I suspected that people were paying too much attention to Wilbur. Just because SL's phone pinged there last doesn't mean it was her final destination, and now we know that she was taken significantly further west.

We don't know how long SL was in Wilbur. Maybe she was alive and maybe she was already dead. Maybe AT and BB killed her in Lincoln and just started driving west/southwest until they reached a remote enough area.

Or maybe SL was alive when they let her out of the car and she succumbed to the elements. Won't know until LE releases a COD.

Yes, I wonder what was different this time than others. What’s the motive? Why did Sydney end up dead, but “Katie” didn’t, she just hung out with them for a week and they dropped her off. To me, foul play indicates something more than OD.

AT claimed to be LEs source on the Wilber tips, so if they were wasting time looking there, it probably isn't a coincidence. I kept saying AT was buying time with his misinformation and running. Sydney's last phone ping being at AT's last known Wilber residence is a weird element. If Sydney was with the phone, you'd think the last thing AT would want would be to disable it at his own home and leave an "X marks the spot" at his old driveway? And if Sydney was no longer with her phone at that point, that "X" mark plus the information he claims to have given LE don't seem to leave a lot of plausible scenarios besides distraction and delay. Her phone battery could have run out there but I'm guessing she had her phone charged for her second date, If you are AT, you know investigators are following a trail that leads to you, so what are you doing with the time you are buying? That time ain't cheap because buying it makes you look very guilty, but presumably less so than if you don't take action.

You can! It was very odd. They posted two videos to Facebook of them rambling like lunatics with sunglasses and hoods. It was the weirdest thing I’ve seen POIs do, like it was out of a bad made-for-tv horror movie.

Part of the bizarre activities with the POIs. I don't quite get what they were hoping to accomplish with their videos. And Bailey gets about 1 percent of the speaking time.

“The investigative efforts have not been able to confirm those particular details,” he said. “We’ll still work toward that end, but again, the analysis of the (digital records) was what led us to the discovery of who we believe to be Sydney.”

Under one scenario where Bailey has been luring in women I think what was different was Sydney, who she was, what she was about. I expect if Bailey had been bringing women to Aubrey or for both of them that those women were more willing, more accepting in exchange for a night of drugs or whatever. Sydney was genuine and looking for a relationship with a woman. So went things went south pretty fast (I expect) they had to know Sidney would report it. Thus, the motive to kill.

One thing I have been thinking about is whether or not this is actually part of what would have been another murder. The relationship between Aubrey and Bailey is bizarre. It gives off a very strong Dom/Sub vibe. Something where Bailey would do absolutely anything Aubrey would tell her to do - she would have no boundaries with him. So given that, what I wonder is if killing Sydney was a way for Bailey to practice killing or even taking someone to a place and then kill them - the whole flow. Did Aubrey have someone he wanted dead and he was going to use Bailey to do it and he needed to make sure she could and would follow through?

Either way, for whatever reason, I think we are going to find that Sydney was killed where she was found and the only person that was with her was Bailey. I have a feeling that Aubrey is going to walk away from this.

I've just had a thought. What if the digital footprint that led them to Sydney was her own phone? Was it ever said that the Wilbur ping was the last? I guess it had to be or they would not have been searching there initially.
Eta- I see it was confirmed in post 1 that it was the last ping in Wilbur, therefore it has to be someone else's digital footprint that led them to Edgar.

I've been following this from the beginning and I've not seen anything stating LE has been in contact with Katie. If there was something on this, I missed it, but until I see it, I'm in the camp that believes Katie does not exist.

I genuinely hope however she died she did not suffer. It would have been so cold and lonely and scary in the middle of a field with no one to hear your cry for help.
We all know who did this, and law enforcement will not let them get away with this, let alone even be able to sleep at night. I hope whatever happened plays on loop for them as they lay in a cold cell locked up at night, and it eats at both of them slowly for the rest of their lives. I hope bailey pictures her own daughter in her head and how sydney was someone's baby girl too. This is tragic and disgusting to even think humans can do such a thing. Rest easy beautiful soul.

I can understand your feelings about Sydney's dead entirely and it's seems very likely that she came to harm by Bailey & Co. But I really hope there is evidence to it and LE keeps an open mind in this case. It would not be the first time, because of tunnel vision, a real murderer got away.... I don't believe she was killed in that field...most likely dumped there...maybe she was in the back of a car all along...JMO

Yes - it was in one of the videos. AT stated a "Katie" who he claimed to be a gf of BB's spent the week prior to Sydney's disappearance with them.
