Doug Weinstein, attorney for Deamonte Kendrick, asked Collins if his client was involved in the incident and Collins said he was not.

The state keeps bringing witnesses dealing with incidents involving defendants that are no longer part of this trial, so defense attorneys are simply asking these witnesses if their clients are or were involved in the incidents witnesses are testifying about.

Office Christopher Collins is first up today. He is testifying about overt acts 48-50 - July 3, 2015 involving defendant Trontavious Stephens aka Tick aka Slug. He took plea on 12/29/22. He was released time served, 8 years probation and must testify if called, cannot invoke the 5th. This goes to count 1, that every defendant is charged with, Conspiracy to Violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RCIO)

Reminder: The state is presenting overt acts that are with defendants no longer in this trial because they need to prove crimes were committed as 'an enterprise', criminal street gang.

2:14 PM · Dec 8, 2023

Trontavious Stephens was found in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon plus marijuana and oxycodone charges. (July 3, 2015)

Two weeks later on July 15, 2015, Trontavious Stephens was arrested again along with Shannon Stillwell. Stephens again got charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon.

I took a look at the indictment the other day. The number of times I saw "possession of a firearm by convicted felon" and the conviction date listed was only a few months prior was disgusting. Why were all of these criminals out roaming the streets so quickly?

Furthermore, there were three guys who were charged with attempted murder after they stabbed a rival gang member while they were INCARCERATED in 2/2022 and then one of those same guys was charged in the murder of Shymel Drinks ONE MONTH LATER. This was Damekion Garlington. How was he out of jail and free to kill a living, breathing human being only one month after he tried to kill someone else while he was incarcerated??? That one's on Atlanta, in my opinion. There is absolutely no justifiable excuse for that.

This is his timeline --
2/9/2022 - he (and two others) were charged with attempted murder after they stabbed a rival gang member with a shank while incarcerated
3/14/2022 - he (and three others) shot and killed a rival gang member in a drive-by shooting

Like WTF, MATE!

Prosecutor Simone Hylton is arguing that they should be able to bring up the social media threats.

3:56 PM · Dec 8, 2023

Before the jury is brought out, attorneys are arguing about some of the possible testimony from May.Young 's attorney Brian Steel is arguing about some alleged social media threats May claims to have received weeks after the encounter. He wants no mentions of those threats

3:56 PM · Dec 8, 2023

The state's next witness, officer Christopher May will testify about an alleged incident involving Young , whose real name is Jeffery William, in which the rapper made threats against him at Perimeter Mall.

At one time, ATL was a fun city and you really only had traffic to fuss about. Sadly, crime takes over and traffic is no longer the main problem, it's your safety, as it is for many major cities in America. Buckhead, Perimeter mall, and many of the upscale areas are infested with crime. moo

Judge Glanville appeared to have reconsidered after defense attorneys provided previous cases until DA Hylton explained the situation. Glanville is allowing the alleged social media threats May received weeks after the encounter to be included in his testimony.

The jury is finally being brought into the courtroom after more than an hour-long break for them, while the court dealt with argument from attorneys.

Yes, my niece is at Georgia Tech and I worry about her all the time.

Surveillance video of the whole incident was shown to the jury inside the courtroom.

May said he then stepped back and called Dunwoody PD. They went back to the Champs to try to identify those involved.The manager of Champs told him one of the three individuals was Young . May googled him and recognized Young as the man who threatened him.

May along with other officer continue to follow the three individuals involved, including Young , throughout the mall until they got to the outside area.When they got into their vehicle, May alleges Young said, “I’m going to come back here and shoot you in the face.”

May said they tried to tell individuals that they were not allowed to use hoverboards inside the mall. One of them told May, "*advertiser censored** you, I'm leaving," before they got on the escalators on the hoverboard.

Officer Christopher May testified about the incident at Perimeter Mall on July 7, 2015 involving Young .May said he was working at the mall as a security officer at the time when they were called to Champs store about individuals in hoverboards.

Here is a 2015 story from @ByTylerEstep about the arrest of Young after the incident at Perimeter Mall.

Rapper Young was arrested Wednesday morning, eight days after allegedly threatening to shoot a Perimeter Mall security guard in the face.

The 23-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was arrested without incident around 6 a.m. at a residence in Sandy Springs, according to Jim Joyner, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The U.S. Marshals were helping Dunwoody police serve a warrant charging Williams with terroristic threats.

Young 's attorney Brian Steel is cross-examining May now. He wants to go back through the video and ask May questions about it.

May testified that as they were going up the escalators on the hoverboard, Young and the two other people, were yelling and being loud.Steel is asking if they were being loud, how come nobody around the escalator turns around or reacts to them having the alleged argument.

@cathyrusson

Overt act 51 - "*advertiser censored*** you, we're leaving, I will come back up here and shoot you in the face," prosecutors say on 7/7/15, Jeffery Williams aka #YoungThug threatened a mall security guard after he informed and his friends they were no longer welcomed at the mall. They had been riding their hover boards. Prosecutor to witness: Did you understand that to be behavior that is 'Truly Humble Under God' (what defense says stands for.)

@JozsefPapp_

Steel questioned May about the fact that none of the other security officers from the mall at the scene say that Young made the threat, even though May claims the rapper made it.

5:28 PM · Dec 8, 2023

Going back to the alleged social media threats, May said that he never notify Dunwoody PD or any other police department about those social media threats.

@JozsefPapp_

Judge Glanville asked both prosecutors and Brian Steel for a bench conference. The last couple of days, he told the jury that we were going to go until about 5 p.m. today.It's 5:41 p.m.

5:41 PM · Dec 8, 2023

May said he didn't call the police after the alleged social media threats, after doing some research on Young and realizing how famous he was. He decided to just leave it and move on.

5:46 PM · Dec 8, 2023

@JozsefPapp_

We are done with officer Christopher May's testimony. He won't be called back to testify by the state. We are done for the day, as well. We'll be back on Monday Dec. 11 at 9:30 a.m.

5:54 PM · Dec 8, 2023

Glanville is once again telling jurors to let the court know if anyone tries reaching out to them and to stay off social media sites.
