It says Jan Cotta had no dental work and her teeth were in poor condition. Jane Doe has 11 teeth marked as F for fillings, inlay or veneer so Jan would have had to get all that dental work done after disappearing.

Well, that could fit. There's six years in which to get work done, and the UID clearly had bad teeth at one point.

Can you get an autoimmune disease from dirty needles (ie; used for tattoos)??

I don't know... You can get infections, for sure. Autoimmune disease means that your immune system starts to attack cells in your own body and it's my understanding that it's not totally clear what causes it in every case. There are genetic markers that predispose people to autoimmune disease. Some chemicals, drugs and infections are associated with it. The hygiene hypothesis says autoimmune disease becomes more common when environmental infections become more rarely seen. It's like your immune system doesn't know what to do anymore when they have no germs to fight so they start fighting benign stuff your own body produces.

I see the facial similarities in Jan Cotta/JD for sure.

bizarre. Jan Cotta's family had enough money for her to participate in equestrian events and she had a ring with 2 diamonds yet her teeth were in terrible condition.

Maybe it wasn't a question of money but she was terrified of dentists?
Once it got bad enough she might have found a dentist who did all her teeth under anesthesia.

I agree..! I should have rule out Lamberton for the eye color as well..Somehow I overlooked it.

Sandra Flynn Fisher vaguely reminded me of this UID's reconstructions. It's a huge leap, but wanted to list her here among the other suggestions: http://doenetwork.org/cases/2832dfky.html.

I say a huge leap because her family would have to not know of/forgotten to report her tattoos (or maybe she got them during a stint traveling with the carnival) and not know of/neglected to report the issue with her foot. She would have somehow lost her glasses, gained 20 pounds, and seemingly have traveled between Maryland, Florida, and Georgia without contacting home. She's also a year or two above the estimated age range.

Dentals are available on both Sandra Fischer and the Doe, so it could be ruled in or out.

They stopped showing the dental charts a few months ago in Namus so I can't say whether or not they look like a good match.

I remember reading that the Jane had about eleven fillings, correct? Which might match up with Sandra because while that is a lot of fillings, it's not "Extensive" dental work (Like a bridge or caps or something of that nature)

Also I don't think Vicke Lambertson would have gotten tattoos, looking at the pictures of her they have and reading that story it sounds as though she loved to change her appearance, and you really can't change tattoos once you get them.

But reading that story makes me believe she may have had some sort of mental disorder that would make her prone to wandering.. I just don't think she's this Doe.

She does have quite a resemblance to the UID. We have plenty of missing people who've wandered the country without contacting their families, so that's not really an objection.

If she was hit by a car, her glasses could have been flung away and not found.

The tats don't seem to be very large so they might have been hidden under her clothing or acquired after she left.

If the foot problem was a childhood injury that didn't give her any problems, her family might not have remembered it.

So none of the alone seems to rule her out. But maybe the totality of not-quite-right adds up to a ruleout. I dunno.

I am still wondering about Nelli Flickinger for this UID.
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/f/flickinger_nellie.html
I realize there is an eye color discrepancy, and we don't know whether Nellie had tattoos. According her charley project profile and other info I found about her online, it appears she had a habit of leaving and coming back, and online it sounds like maybe she didn't do a lot of the raising of her children. She may very well have had tattoos they didn't know about. As for eye color, a mistake?
Her stats, date last seen, etc seems to fit well.

The screws in her leg would probably have been reported.. But maybe not.

Has anyone turned these in? I not seeing any rule outs.

Also, when I read about the deformed left foot, I also immediately thought of Jan Cotta.

Here's some more MPs for Discussion:

Carol Roberts- tattoo, but not specified what type or where; scars and marks; dentals entered; initial DNA inquiry underway, no FP MP from FL
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/26838/11/

Mary Stuart: DNA only available; no dentals, no FP available MP from CA
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/10151/8/

Just MOO, but if the MP that matches the UID is in NAMUS, we are probably looking for someone who does not have dentals and/or DNA available.

is there any post mortem photos of this jane doe? There are so many pictures and drawings and some of them look different from each other.

There's a "Jane Doe Appeals" video on Youtube on the case that shows a morgue photo. According to the Doe Network, it can't be verified to be of this victim but it looks similar enough to the renderings of her.

Jan Cotta still strikes me as very similar to this UID, tbh. I wish we had some rule outs here.
