Like a home recording studio.......hmmm. Your right Fairy1--there are all kinds of weirdos out there. Even a trip to the grocery store is a little scary now days. I live in a city, so they constantly have baggers or employees standing outside. Security drivers at Wally's.

Yes, like a recording studio or a rehearsal room. Hmmmm.

The ONLY reason I shy away from this theory is because I'm pretty sure Steven wouldn't be the only victim of someone who went to such great lengths to hide what they were doing. Now, if they can tie any other missing people to SCA somehow, that would be worth looking into.

I really have to wonder if they've even tried....

Me too. It could also be a way to just lure him there--come on over for lunch and I'll show you my recording studio. (etchings) :) Tazed and taken away. JMO

I've undoubtedly missed something significant, Paulette, but why would the primary theory being tha he was still distributing the same fliers in the area where he parked not be the most logical conclusion?

rd

Because he arrived in Anthem at 11:54 am. It's a logical conclusion that he had an appointment at 12:00. No one has ever come forward to say they saw him passing out fliers on the 13th.

His neighbor saw his car gone at 10:30 pm on the 12th in St. George. Steven took a call at 9:47 in Las Vegas. Since no one reported seeing him or his fliers between 9:47 and 11:54, I think he was waiting for this appointment at 12 pm.

I also think he was given directions to the house & he had them with him. He looks confident in the video that he knows where he's going.

There was certainly enough notice to anyone following this case that there
would be a search on Saturday morning. If you were the perp, would you
go back and remove whatever you could? I actually thought that the
Henderson PD or the PI might have arranged to have the area under surveillance. Guess not...

sbakker....I am with you...left on Evening Lights....thinking that someone
there "knows something"...and if there were basements, I would want to
know that they were checked. Actually, I would want to talk with the owners/occupants of each home - that is if I were the police.

And to our Las Vegas/Henderson friends who have searched and brought such good information back to us.....Many Thanks....!

Great pics, Sin City! Thank you so much. I see now that black binder thing you were talking about. I wish they would have taken a closer look.

When the PI looked at the black binder I found he stated that it looked really old. I took this as older than 3 1/2 months or so.

When I came upon this find I almost missed it. All I saw was the black rectangle portion that still looked black, as the rest of the binder was covered under the dirt. One can see the dirt on the portion that was covered. I used my toe to jar it free of the dirt, because it kinda looked like a man's wallet open. For a moment I was real excited thinking it may have been a wallet...no luck there.

Was that black binder flagged, so that it could be later collected and examined?

It looks like a zip-top portfolio to me.

The PI looked at the black binder and thought that it was really old.

However, there is a picture of a royal blue zipper bag. guitar3 found it, and we all thought it was the type of bag a laptop computer would be carried in.

I'll let Sin City verify this when she comes back, but she did say she pointed it out and was told it looked too "old." Heck, if I'd been lying in the desert for the last 4 months, I'd look old too!

I kinda thought to myself...hmmmm when the PI told me the black binder looked too old, but I figured he's the expert. The fact that our climate is extremely dry, that we had a week of heavy rains last month or so, and that we have heavy winds (like today) that most items left out in the elements would get to looking old pretty quickly.

There was a pile of discarded clothes and books further up the wash area, so maybe this binder had been part of that garbage, and washed down with any flash flooding. It was a 1" 3-ring binder. One of the books was a dictionary. The others I didn't look close enough to try to figure out what books they were.

Fasteddy may be able to tell us if there was any flash flooding in this area around the time we had the heavy rains recently.

The 3-ring binder part does look super-rusted, but I'm no expert on rust. Maybe it's a good thing I wasn't there; that desert would look like a sprinkling system was being installed the next day, with the flags I'd planted.

Laytonian, It was really difficult knowing what to mark with flags. There's a lot of discarded items in the area, and as you see on my photos shot gun casings (don't know what they are called), and near this area a hand gun bullet casing. I could find it again, if needed.

I was told by one of the men in the PI group that it was obvious that target shooting occurred in the area, and it was left at that.

There was nothing in the media if you recall. I even questioned it. Maybe they did this thinking if the perp knew, he could go back and mess up things. JMO

Who goes target shooting with a shotgun?

Getting back to the search i'm no expert but we all got off the path when we came across something and started searching other area's. The area should definitely be searched again. If and when we do my suggestion to have a complete search we should walk shoulder to shoulder approximately 15-20 ft. apart have our specialist behind us (perhaps 1 per 10 ppl.) and when we come across something flag it and let our specialist take care of what we find so we can continue our search with our peers and this way everything and all ground gets covered. At the end of our search have a briefing like Fairy1 mentioned so whatever anyone found they can ask questions at that time to get updated. It only makes sense to conduct a thorough search. If this was the right location for the reliable lead, hopefully we'll be back to conduct another search before our Las Vegas temperatures really start to soar!

Guitar, I totally agree with you 110%.

Pictures 4 & 5 are of a backpack I believe. It appeared to have more than one zipper. I flagged it, and a few men in the PI group stood above the ledge looking at it for a bit. Don't know what was decided about it.

I showed it to guitar, and she thought there was a boulder/rock inside of it.

As one can see on the pictures of this item there is a pile of debris next to this backback, or whatever it is. IMO this pile of stuff should be looked through.

I guess we are all still wondering and pondering. Here is a crazy thought, what if Steven's car was still there because he never left. Do any of those homes have basements? Maybe somehow Steven is being held against his will in one of those homes.
I don't get the feeling Steven was ever planning to harm himself.

I think the homes are built on slabs; if you look at the search area on the Google satellite view, you can see land that's being prepared for homebuilding, but leveled and ready for a slab pour.

That's why I'm curious about homes built right after Steven disappeared.

We had a case in Utah, years ago, where a man disappeared from Brigham City shortly before before the cement slab was poured at the Vulcraft plant there. Still, based on other evidence, a man was convicted of murder -- even though the victim is still officially listed as "missing".

If the appointment was at 12:00, he'd have arrived late (because he didn't start walking until then).

I don't think it was an appointment, more something like "meet me around noon, type of thing"

Sorry to all my fellow WebSleuthers! I will not mention others that were at the search.

I don't think she was talking about the mention of WS's searchers SinCity. Don't think.

Which would make perfect sense, if he'd been there before.

Or "come back here when you're done."
