Found Deceased GA - Quinton Simon - Missing From Home - Mom ARRESTED- Savannah #4

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A bond hearing has been set for Leilani Simon, a mother charged in the death of her toddler, Quinton Simon.

According to court documents obtained by Channel 2 Action News, Leilani Simon’s defense team filed the petition in late February.

In the petition, attorneys say that Simon should be granted bond due to not posing a risk of fleeing the court’s jurisdiction, committing any felonies and obstructing officers regarding the case.

Simon's bond hearing and arraignment are set for March 23.
First article says the bond hearing is on March 20 and second article says March 23.
Anyone know if her hearing was today?

A day before accused murderer Leilani Simon is set to make her first actual appearance in a Chatham County courtroom, the WSAV Investigative Unit has learned attorneys in the case are asking the judge to throw out the three murder charges against her.

It was is known as a “special demurrer,” Leilani Simon’s attorneys claim the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office didn’t provide enough detail to support the charges against Simon.

Defense attorneys called the charges “imperfect in form,” adding the counts “failed to allege any manner of death, any manner in which any cruel and excessive physical pain was inflicted, or the nature of any object or weapon which resulted in any serious injury to the victim.”

It's going to be pretty hard to tell the manner of death because LS threw little Quinton in a dumpster and then he was hauled off to a land fill and laid there for weeks.

The cause is homicide IMO, he didn't pack himself into a backpack, tote or whatever means she transported him, by himself. She's a cold hearted soul, I see it in her eyes.

She isn't going anywhere, NO BOND.

A team of public defenders asked the judge to let Simon out of jail on bond saying it was her hope to reunite with her two other young children.
[snip]
Simon's attorneys argued that she should be released because she's from Savannah, stayed in town when she was still considered a person of interest, and because there is a Department of Family and Children Services case plan in place.
Leilani Simon, accused of murdering young son, arraigned and denied bond

sentence one - delusional
sentence two - same.

Ridiculous and a waste of the court's time.

the judge looks no no-nonsense.

Seriously Leilani? I hope the court never lets you anywhere near the surviving children. And what the heck kind of DFCS plan is in place? Didn't help Quinton one bit.

Oh, this woman makes me so angry! Grr. Yep, a waste of the court's time IMO.

She should never be near a child again.

It's like an arsonist asking for a lighter because he just wants a cigarette. Who the hell would take the risk? She's shown what she's capable of.

Raw video of the arraignment

SAVANNAH, Ga. —
A mother accused of killing her toddler and dumping his body in a dumpster at a Savannah mobile home park was arraigned Thursday morning.

Dressed in a floral top, black slacks and face mask, Leilani Simon, 23, was joined by a team of three defense attorneys.

*************
Chatham County Judge Tammy Stokes denied Simon’s attorney’s request for bond Thursday “based on the risk that she would commit a felony while on bond and there’s risk of flight as well.”

Judge Stokes also denied Simon’s lawyer’s request to postpone her client’s arraignment, saying hearings for future motions would be scheduled only after an arraignment.

The judge also said motion hearings in the case will be scheduled soon.
