“Sheila Koester, Sherri Papini's sister, spoke to the media today at 3 p.m. about the return of her sister. She read a brief statement from the family and then answered questions.

Koester reminded the audience that she was six months pregnant and asked everyone to be mindful of her emotions.

"This has been a traumatic event for all us," Koester started.

Koester started by looking at her notes and speaking about the family's feelings. She said that Keith and Sherri have been reunited and they appreciated the "tremendous support" they have gotten over the past three weeks.”

[h=1]Missing California Mom Was Found ‘Chained to Something’ and Heavily Battered: Report[/h]
Missing California mom Sherri Papini was reportedly chained and beaten up when she was discovered on the side of a road after mysteriously vanishing while jogging three weeks ago, according to The Sacramento Bee.
Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko has previously said that Papini, 34, was bound with restraints when she was found on County Road 17 in rural Yolo, California, around 4:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. However, The Sacramento Bee reports that a radio dispatcher initially said Papini was “chained to something” when she was found.
“CHP is on scene and advised that she is chained to something,” a radio dispatcher told a responding officer Thursday in an audio clip obtained by The Sacramento Bee. “CHP is advising that she is heavily battered.”

[h=1]Missing mother Sherri Papini's family asks for privacy as she is reunited with husband[/h]
Family members of Sherri Papini, the Northern California mother missing for three weeks, said they are overjoyed at her return home as more details emerge about her abduction.

“It’s been a range of emotions: sadness, anger. Right now, it’s joy,” Papini’s sister, Sheila Koester, told the Redding Record-Searchlight. “We are overwhelmed with joy of how supportive everyone has been to help bring us together as a family again.”
Koester added in an interview with the Sacramento Bee: “What I can say is that her and [her husband] Keith have been reunited. And that they are very happy to be together and they’re very thankful for everyone for allowing them to have their privacy and allowing them to recover from their situation that all of us have been in.”

Alison Sutton, 43, said she was driving north on Interstate 5 near County Road 17 in unincorporated Yolo early Thursday when she glimpsed a clearly distressed blond woman in her headlights off to the right.

"When I saw her, it really startled me. She was really close to the road, like almost out in traffic," she told the Daily News.

"She had some piece of fabric in her hands and was waving it up and down. I'm thinking it was a shirt. She was waving it like a flag," she said.

"The woman I saw had long blonde hair and was not appropriately dressed for as cold as it was. She didn't have a jacket," she explained.

"She didn't look like she was hurt, but she did look scared. It was just the feeling that I got. It was just a really brief moment, and I was driving at freeway speed. It was dark. It was just luck that I saw her at all," she said.

"The way she was waving the fabric seemed frantic," Sutton recalled. "I realized if she was that close to getting hit — willing to be that close to freeway traffic — she must really need help."

Sutton said she couldn't tell if Papini was wearing any restraints when she saw her.

[h=1]Sheriff: ‘Sensitive information’ not disclosed related to disappearance of missing California mother[/h]
Bosenko said Papini was spotted on the road by a driver about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

“She is safe, in stable condition and receiving medical clearance at an undisclosed hospital,” he said. “She has been reunited with her husband.”
Bosenko said Papini “was released by her captor on a rural road near I-5. … She was bound with restraints but was able to summon help from a passing motorist.” He said she was treated for unspecified injuries that were not life threatening.
Sheriff: ‘Sensitive information’ not disclosed
Bosenko said there was “sensitive information” related to the disappearance that he would not disclose.
Authorities are looking for two women in a dark SUV in connection with the case, the sheriff added. They reportedly are armed

Neighbors where Sherri Papini was found early Thursday in northern Yolo County about 7 miles north of Woodland rejoiced Friday that the mother of two was alive and safe.

But none saw — or heard — anything unusual until they heard about her being found from news media accounts or by relatives.

"That (her release) was a blessing," said Marlene Stevens, who lives less than a mile from where the 34-year-old Papini was found around 4:30 a.m. Thursday on County Road 17 off Interstate 5. "It couldn't have been a better Thanksgiving."

