NJ NJ - Bayonne, BlkFem 16-20, UP1409, braided hair extensions, body chain, ABC socks, Oct'07

I was wondering where I could find a listing of women from outside the USA...perhaps the Carribbean? I think this woman could have been a prostitute from a neighboring town that as dumped here....Many of them are from the Carribbean.

Thank you

Could this unidentified female be Laroya Nate Bray? http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/bray_laroya.html
Heights off by a little but perhaps since this unidentified female was estimated to have been dead for nearly a month before found then the accuracy of her estimated height could be a bit off. Laroya did dye her hair and wore extensions. She could of redid the coloring of the color her hair was died and of had gotten new extensions. Both this unidentified female and Laroya had some interestingly unique jewelry choices. Also, as a young teen I was very similar in height & weight to Laroya and this unidentified female's clothing sizes were what I wore when I was the last known height & weight that Laroya was before she disappeared. JMO and :twocents:

i agree with this. i think she may be from the carribean or haiti or somewhere and was trafficked.

This is a viable match. I have been looking at this case for over a year. Rashida Faulk was only entered in NAMUS in May 2013.

There are a few things that work against this match.

The UID was discovered October 18, 2007 and post mortem time is 3 weeks.
Rashida was listed as missing October 13, 2007.

UID age is listed as 16-20. Rashida was 29.

Rashida has a tatoo, there was no indication that the UID had a tatoo.

Other than that, it is worth submitting to LE. However Rashida's DNA is listed as Samples submitted - Tests not complete. Until tests are complete, it could take a few months before a comparison will determine if this is a match or not.

RF profile not longer available.

If she was, she was well dressed. I looked up the clothes she was wearing. Paschal Tex seems to be local to NY, the Buff brand bra and Vigoss brand jeans are both kind of extensive and sold in high end stores

i read that they were availabe at kohl's? I could be wrong.

And I meant expensive, lol. Darn autocorrect! Hmm, when I looked them up I found them in Dillards, Saks,Nordstrom, etc but not at places like Kohls, Target, Wal-Mart, etc

Here's one where height and weight are in the range. She disappeared in 2005 from Brooklyn, NY. She caught my eye because she was young at the time of her disappearance (20) and has braids in her hair. Her name is Shelayah Gonzalez. Her teeth in the picture look perfect but hard to make out if there were gaps on the sides. In the description it notes that her upper teeth near her jaw are crooked. She has an undisclosed medical condition.

I googled her name and found a post online from someone claiming to be a family member...she says that Shelayah lost her 24 month old son and disappeared within a month...

I was looking at Gonzalez too, because of the dates and location. She's really a very close match on most fronts, but I had ruled her out because of the tattoo. But it sounds like it was rather small and after three weeks, it might have been undetectable, I suppose?

I came upon Aubrina Mack independent of this thread and feel like she could be a strong potential match. Has she ever been ruled-out/called in as a potential match?

Also, Shaina Riser https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/26711/

I realize this is a bit of a stretch but Shaina clearly seems like a foster child who has largely been forgotten (due to circumstances of disappearance and lack of photo/detailed disappearance information) so I wanted to give her the respect of at least being considered by the community as a possible match.

The possibility of trafficking seems likely but it could also be a teen who was living on the streets in NYC or another city in the area.

Due to the lack of information, do you think it would even be possible for her to be matched to a UID anywhere?

Kind of unlikely, though it's possible that if they had a possible match, they could find something. And sometimes when it says "not available" that just means not available in the Namus/Codis etc. system. Local LE might have information.

I think the information we do have makes it pretty unlikely she was this UID, though.

Maybe we should start a thread for her?

So I too am originally from Bayonne, I lived there back when the UID was discovered. I had a theory about this a while ago that I posted as a comment of an NJ.com article, but I always thought that somehow this woman was tied to this incident: Newark hair-braiding salon owner pleads guilty to human trafficking, forced labor http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/03/newark_hairbraiding_salon_owne.html.

I read comments from a few other Bayonnites in this thread, they might have some insight into how this might correlate, knowing the area and geography so well. The idea that the UID was from another country would explain the absence of inquiries into her whereabouts from friends/family, and while her hair is not an uncommon style in the area, the correlation between that and the Braiding Salon in Newark also is an interesting commonality.

While I could be way off on this theory, the timing is interesting. The initial arrests on in the Human Trafficking cases were in Early September of 2007: Human trafficking alleged in hair salons in Newark, E. Orange http://blog.nj.com/ledgerarchives/2007/09/human_trafficking_alleged_in_h.html

The UID was discovered in Mid-October 2007 with an estimated time of death of 3 week prior. If one of these girls ran off on her own after the arrests of the trafficking operation, it could fit.
