Unless she is in a shelter all this time, which I doubt, where does anyone truly expect that a "depressed" woman would be for two-plus months, without her belongings, money, etc.?

We don't know that she's depressed, we don't know if she's alone, we don't know she had no money.

The only thing I know for sure is that I don't know....

I am however, fairly certain, a rock did not turn a phone on.

Some examples from others who were located safely:

With someone she met online.
Living with a family and care taking for someone. (room/board/food in exchange to live-in care for an elderly person.)
With a moving group, cult or religious fanatical group.
With a hippy "come as you are" type place.
Living in and out of 24 hour casinos/gambling and earning money without being noticed.
With a missionary group.
Project Occupy.
These are all just mere examples of how one has done it in the past. Not saying that any of these are what Jennifer HAS done...but any one is something that she could have done.

I had mentioned the Greyhound bus station as a thought, and the two airports with domestic flights < 60 miles away. I believe there are some taxi services in the immediate area. Have those been checked in case she left that way? We have no idea what her phone records may have revealed.

has LE checked with the Post Office, even one not so close to home, to see if JR may have had a PO box? Or are there any places like Kinko's or a place that rents boxes.

A few things to remember...

We are a victim friendly forum. This includes Jennifer as well as the rest of her family. It doesn't mean we can't discuss what is known thru the media or law enforcement and ask questions about any inconsistencies. Lets stay focused on Jennifer. Please continue here...

I think this post should preface all others...

here is what we know, correct me if I'm wrong:

1. JR left with phone at ~1030am on the 11th
2. JR usually texts or calls GR or the other way around every couple of hours
3. No texts occurred that day once JR left the house
4. Find iPhone could not locate the phone the evening of 11th
5. Find iPhone app pings phone Wednesday morning
6. GR goes and finds iPhone on north side of SR23 near Moon Hill Road

So, where was GR when he attempted to use the Find iPhone app?
Why didn't he call the police when the phone finally reported a location
Did the police try to use the Find iPhone app on the 11th when she was reported missing?

I find the phone hitting a rock and turning on theory impossible. How far off the road was it found? Was it over in the sand or right on the side of the road? If found around 8am - who took the kids to school that morning? Just so many questions since GR found the phone.

I'd be curious to see from 1030am the phone records that LE has that will show the tower's the phone was registering to from the time she left the house. It should show it all the way out to just about where the phone was found since anything past that there is a 15 mile dead zone with no cell service. That would be telling!

On "air tight alibi" I'd like a detailed account from the time GR dropped the kids off until the car was found.

All great points, ORR..

I, too, have thought the LE would have been able to locate JR's phone with the technology they have... And Apple's Find My iPhone App seems fairly basic to me..(I, however, am a techno zero... :blushing: )

And....I would think LE must have been able to track JR's phone from the 10:30 a.m. "leaving to shop time" up until the phone was found....

Hello - :seeya: I am brand new to posting, and even to Websleuths, but have been following this case as it is somewhat local, and I go through that area all the time going between Oneonta and Cortland. As others have mentioned cell service is spotty in that area, my sister used to have an ATT iPhone and would get service more frequently along that route than with I did with my Verizon iPhone, but depending on the model iPhone and how frequently roaming capabilities are updated (you are supposed to dial *228 every so often to update the phone) it is possible to have some service in that area. Also, not sure if this plays a role but there are also areas where you can receive texts but no calls - maybe the find the iPhone app works on the same principles as texts.

Another thing I thought I would mention is that I hate going through Norwich on 23, especially since they installed all the stop signs at the one end before you turn. I bypass Norwich by turning where the Mobil and Valero stations are (sorry not sure of route names), then going to the stop sign and turning left, (this goes by an NBT Bank that is fairly close to the road), turning right at the light and then turning left and going by the Country Club. This brings you back out on 23 fairly close to where the cell phone was found, and could be a possible path of travel. It also eliminates any backtracking. Also, when going to Cortland I take another shortcut when I get to Cincinnatus, and cut over I believe Telephone Road. There is a lot of open farmland and woods along this entire route.

Sorry this is such a long post, and forgive me if I have mentioned something that has already been mentioned. I hope that they find Jennifer soon.
