly unusual.
If she had an accident, she could still be alive. LE needs to look for her. MOO

Pommy, slightly O/T, I am reminded of the case of Tanya Ryder. She had a car accident and searchers passed her many many times. She was just off the highway under a bridge embankment thing totally covered by leaves. On Day 8, her husband was brought into the Police Dept and in his words (paraphrasing) was being grilled and about to be charged. It was at that moment they got the call that she and her vehicle had been found and that she was alive. If they had gotten to her any later, she would have died.

So yes, if she’s had an accident she still could be alive.

I am also reminded of the case of Terrilyn Monette. She had a car accident as well, but sadly did not survive. Her car had gone off into the water.
