Toronto Police Service :: News Release #42675
Case #: 2000-213443
The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance identifying a deceased man.

On Tuesday, December 12, 2000, the remains of an unidentified man were found at the Dundas Subway station.

He is described as 30 to 50 years old, 5'6", 152 lbs., with grey eyes, brown hair (balding) and a short reddish moustache. He had a collection of tattoos including a heart (right upper lateral arm), a heart with 2 arrows (right forearm), a cross (left shoulder and on his left forearm), a cross with dots (right lower forearm and on his left upper arm) and a square (lower left forearm).

He was wearing a sports jacket with the name "Tony Pass Oct 4/88" on the collar and "Habberlins" on the tag, a red long-sleeve shirt, a white golf shirt with the logo "Owen Sound Golf Classic 99" on the front, brown/tan-coloured pants, white sweat socks, blue boxers, and black dress shoes. His personal effects included a Playdium card.

Recently the Ontario Pathologist’s office, with the assistance of the O.P.P., undertook to have another artist’s rendition done of this man, in the hopes that it will help someone recognize this individual and bring some resolution to both his family and the investigation.

Playdium is a family entertainment centre chain owned by Cineplex Entertainment through its subsidiary Player One Amusement Group. The flagship location in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada launched as Sega City @ Playdium near Square One Shopping Centre on September 7, 1996. The 11 acres (480,000 sq ft) centre cost CA$17 million to build and included a arcade, batting cages, go-karts and mini-golf. A partnership with Sega GameWorks, it featured many arcade games from that company such as Daytona USA, and eight-player racing setups for Indy 500 (as Virtua Indy) and Manx TT Super Bike.[2][3] Indy 500 remains available today.[4] In 1999, the centre was renamed to Playdium.

18-YEAR-OLD MYSTERY: Man found dead at TTC station still unidentified
"For nearly two decades the identity of a man who was found dead at a downtown TTC station has remained a mystery.

But Toronto Police are hoping a new sketch of the man can help to finally reveal his identity."
"Anyone with information regarding this man’s identity is urged to call the Missing Persons Unit at 416-808-7411 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477)."

Submitted yesterday, talked to detective today, will let you know..

Received this, I guess there was some unlisted tattoos James Pearce.

"Not a match but thanks for the info. James has some pretty distinctive tattoos himself on his hands that we would have seen if they were the same guy."

Thanks again,

Joel

I looked up the name "Tony Pass".

There was a now deceased maker of banjos by that name. It is not a common name.

The date "October 4, 1988" does not seem to offer anything of value to this case either, that I could see. It would appear that his clothing likely came from donations and the names and dates are likely dead ends.
