Found Deceased CA - Philip Kreycik, 37, Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park, 10 Jul 2021 #2

This is truly terrible, but makes the most sense. I wish it didn't, but at least the family will know what happened and can lay him to rest properly :(

So so sad to hear, especially following this missing person since the start. My sincere condolences to all of Philip's family members and friends. This is not the outcome we all hoped for, but as you mention, at least he has been found, albeit tragically.

Pleasanton Police and Alameda County Sheriff’s Office announce that they believe they have found the body of missing runner Philip Kreycik. Positive ID pending. @abc7newsbayarea

They also said it was NORTH of the command post, so definitely not the main search area. Also, that Philip perhaps went straight when he should have taken a turn back to where he started from.
Can you map it & post a general idea of where? Not sure which command post you are referring to: before last Saturday they were at a school and then they moved. TIA!

My deepest condolences to his family. This is heartbreaking. Seeing the community spirit and strong efforts made to find him was inspiring. Great work. I wish the outcome had been different. :(

Press release from Pleasanton police department
http://admin.cityofpleasantonca.gov/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?BlobID=35543

It says the body was found 1/4 mile from the intended route.

Erik Silacci in the press conference shown on KRON4 says it was found north of Moller Ranch.

Here is the press conference posted on Youtube by KTVU
They think he did not make the turn to go back that he should (maybe the turn he is referring to is the trail through landbank area from Pleasanton Ridge to the Moller Ranch----IMO they are referring to what is called the "Lying Stump Shortcut Trail" on Strava)

From what I am interpreting them to say is that assuming he went around the loop on the ridgetop he overshot and did not make that turn or maybe perhaps my opinion only maybe he could not make the turn because he could not at that point have the energy to climb over the gate perhaps.

It sounds like he continued north instead, then went off the official trail.

Or maybe he never went around the loop, but only went a small section on it, then tried to cut through to go north off trail once he was on the Pleasanton Ridge loop trail. It is hard to say at this point. Hopefully they will figure out what happened.

Another idea I have is since they said it was north of Moller Ranch and they never saw him on ring video is that he went to the Preserve which is north of Moller Ranch and tried to access Pleasanton Ridge from the Preserve instead. The Preserve is north of Moller Ranch so maybe that is how he ended up where he was found.
