A couple of days before he left, Morgan dropped into Jason's office at Multi Packaging

Some new things in this article.

A friend describes visiting Jason right before he was to leave America for his wedding.

"Jason seemed down, Morgan recalled. "He said he had found out that Molly had a few health issues that he wasn't aware of. He mentioned a couple of medical issues, but he mentioned that she was bi-polar," he said. "He was clearly upset when he heard that, he was down in the mouth."

Thanks, stmarysmead! Sad to think that Jason had all these misgivings before the wedding. He went through with the plans thinking it was in the best interest of his children. As many of us do, he talked himself out of the feelings he had in his gut. Molly is one sick cookie (gluten free) of course! :twocents:

http://www.independent.ie/irish-new...-was-violent-or-a-heavy-drinker-34355748.html

Today Molly Martens' sister-in-law (I believe this is the wife of her brother who was charged with child endangerment for driving drunk with his kids in the car?) spoke to an Irish newspaper about the family designated driver Molly's moderate drinking and sobriety.

I am rather tired of the list of all the things she did as a "fabulous Mother." If you are obsessed with football, listing all the times you sat in the stadium is not particularly impressive. Jason's hard work gave her the ability to be home all day, travel, and play "dress up" ( as her pictures show us.)

I'm reminded of this quote"The greatest thing a man can do for his children is love their Mother." Her years of running to divorce lawyers prove she didn't love the children's Father. Then she killed him. Now she us trying to destroy the sacred memories of those children and their feelings of self worth by assassinating the character of their Dad.

I hope we learn a lot more about Molly's lies and Molly's missing years. I think this family may have covered up a lot in protection of their own reputations. I think they finally thought Jason had taken her off their hands.

My opinion only of course.

One more thought...if you were 65 years old and your daughter was living with a very dangerous man much younger, taller, stronger, and heavier than you... If you knew that dangerous man was prone to physical abuse....and if your daughter called, begging you to come and protect her...would you take your 65 yr old wife?

Can anyone see Molly's FB posts before Nov?

They may be there and I just can't see them...but I wonder why the intensity of public postings of love and longing seem to begin in November. The kids left in August, right?

I wonder if FBI Daddy didn't get some inside info that indictments were coming down so they began their "marketing campaign" in Nov?

Just speculating....

I think mommy and daddy had always gone to her rescue, this was just one more time (Enabling). Their version of events is pathetically weak. If it weren't for HIPPA laws, we might know the disturbing truth about Molly's mind. However, I believe she was totally in control of her actions, and knew the difference between right and wrong that evening. Molly was bound and determined to legally adopt those children, but Jason was not cooperating with the plan. :twocents:

Hi everyone :)

Im from ireland and my husband is from close to where Jasons family live, so its quite close to home for me. Its been all over the news for the last few months, with little snippets here and there.
Heres a news report from today that I hadn't heard about previously, that MMs Uncle (not sure if same uncle from previous posts that claim she was a good student etc). Apparently the kids visas and passports were kept at the office.

Mr Corbett was found dead in his luxury North Carolina home in the early hours of Sunday, August 2. It is alleged that on Monday August 3, Mr Earnest made several ‘insistent’ phone calls to the MPS plant where Mr Corbett worked, allegedly telling staff that he was a federal agent and seeking access to Mr Corbett’s personal office.

A source, who declined to be named, said: ‘We told him he would NOT be allowed into Jason’s office.’ It is understood that Mr Earnest accompanied Ms Martens to the office the following day, August 4, where, as next of kin, she was able to collect her husband’s belongings.

Thanks Tazzer. Yes, Michael Earnest is the uncle who has been her spokesperson so far. What weird priorities the day after he died - most people would have other things to occupy their time than collecting personal belongings from work straight away.

in other news today, apparently the kids were interviewed by specialists back in August. Their interviews were recorded but it hasn't been decided if they will be called to testify.

Very weird priorities Shortcloak! How come they had the foresight to go to the office straight away, but took, IIRC, 10 HOURS to tell Jason's family of his death.
All smells to me as a cover-up for a spoilt child/family. Its shocking how much this family seems to be "pulling together" with such ease.

Im just thankful that Jasons sister Tracey had the sense to take quick action, despite her obvious upsetting loss, to head straight to the US to sort out the custody of these 2 beautiful children.

Thanks Tazzer.

They mobilized very quickly to get the two things they wanted: the children and Jason's money. Right away they are after the insurance money!

"If phone records indicate that a call was made from my phone then phone records may indicate, but I can tell you that on that Monday my wife and I were making many calls. We were making funeral arrangements, we were making calls for insurance for the children, the memorial, that was that Thursday."

It seems as if this family...with jobs in several Federal capacities, thought they were positioned to cover up a murder. Their "efficiency" at immediately trying to get the passports and insurance money, show little evidence of horror at the death of this poor man. They seem slickly "organized" to get Molly her way. Jason wasn't even buried yet and they were hellbent in seizing his children and his insurance money.

Personally, I hope they can testify, if needs be, by Skype. I'm an American but I would not want these children to leave Ireland. Nor would I want them to have to face the emotional manipulation that Molly might attempt if she were in the same room with them.

Is it possible that they could use the interview tapes in court instead? I'm sure it would not be easy for them and they have already been through more than kids that age should be. On the other hand, the older boy in particular may be old enough to understand the position and want to testify if it will help gain a conviction.

I'd like to welcome you both to the group, great posts.

Have any of the Irish newspapers done any investigation into Molly's life before she came to work for Jason?

I would bet there is a lot to find there. The little we know just does not fit together to make sense. A very, very intelligent girl with two college educated parents, does not usually just drop out of college and not find another school or career path. Was she employed as a Nanny before Jason hired her? Or just as a babysitte, odd jobs?

Did Jason use an agency to find her as a Nanny? Did she disclose she was bi-polar to the agency so prospective employers would be aware? Or did she lie? Is it possibly to be vetted for a job caring for two small children and not have to disclose bi-polar disease or mental issues? I don't know...but if I were hiring a Nanny, I'd sure want to know. Look at that heinous case in NYC...Leo and Lulu.

The Irish papers could be so helpful if they would look at Molly's history before Jason.

Not as far as I can recall stmarysmead. But it would be great if they did...

The main newspaper sites online that have been reporting are the independent.ie, journal.ie, irishexaminer.com, dailymail.co.uk, limerickleader.ie sundayworld.com, thesun.ie. Possibly more, but most are rehashing what has already been reported, but some have a few one liners from family members among the mix that tell a story.

Thanks pappa rob :)

stmarysmead - to my knowledge there has been no background information given on Molly Martens other than what has been supplied by court documents and public statements by both families. I;m based in Ireland myself, and Irish media are not usually inclined to report too deeply on these matters pre-trial as it is illegal to do so in Ireland regarding a pending criminal case in the Irish courts. Because this will be tried in the US different rules apply, but Irish journalists may not have the same access locally as someone based in Knoxville or nearby would have.

I have looked online but the only pre-Ireland info I found was the yearbooks and the yahoo profile. There is some speculation on Facebook that she may have been engaged briefly but that the relationship ended due to an obsession with her fiance's child, however I have not been able to find any engagement announcements etc online or anything else to verify or give more info on this.

Documents from the swim team she was coaching indicate that she told other parents that she was on the Clemson swim team, but again, I haven't been able to verify that she was through online means.
