I don't get the feeling LE knows who this man is or is any closer to identifying him.

Tricia doesn't think more audio should be released because it would be too painful for the girls' families to hear.

They are now talking about the possibility that this case is connected to Lizzie and Lyric's case in Iowa.

Oh, my. Had to step away a little bit. I work with children and my heart breaks for these families. I hope this BG is caught- like, tonight! I probably can't watch the families plea for information but I am hopeful if someone is holding back they do a double-take and call that tip line.
Hang in there sleuths!

I just said the same thing upthread. LE is working hard, but they don't know who the perp is. IMO

Thank you! Something about that post doesn't convince me they know who it is yet. JMO.

There hasn't been any new information presented yet. They haven't even played the audio of the perp. I don't think Sheryl McCollum has any inside information. She's just kind of giving her opinion on everything we've discussed in these threads. She thinks the perp is local or very familiar with Delphi.

I agree. I really don't think she has any more information than we have dissected to death here in these threads unfortunately.

On the previous thread some suggested that we need to think out of the box <mod snip>

"difficulty making friends of the same age

Displays unusual nonverbal communication, such as lack of eye contact, few facial expressions, or awkward body postures and gestures

May
speak in a voice that is monotone, rigid, jerky or unusually fast

does
not empathize with or seems insensitive to others’ feelings"

Maybe someone in the area on social security disability, gets his disability checks via direct deposit, can live a long time without leaving the house, uses Amazon for food and supplies.

In any case, the part that I found interesting is quoted below. I recall officers on Libby & Abby's team saying the amount of resources being expended on this case was due to the fact that there were 2 of them. It seems that may be true, and not just a line. It seems that it is in fact quite rare. This article was written in May 2014. I wonder how many of these dual abductions/murders/maimings remain unsolved? And I wonder if they have made much headway with the database review. Very interesting!:

Abby and Libby's case is diabolical, mean and uncalled for. It may be rare for two girls to be victims together, so I hope the evidence researchers compile, like in your link, will help in developing a profile of the attacker in this crime, whether it was one guy with a weapon or two guys playing a ruse. It is such a selfish act of depravity. Hope everyone will join me in giving the families well wishes and prayers as they face the press conference coming up Thursday.

Quick question Kay if you are still here. Are we allowed to discuss what is on the radio show in this thread?

Yep, I'm still here (sorry for my delayed response)...& thanks for asking. I am waiting on a definitive answer from Tricia about the discussion of her show. Until she weighs in, I am comfortable with her show's content being discussed on this thread. If after the show, she wants to set any parameters, we'll adjust our discussion then :) HTH

IMO the age is a very good guess....30-45 years of age

Sheryl McCollum's opinion is that the perp did not know the girls and it was just a crime of opportunity. Tricia assumes the girls were sexually assaulted. Sheryl doesn't think Libby would have taken video of a person she knew or recognized.

I lean toward the upper end of that age range or maybe even older, but who knows. It's a very grainy picture and the guy might be a rough looking 30 year old.

I wonder how often this happens in the rest of the world.

I also wonder whether dual kidnappings are usually planned by the perp(s) or unplanned, with the second child not expected to be there but then taken anyway.

In other words, is there a type of predator who looks for and wants the "challenge" of kidnapping two children at once?

I think he was actually only after one of them.. The other one just happened to be there. But what are the chances of a young girl going out there alone. Most teenagers would take a friend to meet someone for the first time. I think it was an opportunity for him. Two were there at once.
I bet he was ecstatic.

Sorry but he fills me with hate...

Thursday is my first day of my new promotion at work. I may have to close the door for an hour for the presser. I doubt I will that's not a good way to start off.

No one will ever know. "I was doing some research..." haha

I'm listening to Tricia's show and am finding it helpful.
I haven't followed each post and every thread so I am catching up on what is presumably all of the ideas discussed and rehashed by you all.
I think it is interesting actually.

I think Sheryl's opinion that Libby would not have taken video of someone she knew is an excellent observation. I also agree with Sheryl that this guy is either currently local or grew up in or around Delphi.

I agree with her in that I think it was crime of opportunity. Unlike lots of people I don't think this was set up by the girls in advance to meet someone. If that were the case with the volume of agents working the case, that guy would be locked up already.
