Because he works too??? I traveled frequently for my job all over the U.S. and didn't need to drag my husband along. Why would that be necessary? MOO

Yes, this is unfortunately the case with my husband. He works too. However, when I can take him along, he goes and scouts out places for me to visit in my mandatory breaks from work. And, well, if he had to go to New York City for work and didn't take me, I think there would be a conflagration of major portions. And vice versa.

Unfortunately, most places I have to go (or he has to go) are not places either of us wants to go.

Erin's various travels and adventures seem to have taken her all over the world, part business, part adventure.

She was in Japan recently and that is where she discovered the Matrix. I've heard of people who buy prescription drugs in Asia because they don't need a prescription. Totally wild idea, but maybe she tried something in Japan that she viewed as entering Matrix AI and she tried it again.

We don't know why she became incoherent and died, but it does seem that something was out of order with her brain. What we don't know is whether it was a natural disorder or a result of something she ingested.

Missing Utah Woman Erin Valenti Found Dead in Car, Family Says
There is a disturbing comment in here from a family member she spoke to. It's weird because she has a FB post saying something similar. I'm leaning towards a substance issue based on this, and also because the tech world is semi notorious for using certain drugs to increase the amount of time one can work, focus etc.

This is the part of the article I'm referring to: “We talked to her for hours on and off” on Monday night, a family member also told the Mercury News. “Her thoughts were disconnected. She talked a mile a minute. She’d say I’m coming home for Thanksgiving, then in the next she was saying she’s in the Matrix.”
BBM: Someone on another site said the local casino in SJ is called the Matrix!

I thought matrix referred to over the counter cough medicine.
I must live in a different world.

I thought it was adderall and ritalin.

Those are a bit more controlled and have more side effects (adderall is mixed amphetamine salts, ritalin is different.) Modafinil/armodafinil are a bit more popular due to fewer side effects, assuming you are taking them for wakefulness/better attention and not to treat ADHD like adderall/ritalin.

Yes, they are commonly used recreationally, though.
Long term use or high doses can lead to mania or psychosis.

I have never heard of people using Modafinil or armodafnil but then again I don't get out much. Is it easy to get without a prescription? Imo

Just a couple of points. I’m local and live very close to this area, and have been on Camden Ave off the 85 several times.

1. Once on the 85 freeway there are a couple more exits before the freeway 87 freeway that takes you to the airport.

2. If you head down a Camden towards where her car was found there are a couple of areas that have gas stations. Stores and a bar. I would canvas that bar to see if anyone saw or anything.

3. I highly doubt that episode of Serotonin Syndrome was a factor. I suffered from a episode due to medication I’m on last week. You can barely talk to anyone, and your mood is all over the place with feelings of depression, with anxiety mixed in, with some physical effects as well like chills and sweats. It can last 24hrs and will knock you on your butt based on my experience. If she would be suffering from it I would assume she would seek medical attention or at minimum would pull over and call someone. You would have some serious interaction with a benzo, some pain killers, diet pills, or some other interaction. Bottom line it feels like something is destroying you. This lady seemed like she was focused on her heath and would articulate if she was suffering from it.

4. The area is a mixed bag. Just one exit down there has been issues with homeless especially around Best Buy. I would
Not call it unsafe but there is a lot of foot traffic around that area closer to the freeway. There are encampments along 85 and 87 that are growing. I have met friends at a bar on Camden and did notice sketchy characters around gas stations. If she was abducted or assaulted there would be a high chance someone saw something. I’m sure LE is checking cameras, and conducting interviews in the area.

5. Lastly, the only thing that can be done is to wait for toxicology to see what was in her system. There are many overdose deaths (as in all cities) with people taking too many pills or drinking, taking something and then they are gone. It happened to my cousins daughter. I ran a parallel investigation to LE and found more eyewitnesses than LE. Yet it was the toxicology that confirmed the case. I am assuming LE will wait on those results first before they pursue a “assault” or Random encounter.

my condolences to the family, husband and Friends’s. Bottom line is to pursue toxicology. Took about 4 weeks until we got a toxicology results which confirmed overdose. If that is inconclusive I would double down on the area. Someone would have to see something if another person was involved.

