so many people look like the candy man sketch, it's crazy. I've seen more guys who look more like the sketch than this guy in the past 2 weeks.

BUT, the Liggett guy fits the bill to me for JR. he has the look/energy of someone into dark stuff.

Ari looks an awful lot like the Candy POI:

is that accurate? last I heard if we linked the thread and didn't quote anything it was ok.

and thanks for the link!

Quoting myself to add:
What is discussed in the scanner thread has to stay in the scanner thread. You can't bring the scanner info up here to the "upstairs".

Same here but in my opinion it's been going on more than a few weeks in the last year I would say these cases have increased dramatically. I started to notice the increase with the cases of Leiby and Laura Ackerson which are both evil, tragic and very disturbing.

I have yet to hear of a case of dismemberment in the UK in my lifetime but there may be some.

Well, I live in the Denver area so I was meaning here in Denver. I haven't followed many cases around the nation so I don't know how much of this exist other places. Denver had just been a very safe place during our time here...other than mass shootings...we do seem to have more than our share of those.

Wow, nothing like this in the UK, huh?

Most any white male with an average face will resemble the Arvada sketch, and probably half the Hispanic and Middle Eastern guys with light complexions. That guy is so generic that I bet you wouldn't notice him if he walked past you on the street.

Note, not saying the sketch is generic, but that there's not a lot distinctive about the person it's trying to represent.

This photo was taken in 2010. You can find it here: http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2010/03/ari_misha_liggett_weird_chemic.php

I think there's a resemblance.

Holy crap. Facial structure, eyes spaced close together but wide open with the same droop on the lower lids...very similar nose. Mouth is pretty much identical.

ETA: is the photo with Ari with long hair from today? If so that could explain the "receding hairline" if he was wearing his hair back. And you can see the hairline on his temple is very similar to the candy man's.

I just put a pic on the scanner thread. He has a gas mask for sale with a Boulder address, and said it fit over his beard, so he's shaved from the recent pic with long hair, unless that's an older pic. Boulder's 7 miles north of Superior. He did live in a homeless shelter there when he was arrested two years ago. If his hair is pulled back, it resembles him.

<this guy's house in relationship to other locations>

I don't know what the protocol is here, as far as discussing this guy as a suspect in this thread, since an official link hasn't been made to Jessica <yet>?

Think I'll stay away from this one til a link has been made, but just incase you guys are wondering, I linked a map.

Sorry but I think you guys are talking yourselves into this one. JMO.

One big problem: nobody looking at Ari is going to forget those eyes. The sketch isn't even close in that area -- Ari's eyebrows are straight, his eyes are hooded, and they're bright blue, not brown.

Just wondering something about Pattridge Park and the old mines there...
Didn't I read that high school kids go there at night ? (to drink beer? and be daring?)

Kids from which high schools?
Maybe the perp had first hand knowledge about that area because he used to go up there himself? And knew that it would be quiet and deserted on a nasty night?
With a fairly low chance of being seen while throwing out a garbage bag there.

There might be some way to look at old year books, eliminate some students, and still be able to check a manageable amount of ex-students? Too many?

I'd say anywhere, really. Westminster High, Arvada, Golden, Superior, Louisville, Lafayette....Anywhere. Driving from one town to another is no big deal here, when I was a teen I was frequently in Boulder and Westminster, both miles from home. Smaller towns don't have a lot to offer teens so they go out.

This, exactly.

I realize that LE is saying the two incidents don't seem to be connected at this time. But was candy man really giving out any candy or just saying he had some as a lure? Why would someone have potassium cyanide??.....it's highly toxic = poison?? Smells like almonds?? All just MOO :(

O/T: You should. They are totally awesome.

We did the same thing as GrianneDhu -- walked along them for miles. We were on the Sublette Cutoff in Wyoming, which is a long dry way across, and we found some pieces of broken china and old forks where a pioneer wagon probably unloaded excess weight to ease the strain on his wagon team. And it's so wide open the land seems to go on forever.

You can also see parts of the old Bozeman Trail along US89 between Ennis and Norris in Montana. I'm sure there are more.

More: Oldest road in the US when Onate entered the US from Mexico to found New Spain (now Santa Fe, NM) around 1598.

And he has a terrible complexion.

And I'm just hearing about this guy with his mother's body parts in the car. What's the deal? News starts in 5 minutes, but OMG that is bizarre.
