@darling136 oh my goodness, what?! If they had contact with the individual, how could they have made an error about whether or not it was Jenna? At first I was thinking maybe if the individual was terribly hurt, but it didn't sound like that was the case when they originally released that she was found.

ETA: I'm referring to the police, not the family.

What the holy flip flop?!?! I can't imagine being that family.

http://www.decaturish.com/2017/08/a...ished-from-druid-hills-home-is-still-missing/

Yesterday, her family reported that she had been found and is safe. But the family received bad information from DeKalb County Police, according to her brother.

“It sounds like they thought they had her last night and this morning they told us they made a mistake,” her brother said. “So we’re meeting with the detectives right now to figure out what actually happened.”
"

This is crazy!
How could Delalb make this sort of mistake?
Hopefully Jenna is alive and well somewhere.

Hopefully msm will take more of an interest.

What a rollercoaster for the family. Could you imagine?

Something just didn't seem right with the amount of time missing and no phone/bank activity. I hope they find her for real this time ... soon!

Hi everyone! I am just now discovering this website. I am the brother, and very happy to see others trying to help out as well.
We did receive information last night that another Jurisdiction was following a lead and had picked up Jenna, but would not tell us any more information on where and that it was an ongoing investigation.
This morning we had received a call from Dekalb police, that the information was wrong and that there was no indication she had been picked up or any activity from that backpage website that was mentioned in the nextdoor posting.
Officially prior to this we had not been corresponding directly with detectives at Dekalb PD as we were assured the inspectors were on the case, however that was not the case

We have met with the detectives this morning who have escalated the case. We have no new information as of yet.

Parents were on vacation last week and supposed to return this Saturday (have returned early )
Jenna was going to be staying at the house to watch the cat that she was very attached to.
She had mentioned to me as well as a vet assistant that she would be home all weekend (so the vet could help give meds to the cat)

What we do know is that last Friday night she had left a friends place to come home around 11pm, in my mother's car (currently at the house)
2 am had sent a text to a friend that she was going to bed.

From there we do not know what happened.
I came home to the house 10 am saturday to check up and give the cat her meds.
Doors locked, but inside lights on, tv on (not like her) and a painting / tapestry missing from a picture frame
Her phone chargers were at the house, but phone gone as well as purse and car.
We know she would have worked with me and the vet assistant (who didn't have a key to the house) if she had planned to leave

I'm seeing quite a bit of activity on this thread for guests. 27 guests at the moment.

If you are friends/family member, please check out the threads at this link for how to get the case in the media, how to make missing persons flyers, how to obtain outreach... etc.

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?16-MISSING

I have not seen another MSM article other than the one posted above. I have not seen a LE/Missing Pieces Network etc. flyer for distribution, or family outreaching to the media yet either. I have indeed seen the father posting on facebook, which we are not allowed to link per TOS here.

ETA: 38 guests now on this thread just 3 minutes later. A dearth of information perhaps that only one article and WS showing when one googles her name?

:bump: for any family members looking here. Getting it in MSM to force the efforts of police at her age may be key. Nefertiti Jaquez at WSB Nefertiti.Jaquez@wsbtv.com was very helpful on another case. Flood the local stations to get interest, but know that it may put a microscope on her life.

If a family member or a person close to the case wants to post, you may want to get approved by the moderators, or unfortunately, your posts may be removed :( as it may be considered rumor by someone unverified. It's for protection of others and victims. Let me check to see how you can get verified if you are wanting to post and your posts will then not be removed.

For those close to the case that may want to post, and not have deleted if you have inside information to share, please note the below information. :grouphug: to the family. Just reach out and ask, and we can flood requests for local media to cover, which is so important. Also, it help LE get the pressure needed for someone above the age of 21 in many cases.

If folks need help searching internet sites mentioned on other sites, we have a few members here who helped with that site in earlier cases. Let us know if you want us to help search that and we can send out the bat signal to verify if/if not she was on there.

What are the results of her phone pings? Did LE share with family? Was there an original mixup on the license plate number (first flyer and info had a different tag number), as the metro area has quite a few roving tag readers, and stationary ones. Finding the car/pinging is key :moo:

Boyfriend?

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I did see Nancy Grace covered in her blog, and MIssing Pieces Network has a flyer, but getting on local media... would really help :moo:

Welcome to Websleuths.
There are some wonderful posters here, intelligent and experienced..hopefully they can be a good resource for your family.

What is the significance to the painting/tapestry? Is it a monetarily valuable piece or sentimental only? If the house was in disarray as stated was nothing else missing? I see she is developmentally delayed, does she episodes of anger or disorientation?
Any commercial buildings or neighbors with cameras?
She works and is independent and graduated college per her FB so she is certainly not incapable of caring for herself. Has she disappeared ever before? Does she have a bf or gf? Have you had her phone pinged?

If a criminal thought a painting was worth money, they would remove it from the frame & roll it up to transport
I saw somewhere it was a tapestry though so maybe more of a personal value

Painting was missing from a frame on the wall? I thought something was missing on the wall but I did not realize that they had removed a painting from a frame, and assume from this ....the frame was left behind?

Perhaps I am understanding it incorrectly, or poor journalistic communication?

I wish I knew what was missing.

Was it a painting of the family?

Was it a non-sentimental valuable painting?

Specifically saying it was a painting, and it was removed from the frame...and not a photograph, leads me to  ...

Again I wonder if it is poor journalism communication and I am not reading it correctly.

Welcome to Webseluths!! A fabulous place with amazing people!! Thank you for sharing all of this information! I want to apologize for all your family has gone through this last week with the PD & especially with the mixup. That was unacceptable. I can't even imagine going through that.

Also, as Bently mentioned, we would love to have you as an 'insider' & would hate to see any of your posts removed. When you have a minute, you may want to send an email so they can verify you & keep all of your great info here! [emoji4] Again, Welcome!!
