Hey guys....I want to clarify that there was an arrest made for her murder but it is based on evidence only, there has been no body found. The family is still working with the Detective and PI to find her. Please continue to respect the family and give them the privacy they need right now to process all of this. Again all information will be updated as it is recieved. Thank you for your kind/postive thoughts and comments. Please no negative comments or reactions. The family does not need that.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Malik Sheron Davis, 22, of Lafayette, in connection with the disappearance of 18-year-old Jacquelyn “Daisy Lynn” Landry.

Davis was arrested around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center website, Davis is being held on a charge of second-degree murder. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Court records show Davis has a lengthy criminal history in Lafayette Parish.

Her boyfriend is friends with the guy they arrested. (From what I've been able to see while poking around in FB world.) From what I'm seeing on the news and FB groups, her body hasn't been found. I'm curious as to what evidence they have to arrest him for 2nd degree murder?

And in the 10 mins between my first and second read of that article, the part about finding a body has been removed... I'm hoping Daisy is alive and well and a reporter just had a bit of a learning experience.

They were searching in a subdivision near Target and Camellia Blvd. last night. KATC that only residents were allowed in during the search. I was hoping "Daisy" was just off on an adventure.

Her body had not been found as of Thursday evening, but Landry's relatives say evidence uncovered in the case has led detectives to consider the case a homicide.

Meanwhile, volunteer crews are expected to begin using boats and drones to comb the Vermilion River waterways. Landry's relatives have enlisted the help of local nonprofit Acadian Search and Rescue.