[h=1]Redding mayor gets a phone call from Sherri and Keith Papini[/h]
"Sherri and Keith called me to say, 'Thanks for the community's help'," McArthur noted. "I feel blessed they accept the community was there for them."

McArthur noted the only other time she had spoken with Keith was before the City Council meeting - where he talked about the continuing search efforts for Sherri - and to help coordinate the balloon release.

McArthur said she was so excited to hear Sherri's voice.
“Overjoyed, overjoyed that she was able to talk and give thanks," she explained.
However, it was a very emotional phone call.

Match any of the data from the 20 warrants to the cell tower dumps and maybe they can find the perps. Isn't modern technology wonderful!!

Husband's statement on GMA:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/gma-exclusive-husband-sherri-papini-speaks-familys-ordeal/story?id=43840659

The first thing I would like to address is the overwhelming amount of gratitude our entire family has for the thousands of people that have been on this torturous journey with us. I cannot possibly name each and every person, although their names are eternally etched in our hearts. Thank you to our strong family, devoted friends, the entire Redding community, and countless communities around the world. Specific thanks to the Shasta County Sheriff”s department, FBI, NorCal Alliance for the Missing, The Lost Coast Trackers, Shasta Support Services, The Guardian Angels, my own personal A-Team, Cameron Gamble, Cody Salfen, Jim Linnan, Sean Ditty, Don Armstrong, Yolo County Sheriff's department and hospital, the medical personnel that helped our dear Sherri, social media, and many news outlets. Thank you to LRT Graphics and Signarama. Thank you to the extremely generous, anonymous as well as named donors all over the world whom selflessly gave to our family. Thank you to the many incredible humans that have never known Sherri that facilitated in sharing our heart break across the globe. Sherri has always captured my heart and it is no surprise that she has captured the hearts not only through the country, but throughout the world. Thank you, truly, immensely, sincerely, and with my entire heart.

Secondly, we live in a nation of free speech, accompanied with an era of technology that provides immediate gratification. This is a double edged sword. I am grateful for this system as it is what spread my wife's face quickly throughout the world, gaining the attention of thousands. The unfortunate side is that some people have been sitting in angering, expectant, positions waiting for the gory details.

Rumors, assumptions, lies, and hate have been both exhausting and disgusting. Those people should be ashamed of their malicious, sub human behavior. We are not going to allow those people to take away our spirit, love, or rejoice in our girl found alive and home where she belongs. I understand people want the story, pictures, proof that this was not some sort of hoax, plan to gain money, or some fabricated race war. I do not see a purpose in addressing each preposterous lie. Instead, may I give you a glimpse of the mixture of horror and elation that was my experience of reuniting with the love of my life and mother of our children.

Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see upon my arrival at the hospital, nor the details of the true hell I was about to hear. The mental prison I was in over the past three weeks was shattered when my questions of my wife's reality became known.

The officers warned me to brace myself. My first sight was my wife in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises ranging from yellow to black because of repeated beatings, the bridge of her nose broken.

Her now emaciated body of 87 pounds was covered in multi colored bruises, severe burns, red rashes, and chain markings. Her signature long, blonde hair had been chopped off. She has been branded and I could feel the rise of her scabs under my fingers. She was thrown from a vehicle with a chain around her waist, attached to her wrists and a bag over her head. The same bag she used to flag someone down once she was able to free one of her hands. Sherri was taken from us for 22 days, and suffered incredibly through both intense physical agony and severe mental torture. My reaction was one of extreme happiness and overwhelming nausea as my eyes and hands scanned her body. I was filled with so much relief and revulsion at once. My Sherri suffered tremendously and all the visions swirling in your heads of her appearance, I assure you, are not as graphic and gruesome as the reality.

We are a very private family whom do not use social media outlets prior to this grotesque tragedy. My love for my wife took precedents and it was clear we had to be exposed in ways we never would have been comfortable with. So please have a heart and understand why we have asked for our privacy. This will be along road of healing for everyone. Ultimately, it was Sherri's will to survive that brought her home. Thank you.
