I got excited because i thought he said positive for 4

I know, I was hoping for something, too.

We get really excited if there's a killer's DNA found, but there was a recent article stating that DNA from criminals isn't often found at crime scenes. They end up getting convicted on other evidence.

JMO, DNA is a big deal and probably more often found at crimes involving sexual activity. But if there's no sex involved, and if none of the killers is injured in a fight or otherwise leaves blood behind, its probably hard to find DNA.

It says something in this case when they test so many things for touch DNA and didn't find anything. That's a tough one to get in non-sexual crimes. If the killer is wearing gloves and keeping all his/her clothes on, they're not shedding a lot of DNA.

Was this camera in working order?

I've been in and out during this testimony, but I don't recall them saying much about this camera. If it was a trail cam, this may be the one that had video that was captured. Or not, haha.

I did hear him say there were no wires connected to anything for the cameras attached to the shed. I think there were 3 in the photos. The agent also mentioned a mount for a trailcam inside the shed.

It sure sounds like the Wags were looking for the cameras that night, though. JMO, that's why they were looking for the keys to the shed. Maybe Wags didn't find any recording equipment inside the camper, so they went to the shed. JMO

ETA: There was a DVR inside the shed, but no wires attached and it had cobwebs on it, so it wasn't being used.

So much for wads of money all over the place. One must be careful at what we take as gospel immediately after a homicid2.

JMO, witness testimony is always prone to error.

In Donald Stone's case, he was obviously in a panic, saw cash on the bed, but ran out so fast he couldn't recall accurately how much was there. He must have been in shock for a while after that.

Maybe the other DNA they found is transferred from one of the other crime scenes? Turning KR's pockets inside out, it's possible, if the killer only kept one set if gloves on, to then transfer say CRSR's or GR's DNA (they were both dragged/moved by supposedly two W's, according to JW's proffer via AC's opening statement) to KR's crime scene.

Also JW supposedly touched HR's baby and DR's pillows, blanket.

YES YES sorry, yes!
I am so glad I'm not alone! lol I know AC stumbles a lot and says umm, but her tone is fine, her questions are good. The defense's tone is just yuck. Sometimes it's as if he is an adult questioning a child and these witnesses are professionals.. BCI, medical examiners.. etc. Some questions also feel like he's trying to catch someone in a lie, like a big ahah moment, but there isn't one. Maybe someone else can explain it better, I just cringe at some of it.

Sorry I was busy earlier - here's the tweets up to lunch time.

PIKE COUTNY TRIAL: Testimony continues this morning in Waverly in #GeorgeWagnerIV's trial.

Today will focus on the final crime scene - where Kenneth Rhoden lived.

George Edward Staley Jr., a BCI special agent, is on the stand now.

He processed the crime scene at Kenneth Rhoden's camper and property.

Pike Co. prosecutor Rob Junk is handling the questioning.

Special agent Staley works up north. Got called in to go south that Friday afternoon.

He got to 799 Left Fork Rd (Kenneth Rhoden's property) around 5:45 p.m.

SA Staley describes Kenneth's property as "very rural" with a long driveway, blocked by crime scene tape. There were some investigators - probably deputies, he says - on scene.

He starts photographing at the roadway, working is way back to trailers.

SA Staley says he found an electronic device on a tree walking up the driveway. Believe this is a motion sensor.

A closer look at the driveway as it ended at Kenneth Rhoden's trailer. Another BCI special agent is on the right of this photo.

Another photo - this is a shed near the trailers.

Jun says they'll talk about this soon. I believe this will be the marijuana grow op building.

till going through photos of the property - showing proximity of everything, trailer, shed, vehicles.

Moving closer working up the hill.

Focus now on the shed beside Kenneth's trailer - found a key fob outside the door. Maybe three cameras on the outside too.

Was this camera in working order?
Don't know. This agent wasn't a specialist in that area, so I think a lot of evidence testimony will be done by some experts they'll bring in later.

Probably ballistics, DNA, blood spatter, perhaps, someone who can discuss the video evidence, boot prints, etc. All of those are different areas of specialty.

whats the delay now? I've got black screen not even the book and flag

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: Inside the door to the shed, SA Staley thought this black bracket was for a trail camera but he never found one.

Inside shed.jpg

SA Staley says he found a stairway that went to a basement in the shed.

He found what he presumes were marijuana plants (didn't test them) in that basement. Also found grow lights, watering systems.

Basement1.jpg Basement2.png

SA Staley says he found no evidence of forced entry into this shed.

SA Staley is describing the front deck to the trailer. We see a hasp open on he door. A lock on the back deck. A window with a cell phone propped up in it.

No sign of forced entry in either outer or inner trailer door.

Front deck.png Back deck.png Door.png

SA Staley is describing photos as he made his way into the trailer and bedroom.

Pool camera in courtroom is not showing these, per judge's order, because you can see part of Kenneth's body.

SA Staley points out the alarm part of the sensor - ties back to the electronic device on the tree . Motion detector worked when they tested it.

Motion.png

SA Staley says Kenneth Rhoden was dead on his mattress. His pockets were turned out.

Keys and money were there too.

SA Staley says he found a cartridge case on the bed too - took several photographs of it.

Defense again objects to showing photos of Kenneth Rhoden's body. Says it is repetitive.

SA Staley says he was not in the bedroom very long.

He says he couldn't tell if Kenneth's right eye was open or closed - "it was not there." Left eye was partially open/closed.

Staley doesn't believe his body was moved. Believes Kenneth was asleep.

SA Staley says he can't determine the distance the shot was fired - or the path of the bullet.

SA Staley says they also did a 3D FARO scan of the room - they did this at the other scenes too.

Used to record everything at the scene with accurate measurements.

This was the first piece of evidence collected at this scene. Lock with keys to the shed. And keys on ring.

Stipulation: No DNA profile recovered from any keys. The lock has a mix of DNA, including Kenneth Rhoden.

Keys.png Staley1.jpg

This is the key fob and key also found near the shed.

Stipulation: Does not contain sufficient DNA data for comparison.

I really dislike the way the defense questions people. I get this tone in his questioning that I can't quite explain, but it's really annoying. Anyone else feel that way?
This particular defense team has consistently much worse than the others. The other defense teams, when talking to state's attorneys, judge, etc. have been very professional.

This team has not. Never polite or professional.