Mucinex maybe?
I'm not sure. I know kids used to drink Robitussin to supposedly "trip."
I think that's why they keep it behind the counter in many places.
But Mucinex sounds like Matrix so maybe that's it. They must have a similar ingredient. (Whatever cough medicines that they take to hallucinate) Some have the particular ingredient while others don't, I guess.

Anyway the term "matrix" refers to taking large amounts to get a "high."

Imo

Regarding Matrix, there are three references:

One is a Casino M8trix that is near the airport.

The second is during her incoherent conversations with family:

"On Saturday, relatives had continued their frantic search for Valenti, who they said apparently suffered a manic episode early in the week, telling them in a string of bizarre phone calls that “it’s all a game, it’s a thought experiment, we’re in the Matrix.”

While trying to understand more about Erin, I researched her. I came across this 2015 article where we find a third reference:

"Speaking of Overstock, we want to thank one of StartSLC’s directors, Erin Valenti, for playing such a pivotal role in organizing the Overstock Lounge on Friday, and for keeping us on our toes by asking a million questions that we never would have thought needed to be answered. StartSLC was a better event because of Erin’s involvement. Thank you."

The link that is embedded in her name in the article takes you to her twitter account, which takes you to her instragram account, which takes you to a photo she posted last August where she comments that she found a way into the matrix. A friend replies "drugs kill." Maybe the reference to the matrix and "drugs kill" is a joke, maybe it is relevant to what happened prior to her death.

Mitrice Richardson in the Malibu Hills area of CA. Such a weird case.

Also manic, IMO. Very sad case.

Lifetime prevalence of bipolar is about 3-6% of the population. So if you go to church and walk into a group of 100 people, conservatively 3% are or will be bipolar. In my classrooms of 50, there's probably at least 1 bipolar person. Nurses and doctors see them more frequently than that. Police run into them more often.

I think that comment on her Instagram post was made today. How do you know it is one of her friends? Also, her FB, Twitter, and Instagram accounts are linked on page 1 of the thread, I believe. MOO

I thought I saw the comment about her finding the matrix in August as well. It has a picture of her that has a very blue background, I think. Imo

So sad to hear of this outcome. As I read through the thread, I couldn’t help but think of Bryce Laspisa’s disappearance. He was taking Vyvanse and binge drinking, which is believed to have caused a psychotic break. He was on the road back to his parents house, but after multiple checks by roadside assistance and LE, he never made it home, and drove around in the same general area for over 15 hours. Roadside Assistance found him in the same spot over and over again until they followed him until he got onto the interstate. Roommate and his girlfriend were so worried about his behavior in the days prior, they called his parents to make them aware of the situation. The circumstances are not so similar, but I am curious to see the toxicology report on this one.
MOO.

Thoughts to Erin’s family and friends.

I either didn't know that about Bryce taking Vyvanse or didn't think anything of it at the time I read it since I knew nothing of the drug. I do now, though. My teenage daughter tried to take that last year with terrible side effects :(. Side effects of the psychiatric/psychotic kind. Not at all suggesting Erin was taking this particular drug, but if she had just started anything at all it could have had terrible effects :(.

I thought the August picture was in reference to some Matrix exhibit/recreation that she saw in Tokyo, where pictures like this were being made as part of a Matrix (the film) anniversary event.

At any rate, no need to postulate drugs if one's own mind can play the same tricks. I find that to be close to victim blaming. Her husband, a mental health professional, said "textbook manic." That's enough for me.

Bipolar is always associated with one of three genes for bipolar, as far as I know. No one chooses to become manic. They may be able to avoid it if they are lucky/lead a very quiet life. But most people with the genes for bipolar are going to experience some symptoms.

Either that, or some other form of illness. Wait until the toxicology report before beginning to hint that she was on drugs. Or until a credible witness comes forward, at least.

Quite right! The comment about "drugs kill" was added today. I just assumed that as a tech expert she would have privacy and security on her social media accounts that prevent unknown people from adding anything.

How likely is it that someone who is perfectly normal with no mental health issues will spontaneously have a complete break with reality at age 33?
