Eight dead in mass shooting in Hanau, Germany
"Eight people are dead following two shootings in the western German city of Hanau, local media report.

Five others were reportedly injured after an unknown attacker opened fire on two shisha bars in the city.

The first shooting was at a bar in the city centre, while the second was in Hanau's Kesselstadt neighbourhood, according to the reports.

Officials say the suspects fled the scene and are currently at large, Bild newspaper says.

Police officers and helicopters are patrolling both areas.

Three people were killed in the first shooting, and five in the second, regional broadcaster Hessenschau reports. The motive for the attack is unclear.

Hanau, in the state of Hessen, is about 25km (15 miles) east of Frankfurt."

Law enforcement hasn't commented on the identities of the injured or dead. It's too early.

Bild (German media) says the first shooting occurred at the Midnight shisha bar in Heumarkt in the town centre. Then there was a second attack at the Arena Bar & Cafe in Karlsbader Strasse.

Yes, it looks like right-wing ideology and hatred for foreigners were a motive. I'm a bit surprised at the age of the gunman. He was a middle-aged man.

"A 43-year-old German man shot and killed nine people at several locations in a Frankfurt suburb overnight in attacks that appear to have been motivated by far-right beliefs, officials said Thursday."

In his manifesto, he must have been referring to the possibility that there are more secluded bases like the Muslim extremist terrorist training camp found in New Mexico in 2018. Where the remains of a little boy were found.

Horrifying details released in investigation of 'extremist Muslim' compound that allegedly conducted school-shooting training

According to Heavy.com: "Kings College London Professor, Peter Neumann said that Rathjen called for the extermination of persons from the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa. Rathjen did not name Islam or any other religion by name, Neumann said."

"Rathjen alleges that the U.S. is under the control of “invisible secret societies.” He accuses them of being “evil” and using a “modern system of slavery.”"

So according to Rathjen, the US is evil, and the attack was not religiously motivated, but racially.

My take...Lone nut bag with mother issues.

9 killed in suspected far-right attack in Germany
''Witnesses and surveillance videos of the suspect's getaway car led authorities quickly to his home, near the scene of the second attack, where he was found dead near the body of his 72-year-old mother, said Peter Beuth, the interior minister for the state of Hesse.

Neighbour Dieter Hog said he looked out his window and saw 25 or 30 police officers with dogs combing the area.

"They were running around looking for the fugitive who was involved," Hog told The Associated Press, adding that even though he lived close by he did not know the suspect.

Both the suspect and his mother had gunshot wounds, and the weapon was found on the suspect, Beuth said.''

"Initial analysis of the web page of the suspect indicate a xenophobic motivation," he said. It does not appear, however, that the suspect was known either to police or Germany's domestic intelligence agency, he added.

He said federal prosecutors have taken over the investigation of the crime and are treating it as an act of domestic terrorism.''

Tobias Rathjen: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com
''Tobias Rathjen killed 10 people in Hanau, Germany, on the night of February 19.

Rathjen, 43, has been described as “xenophobic” by a police spokesperson. A manifesto, a well as videos, were left behind by the victim, showing his political beliefs and theories surrounding Donald Trump, eugenics as well as identifying himself as an incel.''

''Neumann said that Rathjen believed that certain races were superior to others. The suspect wrote that he was an incel and that he had not had a relationship with a woman for more than 18 years. Rathjen says this was by choice. Typically, incels believe that they are victims of “involuntarily celibacy.”

Age wise, nearly all extremists of all orientations, stripes and religions can be placed into two general groups:
    A. Young zealots
    B. Frustrated middle aged males.

Group ‘B’, frustrated middle aged males, are very common (though Islamacist movements have demonstrated the ability to consistently recruit young zealots). Usually the middle aged attackers have a string of failed relationships, failed jobs, or a long history of lower status employment.

This leads to well, frustration, and the need to blame somebody. As they are middle aged, they are also old enough to remember life before large scale demographic and social changes. Anyways, recent middle aged terrorists have included:

Pittsburg synagogue attacker- (middle aged truck driver)

Kosher Deli attackers- (both middle aged, history of low status / low wage employment)

Senatorial baseball attacker- (Middle aged, home business had steadily deteriorated. New business not forthcoming as he gained a reputation for damaging the property of the "rich").

    'Far-right extremist' behind Germany killings
Authorities are examining a video that appears to be from the suspect, posted online days before the attacks, in which he expresses right-wing conspiracy theories. German media say he also left a letter of confession.

The attack comes amid growing concerns about far-right violence in Germany. Speaking in Berlin, Mrs Merkel said: "Racism is a poison. Hate is a poison and this poison exists in our society and is already to blame for many crimes."

The 71% is a misnomer. Too many variables were included in the measurement of a what constitutes a right-wing or left-wing terrorist attack according to PolitiFact.
Plus, we are speaking about Germany.
Since January, 2019 until today in Germany.
    Number of Left Wing Attacks
    4
    Number of Right Wing Attacks
    5 (yesterday's attack included)
    Number of Islamic Attacks
In December 2019, German authorities reported to have thwarted 9 Islamic terrorist plots since the 2016 Berlin truck attack.
