Am I the only one bothered that his partner was taking cover across the street?

No you are not the only one--- sounds like it could be a setup by the indicted cops to have a **** silence him----JMO

“Detective Suiter was going to offer federal grand jury testimony about an incident that occurred several years ago that included officers who are now federally indicted back in March,” Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said of Sean Suiter.

The commissioner added that the evidence refutes that Suiter’s partner “was anything but just that — his partner.”

That officer took cover across the street upon hearing the sound of gunfire and then immediately called 911, he said.

This may have been covered already, I haven't read all the links, but apparently the "partner" with Suiter that day was not his usual partner. The plot thickens...

Did the officer not wear a video cam?

Knowing this officer was to testify in a federal case the next day, he should have been given an assignment in house or in a safe area to protect him. Why would his supervisor keep him in the dangerous district figuring people were out to get him before he testified?

And his partner took cover across the street? What did he do watch the bad guy fight the officer, take his gun, shoot him, run off .....and the partner did what? Nothing, just call 911. He sure proved to be the worst of any partners one could have!

Also, why the change of partners on this particular day? It all sounds like in-house corruption to me! JMO.

I would happily lose sleep over flashing lights or be late for work if it meant I was being protected. They're creating more problems than they already have. The cops don't have enough to worry about getting shot in the head but they have to field stupid complaints about flashing lights and your kid being late for school one day? Ridiculous IMO.

I think they're more worried about being harassed and falsely accused than being caught doing something illegal. What are the odds a cop murderer is going to harm them vs. the odds they'll be assaulted, intimidated or arrested without cause? We're all aware of the climate in the USA so it's no surprise some Baltimore residents don't trust LE.

Police confiscated footage of the partner's movements from a surveillance camera. The system is high-tech and even has night-vision capabilities.

Police have relied on the private camera in the past for footage and photos of suspects. The owner keeps a scrapbook.
The video could say a lot. The fact that it wasn't known to the partner that he was being videotaped may give LE a
truer picture of what actually occurred.

Watching it on fox45, it’s a very long procession, very impressive.
