NJ NJ - Bayonne, BlkFem 16-20, UP1409, braided hair extensions, body chain, ABC socks, Oct'07

My forensic science class and I will be looking into this a bit more the next few weeks,,

Did they come to the age based mostly on the UID still having wisdom teeth? Asking because I didn't get mine out until i was 28, so that seems like it could throw things off.

A few possibilities?

Caleta White:

All her pictures seem to be retouched pro portraits, so maybe the spaces in her teeth are photoshopped out? Her weight is low, but maybe she gained some in her time on the run?

Artdrunetta Hobbs:

height/weight matches, cant see her teeth in her pics, a bit old for UID range (she was 23 in 2006)

Erika Brown

Has some spaces in her teeth, right height/weight, would have been 15-16 when UID was found

Shelayah Gonzalez

Missing since 2005, but from NY area. Could have disappeared into the city and later ran into trouble and been dumped in Bayonne?

The examination of wisdom teeth to estimate age focuses on wheither they are erupted, not whether they are removed.

I'm also on board with the socks relating to her high school. I was on the dance team and had similar socks.

Maybe she was a cheerleader/dance team/ flag corp girl?

According to the Namus entry for Tamika Bethea, it say she's been located.

Five years after the decomposed body of woman was found off Rt. 440 in Bayonne, police are seeking the public's help as they continue to work to determine who she is and how she died, officials said.

On Oct. 18, 2007 a driver called police after seeing the body in weeds about 25 feet west of the Route 440 New Hook Road jughandle between East 28th and East 29th streets, officials said at the time.

The African-American woman, who had hair extensions - approximately 28 inches long - was wearing size 11 camouflage-style pants, a pink top and white ankle socks, officials said. She had a silver-colored chain around her waist, and a brown plastic thumb ring on her right hand.

I don't know how to do side by sides, but i think she looks very similar to the drawing (more so than the 3d recreation). She is reported to use hair extensions, and while her LKA date is late 2002, it seems in the circumstances like everyone felt like she was alive, just off the radar. Going on the idea those are cubs socks (no one seemed to agree with that here, but no one seemed to disagree either...) she is from chicago. maybe she left in between 2002 and 2007 and headed to the tristate area where she met her fate?

Just my two cents but the socks might be generic novelty socks with a "kid's play" theme of teddy bears and ABC's. In addition to the green letter C's, you can make out an outline in yellow of an A and a B:

https://identifyus.org/en/medias/full/951

It's also possible the lettering that appears to read "Y-2000" isn't of much significance if it's printed that tiny and on the bottom of the sock where it wouldn't show. It might just be a manufacturer's mark or date of manufacture.

But I may be entirely wrong, and I don't mean to discount anyone else's theory. :)

thats a way better picture of the socks than i had seen! i had only looked at the doe network page :/

Today our classes are meeting with the Bayonne Police to give them the information we have come up with and also discuss the socks with them

you're right, after looking closer at the picture it does seem like they are actually children's socks with ABC's on them.

I teach forensic science in Bayonne

We gave the info to the police...He showed us a bigger pic of the socks...They arent the Chicago Cubs....

I think maybe we need to look into an international registry...as this may also be human trafficking....

I started writing a post but I lost it. I looked up the brand on her tank top since it wasn't familiar to me. There isn't much info on Pascal Tex but they do have a Facebook that gives the company history. They weren't established in the US until 1988 and it states their main US establish is in NY and has been since 1990.

Vigoss, the brand on the pants, I have seen before. I believe they sell Vigoss at. Kohl's. They are located in NY.

In regards to the socks, I looked up socks with bear heads and found lots of picture but nothing exact. One thing I noticed is that many of the listings are in Chinese characters (I think?).

These are pretty close, the other socks made by this manufacturer have similar two tone coloring on the toe and ankle.

I'm not sure any of this info will help but I figured it couldn't hurt to post.

RASHIDA FAULK: Went missing from Georgia. She was going to New York for a modeling job.

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/20256/5?current_page=case_information

This is a viable match. I have been looking at this case for over a year. Rashida Faulk was only entered in NAMUS in May 2013.

There are a few things that work against this match.

The UID was discovered October 18, 2007 and post mortem time is 3 weeks.
Rashida was listed as missing October 13, 2007.

UID age is listed as 16-20. Rashida was 29.

Rashida has a tatoo, there was no indication that the UID had a tatoo.

Other than that, it is worth submitting to LE. However Rashida's DNA is listed as Samples submitted - Tests not complete. Until tests are complete, it could take a few months before a comparison will determine if this is a match or not.
