Found Deceased Germany: 6 teenagers found dead in garden house.29 January 2017

Aww no. That is so sad. All those beautiful young people---gone so tragically. :rose: :rose: :rose:

Officials are looking into "who is responsible for installing the device". So the gas generator was actually installed in the garden house?

Maybe it had some kind of exhaust pipe through the wall or a window?

It is hard not to try envisioning how this could happen, how not one of them had a better resistance or position in the house to notice everyone else passing out...ugh it is so horrible!

It's super hard to believe but at the same time, the last one standing so to speak would likely just think all his/her friends had fallen asleep :( That or they were all already fast asleep when the carbon monoxide overtook them :(

Early story* pointed to wood burning stove in operation during party as possible CoD, but newer story says gasoline-powered generator is to blame. Either one can cause CO2 deaths. Regardless, sad, sad, sad.

A safety reminder for all of us:
".... safe operation of appliances, heaters, fireplaces, and internal-combustion engines, ...Carbon monoxide is tasteless and odourless so can not be detected by smell.[SUP][85][/SUP]
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has stated, "carbon monoxide detectors are as important to home safety as smoke detectors are," and recommends each home have at least one carbon monoxide detector, and preferably one on each level of the building.[SUP][86][/SUP] These devices, which are relatively inexpensive[SUP][87][/SUP] and widely available, are either battery- or AC-powered, with or without battery backup,.... the device sounds an alarm, giving people the chance to evacuate and ventilate the building....

"In the USA, NFPA 720-2009,...
guidelines published by the National Fire Protection Association, mandates the placement of carbon monoxide detectors/alarms on every level of the residence, including the basement ...."
