I work security for a rather large healthcare tech company in KC. We have several buildings around the city. One of them is an old casino right on the river, also right next to where they had the police post the first few days. On Monday before Lisa was reported missing, we also had a dumpster fire that was found around 8pm at this building. The only one still there was a cleaner. I dispatched my officers down there and the fire department came and put out the fire. We narrowed it down to the cleaner going out for a smoke which she does all the time, and tossing her cigarette into the dumpster. It's been really dry here. And there were cans of sterno fuel in the dumpster from catering. I didn't think much of it until the next day when detectives showed up to talk with my officer that is posted at that building during the day, although he was not there for the fire. The detectives then returned the next day.

I only bring this up because there is direct river access from behind our building. Other spots would make it difficult to reach the river in that area, which again is accessible by both major streets that surround the Irwin house, Brighton and Chouteau (also the same street as Festival Foods where the wine was purchased and where the diapers were found in the abandoned house).

I don't think our fire had anything to do with case, but I just wanted to say that the river is very close and you can drive or walk to the edge.

bbm= wow! So it's very possible the fire had nothing to do with anything? Just found this as I was reading other posts and it is the first I've seen anywhere about this, so I was just shocked. Is that the last we heard about this? No further info on the cleaner etc/??

This was a different dumpster fire. This one was around 8 PM behind a casino. The other one was around 2:30 AM next to some apartments. I find it a bit odd that the one was at 8 PM and a call was supposedly placed around 8:30 PM. The other one was around 2:30 AM and there was supposedly a call made at around 2:30 AM. (I do realize that one or both of these calls may not really exist because of the changing time lines).

I put yes on this one... mostly because the two "theories" that seem most plausible to me ( either DB or Jersey/MW) involve people who don't have the means to travel very far to get rid of evidence... Also, the location of the dumpster coincides with the sightings and the direction the man seen with baby was walking. This is also why I just can't get past thinking the Watson's house (sprinkler house) needs to be checked by le or dogs... If DB or Jersey/MW are involved then there is likely another place/sight involved that has evidence! And it is going to be close since none of these folks seem to have transportation.. not sure about MW though. Does anyone know if she has a car/dl???

@jessamakki Megan tells me she had a car up until about 10days before Lisa disappeared, but wasn't running.nit sure last time it ran.

Where did the Community searchers search today? Did it include this area?

According to Mary Hunt, the Watson's neighbor, the Watsons did allow LE to search the house. They also took plaster casts of footprints in the yard. (Don't ask me for a link though, because I'm google blind at this point.)

LE may have had a great lead (if the shoe prints had anything to do with this case) but thanks to this neighbour for broadcasting this info...these shoes that made the imprints will be long gone.

LE was all over this yard the very next day. This is the area they were concentrating on the most with their initial searches. I think it is because of the neighbors telling LE these very stories that morning. They also were really checking the townhouses directly behind this house more than the rest of the townhouses. This tells me anyway that they knew this info then.

So the townhouse where the dumpster fire was is HOW far from the apartment complex that MW and 8 people lived at?

If it is the area I was told about 3 miles or more. I am not positive on the accuracy of that address though.

What exactly happened with the dumpster? LE took it? Can someone explain. Thanks!

Jim Spellman did a video showing the route that Megan & Jersey would take cutting through the neighbors yard to the dumpster. It wasn't far at all. I'll try to find it but I remember him walking the path.

ETA, Here's the transcripts from HLN

SPELLMAN: That`s right. There`s a garbage Dumpster that is directly behind a yard, right around the corner from Baby Lisa`s house. And this yard that connects the street around the corner from her house and this Dumpster is a yard where he worked, where John Tanko, the man known as Jersey, worked from time to time. That day he was working, turning sprinklers on and off.

This was a route that we know, from what a neighbor has told us, and what his ex-girlfriend, Megan Wright, has told us, was their common route in and out of this neighborhood, was past this Dumpster and through this yard.

The place I was referring to as being 3 miles away is where MW was living in Oct when the phone call was made. She lived up from the dumpster before that time when she was kicked out in Aug. The dumpster is VERY close.

So HLN is reporting "it took two weeks for LE to take the dumpster". Does that mean it sat there for two weeks after the fire before they removed it for evidence?

Did they do an initial search, then come back and confiscate it?

I got the idea the dumpster contents were searched at the dump.

That could be true but what about forensic evidence that could be "stuck" inside of the dumpster itself?

What baffles me is that the waste company was allowed by the HOA to leave it there in the unsightly condition it was in. I would have had them remove it immediately.

Has there been confirmation about what started the fire?
A tossed cigarette?
Sterno?
A smoldering ashtray?
Kerosene?

anything?

No confirmation, but an eyewitness to the fire stated that the flames rose 3 feet into the air. He speculated that an accelerant must have been involved.

(Can't provide you with a link, though, because that link is now dead.)

I am behind in my reading so forgive me if these questions have already been answered. What was actually found in the burnt dumpster?

It's not unusual for a dumpster to catch of fire but it does seem strange that is happened that night in that area. JMO.

We don't know. We do know that, according to DB, LE showed her burnt clothes. Whether or not those clothes came from the dumpster is anyone's guess. On the face of it, one would assume it must be, but it's every bit as possible that LE showed DB burnt clothes that had nothing to do with the dumpster in order to gauge her reaction.

Also, I find a bit suspicious that jersey has a arson charge on his 1998 mug shot...
