Just wanted to say, I'm not sure that the women (and young girls) are "appearing less than willing" as this is how they are forced into prostitution. Backpage is notorious for the the trafficking of victims, hence why faces are often not visible in the photos. The owners were charged a few months ago, but were never prosecuted. It's ridiculous. Shutting down Backpage would be a huge step in limiting the ease of trafficking these victims. JMO

It's the new Craigslist for escort services. Sometimes women appear less than willing participants. You need a strong stomach to go through them. I can't believe it's legal and report every one I go through. Figure if I can pull a few down it's better than nothing.

I firmly believe shutting down Backpage would put a HUGE dent in trafficking and prosecuting the owners would've sent a message to traffickers choosing to market online. Limiting the supply and ease would inevitable save victims being forced into prostitution. With "escorting" being a cover for prostitution, it baffles me how this continues to be an option in states where prostitution is illegal. But IMO, the Johns should also be prosecuted more severely. It's ultimately their demand that feeds the supply.

I'm not sure if our VI can assist in this, but a quick look at DS's Instagram displays some things I want to inquire about.

Liberty Greens - What was it? A community for foodies or a place?
Bishop Lake - She mentions she's made impromptu trips to this place to hike around. Is this a regular thing? Has it been searched? She seems to post pictures of the same location multiple times, is this Bishop Lake?
Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve - She found this place close to her work. Has this been searched?
"Secret spot" on Howard - Another forest or trail or park she visited. Same question as before. She earlier mentions the homes on Howard are amazing. (Is this what she speaks of:

Totally agree with prosecution of johns. In Wood County, Ohio (Toledo 'burbs and rural area both) prostitution busts are commonly reported to the news, and include pics of all involved. The embarrassment factor also helps to discourage, but it will never go away.

Depends on how long it's been since you've seen the person or if there's something pressing to discuss, i.e. holiday plans, let's do lunch or a movies, etc. I've bumped into people and stop to chat for "a few minutes", then realize I've been chatting for 20+ minutes and have to run - or the other person has to be on her way

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but do we know if there was a specific time she was to be at her friend's house? I know they planned on dinner but dinner at my house can be as late as 8 pm. Maybe she left work early because she has other things to do before heading over to her friends?

IDK....grasping at straws here but I still feel like we are missing huge pieces of the puzzle in respect to her plans to see a friend and what all that was about.

Thankfully, I have never been involved in anything re: LE and them asking me to keep quiet or whatever. It's probably a good thing. I love to talk and LE would probably have to sew my lips together.

Do we assume the friend was asked to keep quiet about details of the evening or do you think there really was not much else to it? This question seems so important to me for some reason.

I have to agree....I am new here and frankly, obsessed. :facepalm: Only 4 whole posts here and I have lost countless hours of sleep. In a good way! I just hope to learn from you all here. When I was a kid and people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I replied " a detective " ....i had a play kit and all. So here I am. I am glad that I found this forum. I have joined a few and most of them are so rude, an attack mentality. You all seem so kind.

It's all these little details that are missing that are making me crazy. What were they making...did she stop for food...did they have an exact arrival time or was it loose...who besides mom knew about the plans....etc

I have a lot more to say but again, I don't want to cross that line in terms of the friend and what she knows that we don't.

Just to be clear.. my thoughts are just about the details, not about the friend or some sort of involvement in any way other than waiting for a friend that didn't show.

What I saw was definitely in this discussion board, but it's so big I am using a hard time finding it again. The post was about hearing that she was seen entering a house onthe "east side" meaning north/east Detroit area. I think the post even has streets referenced.
