Back on thread #1, we were talking about JC's Kia Rio and
recall this post (pun intended)
BBM:
After researching some more about Kia vehicles, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of news articles, forum discussions, and YouTube videos depicting Kias on fire! Including the Kia Rio which JC drove.
There are countless car accidents involving various Kia models that caught fire. Some fatal and others not.
I even found a few websites dedicated to warning others about the dangers of Kia vehicle fires!
I'm not sure if I have an actual point with this post or not? I'm not even sure by knowing all of this info now that it will sway me more to the side of a freak accident or stick with the "popular consensus"? I just know that I can't remember ever seeing so many car fires from one manufacturer since the Ford Pinto!
At the beginning of the LE's investigation, they were treating JC's death as an Arson. Now, it seems to be more of a murder investigation using fire.
I guess, I'm keeping my options open until the evidence proves what happened. Without knowing many of the details, it is hard. But, one thing for sure is... these Kias sure have fire issues!

On the way home recently I came across this Kia Rio which had been set alight presumably by vandals.
While the fire brigade were on their way to put it out I got some video o it burning.
The heat was pretty intense, this was as close as it was safe to go and the tyres exploding along with bits org aircon system etc made me also want to keep back a bit...
It's amazing how quickly a car can go from intact to completely trashed...

My 2012 Kia Rio With 17,000 miles burst into flames after pulling in the driveway today. Tried to put it out, but 911 said to get far away from the vehicle. Called Kia, their response, "Your complaint has been logged and someone will contact you in a couple of days". MY CAR BURST INTO FLAMES!!! I'm concerned more cars might have a mechanical defect and be at risk.

Comments:
-YES he was driving when it caught on fire.
-Was he driving it when it caught on fire? That happened to me, and I am trying to build a case against Kia.
-My son's 2001 Rio caught on fire last Saturday as he was driving it. He got out with only his phone. Lost his wallet, ID, keys, and everything in his trunk. Any luck building a case?

After the collision, the Kia traveled across the highway's median and caught fire upon stopping in the southbound left-turn lane, the report said.
If your car catches fire while you are driving, the most important thing to do is to remain calm. Then follow these steps, which also apply if your car ignites in a parking lot.1. Signal and move immediately to the right shoulder, or right lane.
2. Get the vehicles stopped and shut off the engine while getting yourself and all passengers out of the vehicle.
3. Get as far away from the vehicle as you can, at least 150 feet, but make sure the area you move to is safe and secure.
4. Dial 911, so the dispatcher can notify the fire department.
5. Warn onlookers and others to keep away, as well. If you have some signaling device, you can also attempt to warn oncoming traffic.
