'Detroit — Police have a new suspect in custody Sunday in the killing of local Jewish leader Samantha Woll, two sources familiar with the investigation told The Detroit News.
The man is not an acquaintance of Woll's and appears to be a random stranger, the sources said. The suspect is not the same man who was released exactly one month ago after Detroit police held him for 72 hours as part of the Woll investigation.'
I suspect the blood evidence shows she was inside at some point, but I agree she could have been attacked as she was entering the home, perhaps forced inside for the initial attack, broke free and stumbled outside as she was dying. The random stranger thing is interesting...perhaps she NEVER made it indoors that night and was attacked at her doorstep.

Maybe whoever they've arrested likes to talk, and has related how he crossed paths with her. Some do, even though it's clearly not in their best interest if they choose later on to plead not guilty. The man arrested is not an acquaintance of Woll and, according to police, seems to be a 'random stranger.'
The suspect arrested Sunday is not the same man who was detained weeks ago.

um, if they think it was random how then are they sure it wasn't a hate crime? Was it a burglary/robbery gone wrong? Random psycho? waiting for more info on this one. Glad an arrest has been made and hoping this time they have the right person.
That is how I have envisioned it. jmoI suspect the blood evidence shows she was inside at some point, but I agree she could have been attacked as she was entering the home, perhaps forced inside for the initial attack, broke free and stumbled outside as she was dying.

I'm wondering if DNA results finally came back and they matched someone in a database.Maybe whoever they've arrested likes to talk, and has related how he crossed paths with her. Some do, even though it's clearly not in their best interest if they choose later on to plead not guilty.

Could be. If he has a recent prior felony, he could be in CODIS.I'm wondering if DNA results finally came back and they matched someone in a database.

If it is truly random, a stranger killing, it could be anyone. It could be a tradesperson, a visitor to the neighbourhood, an offender who went to that area purely to find a victim, or someone who stalked her home after seeing her in public. No way of knowing until we find out more. That is how I have envisioned it. jmo
But, who??

Which would explain why this is taking awhile. If it is truly random, a stranger killing, it could be anyone. No robbery reported by LE and so far no reporting of her being sexually assaulted. If it is truly random, a stranger killing, it could be anyone. Sometimes the killing is the point. As far as we know, Bryan Kohberger didn't steal or sexually assault, either. No robbery reported by LE and so far no reporting of her being sexually assaulted.
imo: If true her murder appears more personal than random.
Very true, thanks.Sometimes the killing is the point. As far as we know, Bryan Kohberger didn't steal or sexually assault, either.
