The benefit of secure storage is most, as far as I know, have cameras all over the place to a) combat and deter theft and b) combat and deter their unit renters from using the units for hinky and/or illegal purposes.

Wonder when and how he planned to clean everything up, throw stuff away. He's 59 but retirement years are approaching. He has the land in SC where he wanted to retire, but it would've taken time to secretly get rid of incriminating stuff. He has so much! Did he plan to haul the whole mess from the house and storage units with him to the empty lots in SC?

Whatever his plan was, it would take time, money, and effort to put it in place. Wonder what he had in mind to to?

I've read in this thread an arson theory and collect insurance money. Idk how much weight that holds since any suspicious fire would be seriously investigated by the FD as well as their insurance company... however considering his house was hoarder status there would be a high likelyhood the FD would not go for an interior fire attack, and pretty much contain the fire to just the house/water only from the exterior and focus their attention on preserving surrounding properties.

It is possible, yes... and if he put some serious time and effort into it could def get away. But seems like a huge risk considering it would bring lots of attention to his kill site.

They have cameras. I know the two places he had units. Looks like he had drive up units, easy to unload his truck. I’m sure LE is reviewing footage.

Do storage units have electrical hookups so that one could install a freezer?
I can guess RH may have had a use a for a storage unit with a large freezer.
You would have to request one in advance. They are hard to come by.

I strongly believe Jamie Diane Seymour is a very solid candidate for a potential victim. She fits a lot of his preferences and matches the circumstances of some other victims. She was never found. She went missing 22nd July 2005, which would fill in some of that big years-long gap between Jessica Taylor and Cherries.

how many women and/or SW have been reported missing from Long Island over the past 20+ years who have not been found?

Someone posted a link to unsolved murderers/missing persons on Long Island since the early 80’s, it was incredibly interesting. I’m trying to find it and I can’t seem to locate it but I will DM it if I come across it.

Edit:
I cannot for the life of me find it. I could swear I was just looking at it last night and it was a more recent post (like on this thread), but I can’t find it.

Not to throw water on the idea of the storage unit as a base for disposal of victims, because it's a good one, but I may have a personal insight, here, as someone with more than one hoarder in the extended family (one who's just as bad as any tv show you've seen) and packrat tendencies myself... They may just have got a unit when they ran out of room at home. And then when that was full, got a second.

As I said, doesn't mean he didn't use them for nefarious purposes or store trophies from victims, there, too.

His victim's leftovers, in which form ever, he could have visited easier at home, without surveillance cameras, IMO.

I feel Shannan was possibly one of RH’s victims. He spent time late at night in the area. Did she run to him in his truck for help while trying to escape? Was he possibly at the house she ran from - she expected one client - arrived - and there was another person there also? I listened to the released 911 tapes and they have haunted me since! Something was horrifically wrong! Some have asked why she didn’t run to Pak’s truck for help but is anyone sure it was in fact Pak’s truck? I keep thinking she ran and was picked up by RH due to Baden’s autopsy results.

I encourage everyone to watch the interviews with former escort Nikki (the hair stylist).

She said RH mentioned human hunting party’s. She also mentioned she doesn’t think he did this alone (watch the Fox, NewsNation w/ Cuomo & TikTok Reposted on YouTube by NY Post.

I would NOT be shocked to find out others were involved. Either directly a party that Shannon Gilbert was called out to for a job the night she disappeared and later found in the marsh, or after the fact.
The reason I believe RH almost confessed to her is that he was dying to take credit or brag and thought she was safe because cops wouldn't believe an SW over an NYC architect.
If she told a cop would have taken her tip as credible?

I’m also from LI and have tried to look at it in the perspective of that stretch of dark, desolate land is a perfect dumping ground depending on the killers location. There are areas like it way out East, but it’s far and too risky. IMOO, I do believe that it is a possibility not every body found on Ocean Parkway is a victim of RH, simply for the fact that it’s “perfect” conditions to dump something or someone you wouldn’t want found. I wouldn’t be surprised either way, if that makes any sense.

I’d also like to add this: in regards to the body found in Lattingtown with the pig pendant on a beach….this is extremely close to the area I have spent my entire life in. It is very private, very isolated and unless you know the area well, you wouldn’t know it existed. That being said, is it too far fetched to wonder, if this case is related to RH, and that’s a BIG if, I wonder if he ever did work for clients on Long Island or networked with people that lived in that area that he met through his city connections and had visited their homes, therefore getting to know this area of LI a little bit.
I personally haven't rented one that ever had electrical hookups.
The storage facility he used in Amityville does not offer an electric hookup option

I believe on Long Island, cubesmart is the only facility that will install an outlet for an additional charge

It does and that really makes me angry.

If taken to its logical extreme, it's a unspoken criticism of the victims, as if her superior instincts saved her, so theirs must have been inferior to hers.

most people who survive and somehow prevent becoming a victim often think it must have been a divine intervention or I followed my gut.
Often there's no rhyme or reason but if sense something is off please RUN!

I honestly have no idea, but that wouldn't encompass victims like the GB4 or so many others that are potentially LISK victims, because they mostly travelled to LI from other places. Midtown Manhattan, New Jersey, Queens, and so on. And though some of them told others they were going to LI for an out call, not all did.

I suspect that even if it was exclusive to women known to have gone missing from LI, the number would be shocking. But expand it out to encompass the surrounding areas, and the number is going to be very large. But of course, not all of those will turn out to be victims of the same killer. Heck, not all of those will actually be dead - some will have skipped town or gone elsewhere and not know anyone is looking for them. But a few, possibly many more than a few, will be missing because they are dead, and dead because they were killed by the same person who killed Melissa, Megan, Amber, and Maureen. I don't believe their killer restricted himself to those four.

So the question is, how on earth do we find the rest? How do we find those others without bodies, without knowing their names?

First he would have had to build a new home. That would have been his first probably, and fastidious and argumentative like he is, it wouldn't have been a promenade.

On that night, Schaller said he came home to find the stranger threatening Costello, an occasional sex worker, who had locked herself in the bathroom. The two men came to blows, with the hulking intruder eventually leaving in the truck.

Snipped for focus.

IMO his account doesn't quite align with the description of the event laid out in the bail applicationon page 7:

"...a prostitution client showed up at Ms. Costello’s residence located in West Babylon, New York. After the client entered the home, a ruse was executed on the client whereby a person pretended to be the outraged boyfriend of Amber Costello and the client left from the residence, while Amber Costello retained the money the client had brought to pay for her services. the client entered the home, a ruse was executed on the client whereby a person pretended to be the outraged boyfriend of Amber Costello and the client left from the residence, while Amber Costello retained the money the client had brought to pay for her services."

I could have sworn I read somewhere there had been two Asian persons found deceased in women's clothing plus sugar bear. Now I'm wondering if I dreamt it, am going to look back over sugar bears thread. Whatever the case, the Doe they refer to as Asian Male doesn't seem to have as much attention as the other does.

I missed something who is Sugar Bear?!

Sadly, a lot of it is also luck or lack thereof.

exactly! But it is common for people to think they were spared by a Divine Being. I know that I'm guilty of it. If I am narrowly missed by a speeding car I feel as though someone higher up or a Guardian Angel is looking out for me, or if I g to a bar a guy offers me a drink my intuition says NO, and I listen to it then I find out the guy dosed someone else that night I will chalk it up to following my gut instincts and intuition.
